Yes they are, but they are also ordinary citizens. They have one of two choices really - walk away to an uncertain future in a foreign country with nothing more than the shirts on their backs, or stand and defend their homes, their families and everything their lives mean. I think the majority of people in that situation would stand and fight, I would probably do the same, so would you (of course, neither of us will ever know until we are faced with that situation). Whether it is a brave decision or not we will never know, but they have made the decision to die rather than give up everything that is precious to them. I hope that whatever happens, they experience peace again, in this life or the next if that exists and I hope that the people who created this situation see justice for it. Wherever you are, stay safe, buddy!
