I tend to agree with Mr. Galloway. In this, though, I think it is relevant that we acknowledge that there's homophobia in Russia and that it is quite institutionalised. The ideology of the Russian government is based on traditional values and it is very agressive towards LGBT, feminism and so on. They are encouraging the narrative that they are protecting family christian values in the face of western depravation... That is a huge deal if the world is to be multipolar.

Did Tatchell not want to lower the age of sex ? After all he said that some of his gay friends had sex at the age of 9 and he said it was consensual so don't deem all underage sex as forced upon very small children . Russia is awesome. I love Russia, and Russians. BTW - I've been to a gay bar called "Propaganda" in Moscow. I believe this is the one George Galloway is talking about. George, you are flat out lying when comparing the legality of gay relationships in the U.S and Russia. The Supreme Court ruled in favour of same sex marriage countrywide in 2015! Even if it wasn't and you want to compare just regular relationships, they weren't illegal in any U.S state. Russia doesn't even have civil partnerships for same sex couples. Just nonsense all round with that argument.
Yet, most anti gay positions come from religious believes! Most arguments are base in old testament! Very few countries in the world provide equal rights to homosexuals. Each country is going to fight their own battles within their societies and eventually. Will win when the time is right! It is a Global issue.
