Summer of 1995, riding around the Lake in a Geo Tracker, blasting this disc…my sister Graduated from Nursing School that year. They all danced down the aisles to it, as they proceeded to the stage for their degrees❤️
+Kiks' that's not at all the feeling state I get. That just seems like some Facebook meme retardation. This song makes me feel like it has nothing to do with other people and society and that farce
+Yukon It me feel like I'm in the right track. That I should enjoy the moment and find happiness in process and the journey itself rather than use the present as a mean towards happiness.
First heard this song as a child, watching Ice Age with my dad. It quickly became our favorite movie to watch together, goofy bastard would mimic Sid. Always made me laugh, still does too. That was 10 or 11 years ago I think. He's gone now, off to the silent choir. But that's okay. I've got songs and memories like these. Thank you, Rusted Root.
Just a few days ago my best friend was ripped tragically from my life in a fatal car accident. This was his favorite song and the first thing we ever bonded over. Love and miss you Adiv.
Dear Noah, I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost so many loved ones in my life and all I can say is savor every moment with your loved ones and say you love them because those may be your last words. May God hold you close and heal your soul. 🙏🏼💞
I can be 4 miles into a 5 mile run, feeling exhausted and dragging legs. Then this song comes on in my earbuds and I take off flying the last mile, doing a weird running-with-arms-flailing-around thing. Love it!!
will harris Brings back nothing. I have no feeling of nostalgia whatsoever. Barely touched my soul. But good song nonetheless. I doubt anything will touch my soul, as I'm still at my early age of life. If you know what steps in when you're a teen.
This song just brings back so many memories, always get emotional listening to it for some reason, can always remember it from the end of Matilda when i was younger!:)
Ive known this song for years, but I never knew what it was called. I knew all the words and chords, but I didn't know what it was called. Finding it has made me so happy.
When I listen to this song I hear my days in dance class in high school. I hear when I used to express myself and was care-free and happy. I hear determination, endurance, all the life lessons Mrs. G taught us. I feel so nostalgic listening to this, wishing to go back. ):
You know what brought me here? It wasn't Matilda or Ice Age it is the great musicianship of the members of Rusted Root. I have seen them live four times now and they are amazing performers and incredible artists. Enjoy the beautiful music because it doesn't matter where we heard it first it just matters that we are all enjoying this amazing music.
I love this song. I never heard of it before, neither in a film or elsewhere, since my boyfriend showed it to me. We used to have a long-distance relationship and this is the song that he first showed me when I first got to know him. This is always our song and it reminds us of our dream to one day life in a little hut in south africa on the bay in the woods, just us two :) I love it.
For anyone wondering, this is the early version of the song from the first Album. The version in Ice Age and Matilda was a later version from a different album. You can tell this by the vocal track and the lack of multiple guitars in the intro.
man.... being totally honest but god damn that sounds so great. Driving.... just absolutely peaceful. I lived in the mountains of WV and KY and id just go on drives for a few hours, specially when it was raining. Do wish id had a good buddy in the form of a dog on the road with me... Damn there were 3 or 4 day trips in an expedition... Wasting a 100$ in gas was only worth it when i was really down.
today when i was making pancakes i randomly thought of this song but i couldnt remember where i knew it from or any words to find it then someone posted a video of matilda making pancakes (bc its pancake day) and this song was playing i was like :o
At my funeral i want everyone to wear white and and have everyone hold balloons and share there best memories. & when there done they will let go of the balloon and let them fly away while this song is playing in the back round on repeat. That's all i want. No sermons, priests or dark thoughts. Just Love
I was searching for this track for years! Because it´s not given in the amazon track list of the OST. Now I´m very happy to hear it cause it makes me reminding the old times :)
16 to 17 years ago or round about I took my daughter to see Jewel in West Palm Beach and Rusted Root opened for her. It was AMAZING! That was the first time we were exposed to their music and I can tell you now they are one of our top top favorites Ever. There for awhile we went to every concert presented in our area which now includes Tampa area. Last time I seen them was in St Pete and took my 70 year old mother. We had a great time!! Some fantastic girls that were so amazingly talented played prior to them...so wish I got their CD. when people say wow...this song brings back good memories...I have a lot with Rusted Root music. Bless Them😘
I remember hearing this song on the radio when I woke up on a road trip with my parents and my brother in South Africa as we pulled up to a steers for breakfast. Ah the good ol days back when SA wasn't an absolute shit hole.
and yes I totally agree, this song is about adventure, the happiness and perseverance that goes with it, meeting new people and seeing new places. Friendship that can form and lasting memories, both good and bad!! Awesome tune this is !!
I've heard this a million times before since I was a kid and it now sounds so full and wonderful it so beautiful Don't ever think you know what is real to you and what is needed but so lost since we were gifted 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Hey you, yea you! I just wanted to you to know that when youre feeling down, maybe things arent going right or you got some bad news. Just know.... I WOULD LIKE TO REACH OUT MY HAND. AND WE WILL RUN, WE WILL. AND WE WILL CRAWL, WE WILL! 😄
Me and my mom used to always watch matilda and nightmare before christmas together when I was a kid. Those were the best years of my life. Just hearing this song almost makes me wanna tear up with joy and it brings the biggest smile I've had in a long time :,) -3
I just watched ice age for the first time and I cried and tried to sing the lyrics because it reminded me of Matilda, my favorite movie when I was about 8. I still love the movie 5 years later(:
I absolutley love this song. Sounds indian. It reminds me so much of ICE AGE. I remember singing along with this when I was little when my mom put the movie on.
