Crazy to think how our media makes this place seem so awful, Russia is absolutely beautiful and rich with history and culture. Proud to have some Russian in me

I like Douglas, he have such a nice place, lots of vegetables and fruits. And he must be very tenderhearted, because he used to keep rabbits but not having a heart to Kill them for meat. Nice video. I had nice time touring Russian villages with you. God bless Russia, and God bless those villagers may they prospers in days to come. God bless you sir.
yes it was really nice to see Douglas and his place. I really enjoyed it to see just nice people.I hope if someone comes by my place I would be just as nice.
Beautiful, quaint and rustic home. Perhaps Douglas was named after Douglas Fairbanks the movie star? All those beautiful churches must have had huge rural populations. Footage reminds me of American mid-west, or great north central plains of Canada too.
Never pay attention to the press! It is always extremely biased, either untowardly against or untowardly for the country. Channels like these are the best way to glean what's going on.
I don't care about bad press: I know Russians from early childhood; it's the same story like with all other countries: governments are the problem, greedy bussinespeople etc.I know Russians, Arabs, Americans etc - mostly nice people and want just one thing: live
Man, the hospitality of villagers doesn't change around the world, does it? They'll share what little they have with a total stranger who passes by. Love it.
I'm English, my partner was Russian. She lived in the city of Perm but we often went north to her family home in the Ural mountains. Propaganda is so far from the truth about the place
This is the best white-fligh i will recommend to everyone ! People are sweet, very polite, altough not "smilers" when you meet them for the first time, but who needs a "false" smile out of politeness and not the heart ?
I was born in Chicago, when was in school my family visited my Aunt in a rural town in Minnesota in summer. I finished school I began to explore the world. I first moved to Texas. There was so much open land. Visiting Mexico was very easy no passports. Same with going to Canada. When I was 50 years old my wife and I became farmers. We visit family near Chicago but only for short visits. I am an Amateur Radio Operator and traveled to Houston Texas with group Cosmonauts to plan for Amateur Radio on the International Space Station.
Douglas Borisovich is a very nice person. Douglas reminds me of my father, Thomas Tobin. Thomas worked in a produce(fruits and vegetables) warehouse in Spokane, Washington, USA.
I grew up in USA. The media here has constantly made Russia out to be our enemy. News shows movies everything. The real Russia is so beautiful and its people are so meek and amazing. I'm grateful my parents raised me to respect everyone. Goes to show how manipulated everyone's media is:( The majority of humankind is beautiful and kind. Your videos remind us of that:) Thank you!
@Moths to the Flame... THE LIES that come out of USA and their western vassals. USA STILL collaborate with Russian - working together sending Russian & American Astronauts to ISS, with Russian built Engines. USA couldn't get into space without Russian Engines. They also collaborate on other ventures, BUT USA like the vassal west countries. have left GOD and taken up relationship with satan and evil. Easy to find if you do simple search outside of MSM. Blessings from Australia an vassal arm of USA.
The more I learn about this beautiful beautiful country the more I feel like I have to go there to see all of this amazing place in person. I could not even thank of a more perfect ideal of heaven on earth Holsteins with horns, sheep in the road, beautiful rivers and ponds, green pastures, no traffic, super nice people great architecture huge beautiful churchs everywhere and on top of all that gardens filled with Cherry's, plums, tomatoes, patatos, carrots, beautiful flowers and the most perfect nabours i want to move there! I love Russia the people, the language, the architecture, the culture, the church, the absolutely unbelievable beauty that is Russia much much love from Missouri, USA✨😁💖💛💜🧡✨💖😁 Я люблю тебя русский!!!!!!!!!!
Douglas is a treasure! God bless him! Feeling sorry for the rabbits! I had a East German great grand mother who used to cry when they had to kill a chicken, I understand Douglas! Thanks for sharing this lovely experience.
Wow! Russian villages are beautiful, so much greenery, rivers and not not to mention nice people. Unlike what we hear about Russia. I love the man who showed you around his compound, very generous man. He almost didn’t want you to go. Lol Please write to him and let him know that he’s a Celebrity and he’s being watched all over the world. Give him my free from Zambia Southern Africa
Wow all the way from Zambia! I gave him my RU-vid channel and his daughter was supposed to show it to him. I hope she also translates the nice comments for him!

Douglas is a wonderful person. He is very welcoming and friendly. He added a great value to your video! Villagers in Sri Lanka are very similar to people like Douglas.

The old gentleman's home reminded me of my grandfather's home. His kindness, the cherries, the plums, and so on. On the other side of the world from Kentucky, and still so much the same.
Sad how politics make us miss what humanity entails. What an interesting and simple life in rural Russia. I would love to live there. Thanks for the video from Kenya.
Douglass was the highlight of the video. What a gentle, friendly soul. When he admitted he felt sorry for the rabbits and couldn't bring himself to slaughter them it just made me love him more. His pride in the beautiful veggies and fruit and his acknowledgement of the "resting" apple tree showed his hardworking, poetic spirit. There should be more Douglass's in the world!
Tears rolled on my cheeks each time i watch your village videos..i miss russia so badly...being an asian i came to russia at age 18 years old to study medicine...this great country and its ppl thought me how life is so hard living there..this nation made me strong and a wise man...now i am 30 married to a beautiful russian wife n 2 kids..a successfull doctor in my homeland...but there is always a wish to come back and live in russia for the rest of my life...planning to buy a land and build a cottage house there soon (загородный дом) thank you mother russia for the gifts you have given me in this life 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@Bugsy Segal i have met skinheads hundreds of times before in russia..thy dont disturb foreigners who can speak the russian language very well..lately past 5 years rarely u bump into skinheads bcs the russian government/police has burried thm all alive..
@Hyperborean Colonialism i was in russia year 2006-2013...volgograd...nobody criticised us foreigners there bcs the city was filled with non russians(caucasians/chinese/africans/arabs)...so thy are used to us anyways..
Since the age 18 i travel from asia to russia alone..by flight..train..bus...there was no such nonsense i encountered in the past 12 years me living n traveling to russia..so stop talking nonsence...i had many affair relationships with russian girls...never faced a problem there...
@Hyperborean Colonialism ok, you might be right about nationalism. As I see news from Russia there is. But I doubt that it is spread everywhere, may be in cities where russians prevail. Take for example Chechnya, Tatarstan, Dagestan, Bashkirya, Kabarda Balkarian republic, Ingushetya, where most of the population are muslims. How russian nationalism can exist there? There are also regions where moslty asians live like Yakutya, Buryatya, Kalmikya, Altay. So I think that nationalism might be only in some regions, it is not spread all over.
@Hyperborean Colonialism You're a bastard, a troll and Russophobe and spread the lie! More than 190 ethnic groups live in Russia and ALL THEY ARE EQUAL. There is NO nationalism and racism in Russia, all nationalities respect each other! The West, as always, composes and spreads a disgusting lie about Russia, accusing it of its own vices, peculiar to the West !!! Russia is God's light and beauty of life, the West is Satanic evil and hypocritical lie !!!
I have never been to Russia and I also miss it so badly! What makes it so intensely beautiful? The wonderful spirits of the people and how it shows in their works. I know Russia has suffered terribly from rural depopulation, thanks partly to catastrophic "help" from the United States in the nineties. I know the people will carry on, despite the discouragements, and Russia is rising to a quiet prosperity it has never seen before. God Bless all. There is a lot more to life than six soft chairs, a 48" television, and three cars. Don't think America is a happy place !
What a wonderful video, the countryside is beautiful, also, thanks for sharing the struggles of the people which can only make them stronger. Cheers from the USA.
A Russian with a Scottish name Douglas. Meaning Dark River. I heard a story of a 19th century English traveller in Russia who met a man with the surname Makinnan. From the Scottish MacKinnon or Son of the Fair one. The man had no idea it was Scottish or who his ancestor might have been.
Kids at school learn about that poet. And have to memorize his verses too. www.rbth.com/arts/2014/10/16/the_scottish_roots_of_great_russian_poet_lermontov_40663.html
And of course, George Learmonth is the ancestor of the great Russian poet Lermontov, equivalent to the great Pushkin. Which unfortunately like Pushkin was killed in a duel at a young age.
@@joepataki9659 I correspond with an American living in Russia. His name in Youtub is "Stan SPb". So his letter: I have been living in Russia, as an American native-born, for 19 years but visited many times since 1976 and have been here to watch the development from the chaotic 90s and post 2000, when Putin took office, I have never seen such a radical change in any large country. Corruption was the norm in the 90s, and average citizens just do not interact with it now. I have several small businesses in St Petersburg and up until about 2004 it was very difficult to do business without bribes and "favors" and my business was hurt by not being involved in that but the straight legal business critical mass hit the tipping point in 2004 or so when there was more legal business with real accounting records that made illegal business harder and harder continue since legal businesses could not account for transactions with illegal entities, there was no paper trail That kept growing until it must be very hard to conduct business illegally now The federal government has been very active in anti-corruption efforts and it really shows. It is now easier to start a small or mid-sized business now, be perfectly legal, and have it succeed far better than now in the US. Most small business fails in the US because of the very high costs of living means the owner burns through their starting capital very quickly on living expenses alone. Taxes are low, city and federal services are easily used, and burdensome red tape has been slashed. From the 90s to 2019, Russia is an easier place to live and have a good life than the USA for many reasons but it is just more honest, open and rational society. Education, housing, cost of transportation, medical care and access to culture is so much better now. Instead of vilifying Russia the US citizens really should look at it carefully to see how Russia turned itself around, but the US is so dominated by nonsense propaganda few people know that about 100 countries have overtaken the US in quality of life for the non-wealthy. It is fun, exciting, humane and a rational place to live and raise a family. I have watched it make the changes that have allowed this. At the same time I remember 35 years ago, the US was a great place to raise a family or start a small business. All that has broken down in a bitterly divided extremely corrupt, angry fearful society where free speech is threatened daily with many words or opinions that will end up causing attacks and violence and no one knows for sure where the next hostility will come from. The US is a stressed out bomb waiting to explode. economic security is one of the missing elements in US society for the 90% and from that lack of security and lack of opportunity, most people are leading difficult lives. The young people have a very bleak future awaiting them with starting life with mountains of debt, few living wage job prospects 20 years of college loans. Bankruptcy awaits if they get sick. Or, with no public transport, the cost of a car and related expenses and high cost of housing means never having the option to be debt free or travel, have savings or have a normal family of their own. But Americans who did not visit for an extended period will never know anything true about Russia. There are thousands of Americans living in Russia and I have met none who want to return to the US, it is just too crazy and angry after such an open friendly place like Russia. From myself I will add the following. I watched dozens of videos from foreigners living in Russia. Among them, a third are Americans. They always speak very positively about Russia. I decided to go there. My friend lived there for 2 years at work.
I grew up in Cuba when Soviet Union was trading with Cuba and helping Cuba. I had the most beautiful childhood ever. So much freedom and security for the children there was and so many fun activities. No cars in the neighborhoods, no drugs, no delinquency. Cuba was a country for children and elders. It is too bad that the Soviet Union dissapeared. Cuba is not the same anymore. I will travel to Russia someday to thanks this beautiful country for my wonderful childhood which I treasured inside me and it gives me the strength I need to survive in this lonely place full of people that only care about money called USA
Russian Plus, you cracked me up when you said that you had seen enough churches in that Kremlin! I wish I could have to seen them all. I love Russian Orthodox Church Architecture, especially rural ones! One of the things I loved most during my visit to Suzdal, was their many churches! Thanks for bringing this village to my attention... now I want to travel there, but I had better take your online Russian Language Classes first!!!

Lovely video and lovely strong hard working people who take great pride in their property. I traveled all over Russia on business for 15 years, so your video tour brought back many nice memories of the people I worked and socialized with, as they always opened up their homes to myself and my delegation. Very generous and hospitable people. May God bless them greatly for their kindness.
What a beautiful place. Can't describe anything. Some ones felt sorry for those people who live here. I can't understand why's that. They are being living in the places without noise, pollution, detergent, crimes. They live in heaven.
hello from China,I have been to Russia once, love there so much.As a tourist I went to big cities in Russia, never had a chance to visit countryside, thank u for showing me ! And your videos are really real, I want to learn Russian but the letter р stops me,literally can not pronounce that.
Amazing similarities of the USA/Russia. I grew up in a small village like these too, in Pokagon, Michigan. I used to play in a barn, in the 1950s, that was a former church. Not realizing it would be restored back to its original beginnings. That barn/church was the birthplace of the worldwide famous Protestant hymn, "The Old Rugged Cross". It is still being used today in all of its glory. God bless you with these wonderful videos.
You're doing a great job, showing Russia what it is. In the villages of Russian people live good-natured. People do not what do not ask, they do everything themselves. Hope in our villages the people begin with the town to relocate. In the village you can raise a lot of children, and in the city a maximum of 2 3 children. I hope the Russian village will become fashionable again and people will restore the forgotten villages
The problem of many countries is dying villages. Young people leave the village and move to cities. This I see in every country. We need a powerful state program to revive life in the villages. This is primarily support for farming.
Douglas was such a fine, friendly man! I bet people feel lonely at times and are happy to see a stranger passing through. I loved his estate, how the buildings formed a cosy courtyard and led to the garden. wonderful place everything is so clean, because the population density is very small, that's the good side: a clean nature with wild edibles at every season, nothing ugly in sight to ruin the landscape. People may be forgotten by the politicians but in a sense it's lucky for them. compared to my country France where there are so many rules and regulations and buying land and building a house is fraught with innumerable occasions for rip-offs and red tape... at least over there you can breathe! I'd like to see how it is in the winter time. Looking at the map, there are no big cities North of Yekaterinburg, only small villages.
They are not alone! Is the hospitality and warmth is the product of loneliness? Is it possible that if I meet a friendly person in France, he is lonely? Just when you go to the country or to the country after a long Russian winter, you want to take a break from the city bustle and crowds. But this rarely happens: we are used to communicating with neighbors, friends, and always welcome guests. It's not from loneliness, it's from our fathers, grandfathers, forefathers...- this Russia.
Really loved your videos on villages,I'm in love with Russian villagers and envy them for having such a healthy life, and It is really true,Russians love gardening,I wish we indians learned that from Russians. With Love to all Russian people,From India:) May the villages of Russia ,emerge again:)
Great video! I love the old country & the people. They’re very tough, self sufficient & kind. Beautiful country, trees, water & architecture. Thank you for showing me this part of Russia!
Great people ? Think how many people they are killed among themself and how many people were killed from neighbour countries ?. West have no clues.! Inly great nations are able recognize their past.Russia is one of them? I doubt it. Human life is worthy anything up there?

Blessings for the man called Douglas B! Kind and caring people like him make me want to see more of this world...before it is destroyed by the greedy and selfish.
Your lady seems to have more respect towards the elderly people than a large portion of the Western population. She was so down to earth when dealing with Douglas. A big thank you for her.
I was so wondered when i found this video because i live in 80km from this place (in our region it's almost near) and it's not a very popular touristic place due to its location. Thank you for sharing our beauty, RussianPlus!
Wow, beautiful villages. I would prefer to live in this kind of place, quiet and simple. That gentleman was really kind to show you around his garden, obviously working hard to grow those vegetable and fruit trees. Thanks for the tour. I wish I could do the same, travelling to the beautiful villages of Russia .
For that Gentleman in this video, this video is being watched all over the world, not regional Russian TV... Hahaha. Thanks for sharing your video Russian Plus.
It took me a minute to realize the narrator is Russian because his English is very good. Even sounds like he knows some dialect. Very honest video. I have to wonder what these villages are like in winter.
I love these videos and I appreciate your candor and honesty. Russia may have it's challenges, but here in the USA we do too! We have serious drug addiction problems too, and mental health issues as well - which leads to homelessness and despair This is not something unique but rather common everywhere. Because I point this out - does not make me less of a patriot! I love my country as you do too - we are just more real about it. We can enjoy the beauty and wonderful things but we are not afraid to address the challenges. You sir, are the truest Russian patriot is know. Thank you and please keep making this content ! I keep honey bees here and would to travel in Russia to learn from the people. God Bless!
I've always have an interest in Russia and seeing these Vidoes has up that interest even more. That tour by Douglass was pretty awesome and that was a nice gesture i might add. The Russian people are pretty kool unlike what is portrayed on mainstream media. I should say that the Country side in Russia reminds me of what use to be my Country life here in Jamaica.👌👍
Great! Really enjoyed the video. What a beautiful country side. Loved the old wooden church by the lake. And Douglas, a delightful fellow. He obviously works very, very hard to keep his lovely home so neat and orderly. Would love to visit some day from Florida but it’s a LONG flight. Keep up the good work.
Great to see the big, beautiful Motherland. So vast yet so little appreciated, so little understood by us in the 'West'. Greetings to all Russia from a small crowded Island. Definitely a country I want to visit, if only to sense the sheer scale of the place. I think the Russian people are incredibly friendly and welcoming to foreigners. The myth we have of them being hostile is completely wrong. Keep up the good work and happy travels.
I love Russia ❤, I am fascinated by its culture, people, history, language, Russian literature, music, and movies, looking forward to visit this beautiful and rich country. I was born and grew up in Iraq, we used to watch many great Soviet, including Russian, movies, that helped us to learn about their culture. Thank you for sharing this amazing video🥰
That lovely man, Douglas! I hope he gets to see himself on TV! It seems so much like America when I was young in the 1950s. I truly love the Russian people because they are so much like me. ❤️👵🏻🇺🇸
Wonderful and again so honest and crude. DOUGLAS was a lovely lonely man, looks like he really enjoyed your company. Places are so serene so as people are so calm and kind :)

Thanks for the personal look at Russia. We know so little about it here in America. I believe the people that I've seen and heard in videos like these could be my real neighbors. The more we learn about each other the better to be able to talk when leaders seem to go into stupid mode. .
There is such a channel. It is called the "Russian Travel Guide". Very informative regarding ancient history and the Russian way of life in the province.
Yes, Richard it's essential that you get to know people and life of common men in Russia. We are all the same - all we long for is peaceful living conditions, natural working environment, meaningful work on the mother Earth.
