One of the reasons westerners (mostly Americans) think we are a very strict country is because of in 1994, we sentenced an American teenager Michael Fay to six strokes of the cane for vandalism. Americans might think we are barbaric to cane someone for vandalism, but as a Singaporean i'm proud we stuck to our guns. Some things like vandalism, drugs, gangsterism, etc are strict no-no... else we can't be that clean and safe place that everyone wants/enjoys.

So far Singapore is still on the right track. Singapore receives at least 1000 Indonesians of overseas graduates mainly from the UK and USA. This is from Indonesia alone, not to mention from The Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, and even the UK and USA. Singapore is heading to an intelligent society. Singaporeans who are on the losing side have many many closest destinations: Penang, Malacca, Batam, and even The UK and the USA.@@smling11

@sjelucten7150
@sjelucten7150 10 месяцев назад
Indonesians could actually be managed this way, but only in certain cities/places where the majority of the people are Chinese descendants. Bangka, Belitung, Pontianak. (PBB people call them). Malaysia could be prosperous as well in certain areas such as Penang, and Malacca, close to the borders with west Kalimantan (West Borneo) due to their Chinese descendants. But politics make it impossible for them to prosper as fast as in Singapore. Many Hakkas, Fuchienese, and Teochews left for Perth, Sydney, even NYC, LA, New Jersey, Germany, The Netherlands, and Singapore because they didn't want their descendants to work so hard for the countries, only to be blackmailed, victimized, killed by those who thought their poverty is caused by the local Chinese. Sad, but it's the reality that needs to be told to the indigenous people. Better let the Chinese prosper and enjoy partially of the prosperity or killed, chase the Chinese away, and suffer eternal poverty because of a lack of trading and businesses. Indonesia. According to one study, needs 1600 + small and middle businesses, Well who are the business owners? The locals just want to be civil servants and earn a lot more than their salaries, it's called corruption !!!

My dad is the only person I know who got fined for littering 😂 This happened in the 80s / 90s. He only got caught because he littered in plain sight of a police officer hahahaha, I’ve never heard of anyone else in my social circle getting caught for it. You probably already know this, but such laws were introduced to tackle the growing pains of transitioning from a piss poor village to first world metropolis. Singaporeans had to learn to live like city dwellers in 1 generation. My dad grew up a village boy without running water, but now we’re comfortably living in high rise apartments and first world amenities. That doesn’t mean civilised habits just naturally spawned, there was a huge government undertaking to educate the people and regulation was liberally used to shape socials norms.

Russian and those westerners cannot fit into local Singapore cultures and customs. It is best those westerners leave Singapore as soon as they can .. it is hard to accept them as part of Singapore

The waiting list is too long. Even Americans and English people are on the list. Singapore is small and they are expecting young fresh graduates with honors from overseas universities Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, MIT, Monash, New South Wales, Melbourne University, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and from foreign students in Singapore from Nanyang, NUS universities as well from neighboring Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philipines even Greece.

Lived in Siberia before coming here to SG - went to live in Russia to study how their society transitioned after the collapse of the Soviet union. I've always felt that if the USSR successfully transitioned into a capitalist economy, it would very much resemble SG. Many things Russians and SG folks have in common.

Actually if I were in charge of approving citizenship for SG, I would be very cautious to approve a popular influencer. It is very easy for someone to switch camps. You may be an asset to Singapore now but if you turn to the dark side in the future, you can be a very heavy liability. It is almost impossible to revoke your citizenship once handed to you. This is just my opinion. Your videos are great by the way.

It doesn’t make any sense at all to generalise about RU-vidrs. Even elected politicians and military personnel who are supposed to be extremely loyal have betrayed their country.

I feel that if there's a lot of cars behind, just go lol. I think we're so used to small road giving way to main road that no one will complain so much. I do that when i'm walking at a zebra crossing, if there's no people behind me and i just quickly let all the cars go ahead first, it's quite poor thing waiting for slow pedestrians who take their own sweet time 😅

All the ding dongs who complain life in Singapore is difficult and expensive really need a trial in other major cities around the world. You will see how much worse it is there. As someone who grew up in other countries (including a few third world countries), I can tell you, Singapore really is haven compared to those places.

what can happen to Singaporeans if world war 3 may occur and the major problem is where to get the fresh water resources especially those who stay in high rise buildings due to everything collapse but it's definitely different if you stay in a bigger area such as Malaysia Thailand or Indonesia .
