Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is an Indian diplomat and politician serving as the Minister of External Affairs of the Government of India since 30 May 2019.
He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha since 5 July 2019. He previously served as the Foreign Secretary.
Jaishankar played a key role in negotiating the Indo-US civilian nuclear agreement.

Sikhs from India who have emigrated to canada demanding for khalistan - a separate state for sikhs in India. Also conducting rallies, movements. Violence happened in some places in both countries between one the supporters and non suppprters of movement. Canada issued travel advisory guide urging its citizens to br cautious while travelling india. After some hours of this act, india also issued advisory guidelines for Indians staying in india.

One of the reference was why purchasing oil from russia. India purchased because russia gave it on lesser price due to larger bulk deal compared with other countries. India had some financial savings there. Jayshankar boldly did the deal without consent or mediation of any other country especially g- 7. During tht russia- ukraine war was at peak . So he explained tht even eurooean union buys so and so things, even so many times more . They should be asked or questioned first before india

Being an Indian, I can say with confidence and pride that India had earlier been a slave of Britain but India has learned to cope with that situation and now India is not a slave of anyone. @@Ydvav_Abhishek there are only very few countries left after the sanction which can do trades with china and there are only 2 major business partners for russia india and china...both the countries are the reason russian economy running....defense is major source of money for russian economy and indian and china both invest a lot for defence and in Russian defense programs so at the end it's business... it's not like they have option to trade with us... it's necessary otherwise their economy will collapse

Sikh separatists in north india had carried out a lot of terrorist attacks starting from 1970s and 1980s, I think well until early 2000s. Encouraged and aided by pakistan. Many of them had emigrated to Canada, where Sikhs are an important voting block for the ruling liberal party. Look up Air India Flight 182 bombing. Also, frequently the target of the attacks were hindus, not necessarily Indian. There were series of attacks in New Delhi for example, where transistor radio bombs would be left in buses, which would go off if someone turns them on. I remember visiting New Delhi as a child, and was advised to not touch any electronics that I saw in public places, but to call authorities. With that background, both of the terrorist movement, as well as Canada's protection of it for a long time, recently the Indian secret service probably directly or indirectly ordered a hit on one of the key figures in the movement, a person who had a warrant out in India since 2010 ish, and who had escaped India for Canada. That person was assassinated in Canada, and that was what the kerfuffle was about
