@@AlexandrePouliotRoberge Exactly, smiling for us is sign of emotions. Not sign of politeness, as its nothing to do with politeness. To say "thank you, you are welcome" is polite. But smile is emotional state.
Check the suicide rate in Europe. Greece has the lowest in the world, Eastern Europe some of the highest, I have been in Poland, those people are depressed af
*He spoke English to Bush when they first met, which was the only reason why the latter could "relate" to him, and say that he could "look into the man's soul".*
I dont think americans realise how big the world cup is to the rest of the world. There were more viewers watching yesterdays game than the royal wedding in the uk 😂
When he said "...I don't know man, I feel like the only thing worst than a non smiling Russian is a smiling Russian..." I lost it HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Emmett Hardie ideally someone who has absolutely no idea how to use it and just blows as hard as possible, repeatedly, with zero skill. Kinda like how Trump does his job
Nope, and seeing as "Russian" isn't a race, noone is doing that. It was xenophobic comments. You are kinda right though, its unnecessary, but he is a comic remember, they do make jokes. Unlike some russian dictators, who makes dead people. So lets keep things in perspective here right?
This is a WORLD cup, Go and interview the football fans...!!! this is not an election, why would the BBC go and interview the oppositions if they are not looking for a trouble.. !!
No thanks, Trump is way better than those vuvuzela's because you cannot simply switch it off in a stadium etc. You can just turn on the tv and go outside protesting whatsoever. Vuvuzela's is something you cannot ignore in a stadium and rather wants to make you cut your ears off.
I’m Russian girl and I always friendly to every tourist I meet, I respect every country, and I just want other respect mine. If you don’t understand my culture, the amount of knowledge and history at list be respectful. It’s bullying and we don’t deserve it. There is no “bad or good” history, cause it’s all about view. You can say anything about USSR but it is the best period of Russian history. There was no racism, sexism, ageism. All people wanted to work for future, they were ready to die for it, they had purpose in life that was born from love to country. Studying that period books and films I want to work for the future of all human beings no mater what culture they are. So now say me that I am a bad person.
As a western traveller in Russia it is quite weird how no one smiles. Like hotel and restaurant people are trained I guess, they do, but as soon as you leave the high streets it's mostly frowns and impatience at your inability to speak Russian (got really good at signing in Russia). I completely understand why they had to train people to smile. It really isn't a cultural thing over there. Which is fine, I didn't even mind that much, just a thing to get used to...
Beyond Redemption?! That's a bit much Trevor. I get you have a show in the US but maybe there are other countries in the world who see the political landscape a bit differently...
I get the feeling he meant "That's not bad, right?" and I love that it came across as "I'm totally a nice guy. You can trust me. My nation is lovely, and everyone is happy. We are not made up of homophobes, hackers, and corpses. Everything is fine."
I like Trevor but his simplification of an entire culture is a blattant damaging thing. Both goverments (USA and Russia) are filthy but both countries have a lot to offer in terms of culture. More respect for the millions of people who leave there. Do not spread ethnic hatred.
It really starts to get annoying with all this jokes everytime I see Americans making any videos about Russia they are all the same stereotypes, you judge a country when you haven’t been or lived there. If Americans do not like doing stereotypes about black people or Mexicans because they find it offensive why do you do it about other countries? Why does Russia always gets so much criticism?
It's just mean to Russians because we are welcoming everybody as it traditional for us and we are happy to host as football is important for us. Just 6 days into world cup and it's so great in Moscow. Not fair to tell about some grannies no one heard about and ridiculous smiling lessons. Yes, we have a problematic political situation in Russia but not with people who are happy to share this celebration with everybody.
I think the US needs good PR more, you elected a game show host, invaded three countries before he was elected, your infrastructure is falling into ruin and your populace are engaging in a civil discourse that may lead to civil war.
Ah, I hear you Trevor! I am constantly experiencing identity anxiety as it's hard to adjust to the non-smiling Russian way of life after several years in the UK.
Government people"yes... we are here to interview" Opposition people: "Appologies, We are not gome... Please! Leave message after noise! Beeeeeeeeeep" Government people: "Yes hallo we of 'state television' we'll just wait here till you get back for interview with western propaganda woman inside .... Answeringmachine for door! Exiting time! How modern! why do they complain if they have neat stuff like this ? Or did they make themselves?"
Come on, just chill with the paranoia! I am watching this from Russia as a World Cup fan. Ive never been as well treated as I am being here and despite all the allegations of racism etc, me being an Afro-Brazilian male doesn’t seem to matter at all.
I am pretty sure that the USA needs good publicity right now... and china... and north korea... and greece... and turkey... and almost all african countries... and almost all south easian countries... and yes... Russia too Just think about it: When did you hear or see something really good from the USA... Maybe it is just me but the USA has like 80% bad publicity, 15 % neutral publicity and maybe 5 % good... May be exaggerated, but y... stop telling the people that the old "rival" Russia is making itself a joke etc. because every leadership does that - especially the US president... the UK is actually quite fine tough, because of the weddings... And no, i am not russian or somehow for Russia it is just that the Daily Show portraits such a completely absurd image in this video... Efforts from any nation to get more friendly and invite people should be respected - because you do not see it that often. Russia wants to be a big player again - so what? Let it be (as far as i am concerned) ok that went a little to political...
It doesnt sound as funny now when nothing bad actually happened at the world cup) and those smiling workers on trains, cmon guys, american companies invented those classes.
USA has Marina Ann Hantzis. Russia has Ksenia Kondratyeva. ...both sadly retired from what made them famous. So, both nations can give you something that will make you temporary happy, and after a while take it back and blame you for knowing them.
This attempt byt the US to make Russia look bad is what they did for Iraq, Libya and every adversary of theirs. They did same for Korea - no respect for other people's cultures but you want to impose yours on theirs.
'10 wc gave the world vuvuzela. 8 years passed by but still its a big thing in our country Bangladesh, even it's also a part of many of our public holidays :v
