@hilaryobiorah6478 an attack is different than a full on military invasion. 4 hijacked planes is different than over 100 military aircraft lying over an entire ocean to get to the mainland.
Yeah, Keith David. Fun fact he's also the voice actor for the HBO Spawn animated series and Goliath in Gargoyles. Been in a lot of movies like The Thing and They Live. Very underrated actor
what most of you forget is that in the cod universe russia went through a nationalist revolution that reconquered most of the ex soviet teritories making it a massive economy and military
It doesn't matter. Russia never had this kind of force projection potential. Even at the height of its military power. You need an overwhelmingly massive blue water navy. And naval strategy is built strategy. It would take generations for Russia to do that if it started now, even with bottomless pits of money, expertise and manpower.
@@heartpaid6767 Yes, man, he is “trying”, Russia was just “for fun” for 10 years trying to convince Ukraine to accept the “Minsk Agreements”, according to which the DPR and LPR return to Ukraine on their own, and “purely for fun” there are almost no countries left around Russia where there is no American military base or NATO contingent. Your propaganda literally projects what it does and tries to justify itself in this way, lol

Idk, it was pretty amazing but so hard irrealistic that when i replayed the remastered i got carried only by the nostalgia, as the game felt like “nah… that is just impossible” like all the time
Dude I played it all in one sitting the day it came out. Took the day off work, and the day after, 9 hours of COD and I was hitting F like a mofo when trying to pull the knife out of my chest. F Shepard man.
I guess that's why the new MW3 went in another direction to be more realistic- instead of full WW3 with Russia, its just a worldwide manhunt for Makarov
Yeah but it’s not as fun. The original MW3 had giant city battles, explosions everywhere, a manhunt that spanned from India to Africa, to Europe, and finally a final mission that ended with you bulldozing through Makarov’s army as you plan to ice the man. It was the most bad ass finale one could ask for. The new had none of that escalation that made the series work.
The new story is boring because nothing really happens aside from having your generic bad guy doing something mild compared to other conflicts that's happened in Call of Duty. Alongside that, you get drama from the characters all because of the mild conflicts. They fight Hadir for stealing the gas and joining Al-Qatala to take down Barkov; Shadow Company betrays Los Vaqueros and Ghost and Soap over three fucking missiles and Hassan, which they had before letting him go; and then 141 hating Shepherd for being a dumbass in the last game while on the hunt for Makarov. Same shit, different amounts of diarrhea.
@@doubleflores8350 In the OG MW3, Did the war end after you get Makarov? Never got a clear answer I thought the US/Russia war would continue, go nuclear, and maybe end the world
Man this mission and "Exodus" brings back so much great memories. The Coup De Grace ost hits me everytime and thats what made this mission really Fun to play. This game still holds up the best today and no doubt, better than the newer cods today👌🙏👏
I'll be honest, "Wolverines!" and "Exodus" had to be my favorite missions in MW2 on account of being set in America's suburbs, all while the US military is scrambling to deal with the invading Russian forces while at the same time evacuating civilians and key personnel.
@@vixnuu.__214 The same thing also happened to Russia. Putin announced a “special military operation” with the goals of “denazification” and “protecting the people of Donbas”. Putin, his allies both in Russia and abroad, said that Ukraine will fall in 3 days. It’s now 2024, 2 years after the invasion started, Russian soldiers are now entrenched in a stalemate similar to the Western Front in World War I. Simply put, Russia’s military is in a pathetic state, buddy.
Russia in American video game: I will launch an invasion thousands of miles away from homeland and bring the greatest military to its knees. Russia in Reality: I can't take the neighboring village because it's 3 miles away from the train lines. SEND HELP! US loves to over-appriciate her enemies xD
As much as I loved mw2 I will tell you that even if Russia did manage to land in the United States, they would not only need to be ready for our military but also the civilians who own weapons as well. Keep this in mind there are 333 million people who live in the US, and there are 393 million civilian owned firearms. Dont think for a second that civilians won't arm themselves to defend the country.
And those civilians with no combat experience will be gunned down in droves, making it much easier for an invader to assert control. Handguns and shotguns (the majority of firearms owned in the States) cannot defeat soldiers. That's why in Red Dawn, the Wolverines quickly switch to using Russian military weapons.
@@seantylerfermin4927 Aww, are you one of those deluded souls who thinks he could be a guerrilla because he goes to range a couple of times a year with Bud and Hank and shoots a piece of paper?

Take a day off, sweetie.
Beside nukes its funny now that we believed the Russian army was a capable force. This scenario would be over before it started and not as cinematic in real life.
When has the US ever fought a nation 1-on-1 with satellites, Himar grade missiles, storm shadows, global hawks, Leapard level tanks with 10X the budget? Only Russia has. Russia is now in Karkov oblast. It's been 2.5 years and Mauripol hasn't been retaken.
@@mikejezek5214 Those are slow results for both sides. Russia has a lack of logistical competence and effective command structure. Ukraine has little to no money left and lacks the infrastructure to mass produce tanks, aircraft and certain weapons.

Even at the time this game was originally made, the idea that Russia would somehow skip ALL of Europe and NATO, cross the Atlantic Ocean and launch a surprise invasion of the U.S. East Coast without anyone noticing is arguably the most insanely unrealistic thing to happen in CoD, and that's saying something.
Wow that's his game came out in 2009 when i was 21 years old and the 2009 global economic crisis was hitting Extremely hard. Push forward 2024 now im 34 this brings back a lot of good and bad memories. The struggles the millennial generation HAVE to go thru
Tbh, I think it’s very unlikely either side would be able to easily get air vehicles into their opponent’s backyard. Not to mention landing in Alabama, which would essentially be a self deletion mission. Russia (in my opinion) would likely ally with China since they aren’t necessarily on good terms with the US either. China currently has hypersonic missiles, which unless there has been new developments I have not heard of, the US has no effective defense against as of yet (to be fair the Us military is likely not showing all their cards for security reasons). If this still is the case, China (or Russia since I think they too have at least one hypersonic missile) could IN THEORY (and very unlikely to occur) hit the US with one or more that contains some sort of nuclear warhead or EMP (not sure if they’re the same necessarily so I’m gonna keep the separate for right now). But to invade the US? Very unlikely imo. They’d probably use the chance to gain more ground in the pacific (like taking Taiwan) and/or Ukraine. There’s no reason good enough to invade the US that I can think of. Plus you have NATO right at Russia’s doorstep, so good luck even trying to get NEAR the Us.
I can talk about China’s response because I’ve been in country for 5+ years at this point. Realistically, China would politely tell Russia to piss off because they’re not going to attack their number 1 customer. It’s bad for business, and there’s no money to be made. I can see them supplying Russia with weapons and equipment but that’s about it. However in the context of the game, China might do what you said but they wouldn’t risk the lives of their troops unless the mainland or Special Administrative Regions (HK, Taiwan, and Macau) come under attack.

This is even funnier looking back, obviously nuclear weapons are terrifying but Russia can’t even invade the country next to them successfully so this is not a concern

Lol, just the title of this made me laugh. Even though it’s not meant to be a joke it was still pretty damn funny. Then the mission name, “Wolverines” that summed it up for me.
So, here's the deal with Russia’s slow roll in Ukraine. Their military doctrine is all about hitting strategic targets and keeping civilian casualties to a minimum. They’re not going for the shock and awe approach, ya know? Russia is super careful, aiming at military spots, not just bombing everything in sight. This takes time. Saving civilians is a biggie for them. They advance slowly to avoid hurting innocent folks. Russia sees NATO in Ukraine like the US would see Russian bases in Texas. Freak-out levels would be off the charts, and the US would probably react hardcore. US tactics go big, go fast, and collateral damage happens. Russian tactics are slow and steady, keeping civilians safe. Russia’s playing the long game, balancing military goals and keeping non-combatants safe, making the whole thing drag on
I've never played this before, so this makes no sense to me. How is Russia capable of invading America? America outclasses it by an order of magnitude, has no fleet, and then there is the elephant NATO, which stands between Moscow and Washington. Does this make more sense in the game?
It makes even less sense in game because Russia has just been through a long, bloody civil war. Yet somehow, five years later they have a fleet on a par with the USA; something the Soviet Union never had. For how impossible this is, in real life China's military isn't projected to be equal to the USA's until 2060 at the earliest.
The Ural was an asset carried over from CoD4 I believe, they were probably too lazy to make a different model. As for the BTR...idk. They probably thought it looked cooler. Maybe it could be justified by saying they captured an airfield already.
Maybe if they have cloaking tech. But that would required refueling mid air while transporting the supplies and soldiers.... So tbey need a continental aircraft that can reach the US coast without refueling. Second, a cloaking device to mask the vehicle until they reach the US state to where they plan to land. Third, make sure they have numerous of this aircraft, otherwise...
If russia or any invading force were to actually pull off such a surprise attack it would probably be days before the US could recall and eqip the armed forces for a counter attack or to even push them back. The only bet would be the prepared citizens... unless they invade through NY or CA.
yep realistic Russia hasn't got the capability to invade the U.S. conventionally even if they did I don't think they would get very far somehow maybe if the U.S. Navy U.S. Air force U.S. marine core and U.S. army vanished they might have a chance of touching a bit of sand maybe
russia is using another approach - they are owning republican party so orange florida man type of liars can get into the white house and do service for putin and xi by letting world's dictators get a tighter grip around the civilization's neck
Russia in media pre russo-ukrainian war: Yep could invade the US on Friday, turn right around and be all the way to Paris by Sunday while the Americans are still regrouping. Russia in media afterwards: you see ivan you put shed on top of tank and scary drone no longer scary.
They really wanted to justify Russia being able to invade the East Coast but couldn't provide an explanation for how the entire Russian navy could sail past Iceland and the UK without being seen. I mean, physically seen by any of the hundreds of commercial vessels sailing in those waters. At least Red Dawn worked hard to come up with a semi-plausible scenario for the USSR to invade.
