Von Flames cold starting his V8 Gaz 66 in the UK, which could quite possibly be the equivalent of the middle of summer in Russia...
Tighten up those tappets kid!!

Real life Spintires machine.
Quite a bit of condensation through the stainless exhaust - should have put the tin bath out and bathed the kids while I had the opportunity...

In the process of bringing one of these back from Czech but with a Unimog engine and gear box. Thankfully the gear lever now sticks through the engine bay. Would love to see a video of you actually driving the truck!

It was a very common truck in the finnish army a couple of decades ago. I have driven one of those myself in early 80's. Not good but interesting. Nice engine sound. I myself preferred Sisu A-45. Much better in many ways.

Someone here still thinks that summer in Siberia is like +3. NOPE! Summer is short, but in many places in Siberia, +35 is just as possible as -35 in winter. That statement that +3, +5 is the summer applies only like to the north coast and towns there (Dikson, Tiksi) Other than that, beast machine! Love the sound!!!

Thank you for an interesting video. Is there anything of interest in the back of the truck. The back shape looks typically Russian military, and very similar to the Zil 131 military trucks that I have worked on and driven in the U.K. Examples of the things that the trucks may be fitted out for, in addition to just general cargo carrying are, power generating trucks, aerial carrying trucks - a large aerial that can be assembled and then wound up, command truck, mechanical or electrical service truck. A video of the inside of the rear compartment might be of interest.

I'm interested in the Gaz 66, just started to research them on You-tube and such. How reliable is it? Thats the gas (petrol) engine in yours? I live in western Canada, Alberta to be precise and we get Siberia weather here! The truck may like it but I sure as hell don't !! I haven't looked into importing one into Canada yet but I surely will. I'd be more interested in a diesel engine though as opposed to gas (petrol) Just a personal preference of mine. I own and operate a long haul truck and so am diesely inclined. Also with a radio box on it, not just a tarp over a flat deck. I have an idea to make it into a camper (caravan).

Hello from russia, from owner track like this in the past. This track is an extremely reliable. Just big pieces of steel and nothing more :) But there are some nuances about this car: old petrol V8 OHV engine designed for A-76 gasoline, heater is only comfort option in cabin, unusual ergonomic) Modifications with diesel engine are rare but exist. And here some video clip about this car: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GFBfDT_LuwM.html

Have you thought about removing the inefficient and under powered Petrol engine, and replace it with a turbo-diesel from a Mercedes or another vehicle with an engine block of the same size?

It would be a shame to alter this one as its complete and original , It's got plenty of power for what it is. I don't let "economy" get in the way of hobbies, if I did, I wouldn't have bought ex-military trucks to start with...

At the sale of military property. At least in Russia, Belarus or Ukraine. They are sold out of conservation. In fact, they are not expensive, even the armored personnel carriers. But delivery and customs costs are likely to be more than the price of a car. True, once I came across a video where the old ZIL-131 was revived, I really don’t remember it was in the USA or Canada. It looked abandoned, overgrown with grass and was clearly used for work. In general, if we are talking about North America, then Canada is a place where you can find Soviet cars that were delivered back in Soviet times. And in Europe, theoretically on it you can return home on your own. p.s. I apologize for the Google translation.
