Were you also aware that the Law was able to travel around without a care in the world because every criminal knew they were absolutely off limits and therefore couldn't be involved in a crime?
@@ronfino I agree 100% it's sad because there's so much potential in something like a living breathing St. Denis. There are incredible modding tools to make any kind of custom content you can dream of and there's just zero effort.
i love how historically accurate this is. where raiders would hold people hostage, then get threatened by a teleporting law enforcement telling them they can't "hold lawman hostage" and "if you don't put your gun away, you're getting banned." easily the most accurate depiction of the 19th century west
I feel like if admins aren't allowed to be played with like every other person, then they just shouldn't be allowed to make a character or play at all. They should just be there to ban people if they break a small set of reasonable rules. Why can't more roleplay servers just be like that? How fucking hard is it?
I thought roleplaying servers allowed you to do what you couldn't in real life like criminal activity. But what it really is, it's for people who don't get noticed in life to have "power" in a game while in real life they don't have any, so they set rules like laws that restrict the server from being an actual roleplaying server because people cry when they die in a game.
As usual, we've learned 2 things: 1. There is no scrap of power too pathetic to go to someone's head. 2. Role players will never just grab a great opportunity to role play.
@@jhonviel7381 D&D and any sort of roleplaying game for that matter has these sorts of people but sometimes you really find some nice fellas and have a good time
Yup. Rules should be bendable on servers like this. If you are doing something with intent to create quality roleplay for all involved it shouldn't be an issue
My favorite Western is the one where the robbers ambush the sheriff and take him captive, but he escapes at the last minute by quoting the server rules and spawning in an admin to save him.
Law enforcement debating throwing a man back into a deep pond because he was potentially illegally saved from drowning is such a great unintentional comedy skit.
@@chucktom7783 That's actually accurate. It differed by jurisdiction, like modern law, but many towns really did have laws against carrying weapons within town limits and required that people check their weapons in when entering the town.
That's because most of these people (like every single tiny woman admin, weird archetype) have nothing in their lives. Which is what draws them to games like this and SecondLife, etc. When you have a garbage, dumpster pit of an existence, with nothing to call your own and nothing to smile about and nothing to bring you happiness, and then a game gives you a physically fit, successful, capable facade, you defend it with every dying breath. They are pathetic and sad and miserable, and they carry that misery through their lives and into the game. I would pity them if they weren't so unrelentingly bitter.
A group of bandits harassing lone wanderers is a GREAT opportunity for the law enforcement to roleplay, especially when one of their own was caught. They could've armed themselves and attempted to negotiate 1 on 1 with daniel before they realised it was useless and had a shoot out. Instead they cried like babies and had it immortalised on YT lmao.
Better yet, make a HRP server, say you need mods/jannies, never talk to them directly, and then fuck with them none stop as a normal player that just keeps "hacking" back in.
I've done something similar to a gmod server network called icefuse. My boy was staff so he would tell me private info on the server and would give me teamspeak perms in staff channels etc. Shit was pure gold I would just join on sockpuppet accounts and impersonate "high rank" (lol) people maybe say some uncharacteristic things in text chat, drop a couple staff secrets, and quit. Then just watch pure chaos unfold on my friends side of things.
"Can you please stop trying to find weird gray areas in the law?", asked the admin of an RP server in a wild west video game. Yeah ok, we'll get right on that.
I like how all the good Samaritans who stopped to help just accepted the trick and went on with their lives, but the lawman who applied for a special role on the server with more responsibilities has an utter panic attack at the idea of being humiliated that they instantly cry to those more powerhungry than them for coddling.
I saw this clip on twitter and thought they were robbing the dudes of money or whatever which would at least explain the salt. To see that they were just making them spin in circles... Christ how pathetic are you to not just laugh and play along?
An entire montage of people getting ambushed, most of them laughing because it's great RP UNTIL a mod and his admin babysitter comes along and fun time's over. Why does it always end like this
The admins are losers because they break RP but I think it's fine for the law enforcement people to be the way they are, it's part of RPing. if that's not your thing, cool, but you don't need to be all judgy about it.
This hits too close to home. I lost my great grand papi when he drowned in a paddling pool, I went to save him but my brother grabbed me at the last second and reminded me it's technically against the rules as the water is too deep. Rest easy grand papi
Good thing he stopped you too! Otherwise the cops would’ve hogtied him and thrown him back in, then probably fined you for breaking the rules. You oughta thank your brother! Saving grand papi from becoming gator chow would’ve been an illegal offense
Dude, it really sucks about your papi, but settle down. All your papi had to do was respawn. However, if you broke a rule and saved him, you would have risked being permanently banned from the earth server by God, the prepubescent admin of the Universe.
I cant believe that first cop is so adamant on not allowing himself to have any fun he calls an admin on what was most likely the most interesting scenario that server had ever seen lmao
Was in the video, spent a bunch of time on that server. Can 100% say you are correct. The only thing to ever happen on that 'rp' server was people arguing in valentine on the street in front of the police department and rdm'ing each other.
@@JohnSmith-mc2zzYeah my assumption is that in this game you can be revived from anything so for roleplay purposes they say u can't be revived from a successful dump otherwise u could never fullkill anybody
Ah, the Universal rule of "If there is a security or law enforcement role within a role-playing game, there will be no less than 85% of those who frequent that role who will desperately try to exert absolute authority over others to either a) feel better about their impotency or b) satisfy sociopathic tendencies without the stress of needing to look a man in the eye". I have yet to see this rule broken.
There are at least an equal if not greater amount of people out to explicitly piss off the sec./LE roles in an RP situation as well, so overall it can easily become a shitshow if everybody isn't mentally and emotionally mature, and if they can retain a sense of humor. But online interaction in general hugely attracts the neurodivergent and every single shade of social maladjusted creature with an internet connection. So like, people shit on certain sites or forums for having rules and clamping down on trolls or other real dangers like doxxing/hacking, but you actually want/need that stuff. At the same time, someone losing their entire shit over someone saying "This is America", in RDR2 online is incredibly absurd and hilarious. They should be stripped of any power and made fun of.
@pesvids6673 Yeah, his accent sounds like he grew up in Europe somewhere but moved to the US at a youngish age, like 11. I've heard him speak German, and the vocabulary is very similar to Dutch. He does sound very American, though. His accent is very subtle.
He purposely annoys people for content. That first prank was very mild compared to his other stuff and the admins decided to have a power trip. What losers.
@@justincider8892first one isnt even a prank. That legit happens in every game and even in irl. Not only that it's fucking hilarious. It makes 0 sense to say its baiting
Typically the people who are admin on these servers don't actually get joy from roleplay or have the creativity to create roleplay scenarios so they get their entertainment from the power tripping and rule reciting to people.
These rules are all over the place. Brandishing is apparently against the law but straight up murder doesn't even get a reaction out of them. Top level RP.
i think its moments like those that make the internal politics of these servers so apparent. like clearly that guy was "top dog" in the server so the rules dont really apply to him
Honestly I can't imagine being such a miserable person. It's a video game and they're treating it like it's reality. Sounds like they'd be better in second life.
@@Lunk42 Nah, that's just it: they're not treating it as reality, cause everything that happened before the admin stepped in was realistic and historically accurate (perhaps except the "you have to spin around 10 times and say X"). The problem is that they're treating it like a video game which needs safe spaces so everyone can be comfy n safe n have fun n snugglez... When I grew up, I quickly learned that you can mute/block people you don't wanna interact with, and that worked fine.
I can never get enough of daniel making no life powertripping roleplayers and admins lose their shit by simply being there and saying like two sentances.
its just too easy, people with a fragile ego and insecurities get triggered by the slightest interruption and you dont even have to do anything from there, they troll themselves
@owen6478 Yeah if you listen to the first clip their voice is a lower pitch. In the second clip they sound like a squeaker. Def some perv with a voice changer.
I love how everybody is trying to follow rules and RP, but if a person drowns deeper than a ankle height they break the character so they can argue if the water was deeper than an ankle height and if its even right to help you. What a intense immersion.
EMT: “I need a ruler over here! I can’t save this man until this body of water is measured!” Or how about the fact you can’t open carry with the given reason “its 1901 not 2023” as if his line of thinking is “people only started owning guns recently”.
Daniel's roleplaying skills are unmatched. He displays a keen understanding of social dynamics and subtle manipulation techniques. It's impressive to see how effortlessly he navigates situations and influences others.
My favorite part of wild west history was when pat garrett took down billy the kid by saying "I'm law enforcement and you can't trap a law enforcement officer" and had an admin come to ban billy
The irony is they aren't even roleplaying, saying you can't lure a lawman into a trap because it's 'against the rules'. It's just a pathetic tantrum when things don't go their way.
Youd expect thr girl to give a logical or RP reason but immediately just goes into the rules out of character. Lazy RP'r couldve been a decent RP interaction but killed it by instantly falling into the rules
@@7GamesUnlimited7I also find it weird that holding a lawman captive is against the rules. Considering that actually happened many times in the wild west to lawmen and marshals going after bounties.
@@7GamesUnlimited7 Idk its probably because people would ONLY kill the cops n stuff, but tbh all of this RP crap is cringe asf if people take it seriously. On the other hand it produces videos like this, soooo, idk
its incredibly stupid to have in-world characters be server staff why would you allow characters that arent allowed to interacted with in certain ways, its designed for powertripping losers
The beginning montage is such a great part of this, people having fun with the RP and following along in character until the fun police come in, break character and demand that nobody rps
its a shame, these private servers are the only way to play RDO without a fuck ton cheaters. The official servers just have hundreds of script kiddies running around and rockstar dont give a shit. But then the private admins are all power tripping dictators in their little kingdoms
you guys are so dumb, without these people trolling wouldn't even exist. these people provide joy. they are the backbone of the internet. they are heroes.
Its just insane how frequently they lack any capacity to roleplay on a ROLE PLAY server they moderate and the second anything happens outside of what they deem correct they freakout. Its like they are unable to understand what improv is, or that it even exists.
"Tell me if these words sound familiar to you..." is one of the coolest RP moments you can possibly have and they're all actively trying to sabotage it holy shit
Imagine having something this cool happening on your WILD WEST server and you shut it down while roleplaying as an untouchable government official.. control is a helluva drug
Yeah they shouldn't do that, if they're really needing to shut things down due to hacking / cheating, appear as an admin. Government characters shouldn't just automatically be immune, that's not like life at all especially in the wild west era. It really gives an example of how whatever small town law enforcement might feel before engaging with say, a whole gang of armed robbers on horseback. One single dude is not going to be able to get them all off their horses and arrest them all because he's the law LOL And in this case the dude ends up calling mommy over to fix the problem because he didn't want to spin and admit he's an idiot and made a huge mistake... lots of ego at play here, that's the only part that is realistic haha
Normal Players getting trapped: "Ah damn you got me, alright I'll spin around to save my own skin. This is a dangerous land, and maybe I should rethink my villanous ways" Law enforcment tripping on minor power getting tripped: "NOOOOOO THIS IS AGAINST THE RULES!" *Admin swarm descends and starts dishing out bans*
It's bizarre to me that they can't tell the difference between griefing and genuine fun RP-shenanigans. It's like a community of people that's gotten kicked out of their local tabletop for being rulelawyers and killjoys.
@@infantiltinferno It's probably less they can't tell, and more they can't take any RP where they're not the winner. I guarentee you that Officer, and that "Government Agent" probably have the best time when they're lassoing people, or performing arrests. But the second they're the ones being heald up their power fantasy just crumbles and they can't take it. That's why all these RP servers have rules about having to tell people you're about to shoot them, or not being allowed to entrap officers or random shit
@@foxhoundoperator4597 It very much is what you just said, like actually it's scary accurate, I used to play on a DayZ RP server and this shit happens way too often. It's suddenly great when the assailants are having a good time but when it's their turn on the chopping block, it's not so fun anymore. Typical can't take what you dish out attitude.
I dont know why they even have their own RP term for something that only exists out of RP, like there would be no logical reason to bring an admin encounter up in character
I'm sure the admins to this server have been sent this vid and are absolutely malding and patting each other on the back on how they're right and it's everyone else who is wrong.
Fucking hilarious that the officer at 6:07 knew and remembered the embarrassing encounter and even remembered the words! And then just him saying "Do these words sound familiar" - That's some good stuff.
He seemed like the only dude trying to shift this back into RP. I think he also laughs when he hears Daniel say "We should make new rules!" It's always interesting to see the people that are in these RP servers that don't have a huge ego but they seemed to be drowned out from the control hungry, power tripping types of people.
the shot @3:16 of the circle of admins is just absolutely hysterical. They need like 8 people having a "serious" discussion on what to do with a bunch of outlaws
@@nsalieister3334 I love the follow up where he is still RPing properly and they are all breaking character and their own rules then goes of the deep end killing him. Reddit admins Gmod admins and now RDR2 Admins are all the same disgusting nepotistic less than human people.
@@snintendog The admins that couldnt make it in the GTAV scene usually get stuck running RDR2. It’s hilarious how upset they seem compared to the GTA ones.
One thing I learned from my experience in RP is that it's never about roleplaying. It's all about power and control over others. As soon as you start playing in a way that puts power in your hands, they will quickly take it away from you.
That’s how exactly how this looks to me. I’ve heard similiar horror stories from RDR2, so this video wasn’t surprising. Sorry that happened bro. Get some trusted friends together and try again. Don’t let the power hogs get you down.
Had a DM B****tch out in my second DND ever [Likely the last] 1. thief being sneaky fails on everydoor and trap check. 2. Paladin got a good combo going for dealing with enemies DM didn't like it kept making everyone else miss 9 out of 10 attacks. 3. it culminated to a deadend map design made specifically to kill us with 200 goblins... we nearly cleared the room he bitches out goes all WOKE racist on us using every slur he can think of and blocks us all in a span of minutes. Rule of thumb don't trust Canadians.
Elite Dangerous fell down this downward spiral, albeit through a lack of in-game systems from the developers to handle player crime properly. Getting ganked in an early ship sucks and people who prey on new players are scum, but it's an intended part of the game; eventually you should have ships where you can survive and even fight back against people that pick a fight with you. But armchair Napoleons will sit at the planet with the first engineer (ship upgrade specialist) and shoot down people flying early game ships to her, which just pushes people to play in solo or in PvE servers, which just kills most potential player interaction. In Elite's case, as soon as you start playing in a way that puts power in your hands (interdicting players, attempted piracy, etc.), the players will just quit, either to play solo or quit the game entirely.
@@McLainCraft I used to play Arma 3 RP in 2016/17. I did have lots of fun back then but the power struggles killed the whole RP vibe. I eventually realised ‘roleplay’ was just the word used to stop people killing on sight. It was pretty much cops and robbers but you had to ‘initiate’ an interaction before any shots could be made which made it more fair. Looking back those were the best gaming days of my life. It’s not the same anymore.
Ah yes, when RP is codeword for "I make a server with arbitrary and absurd rules so when someone breaks or questions them I can bully them and feel better about myself"
The idea of the admins being federal agents, in a game where everyone plays an outlaw, doesn’t quite work the way they intend it. “I am a government agent!” “We know” RAK-KAH
Think about it from a roleplay perspective, they're so immersed in their role of administration that they believe themselves to hold such an important responsibility. Therefore they act out like if they have to be serious 24/7 and some type of authoritative judge who has no humanity. Good mods hate to ban people and will utterly and absolutely avoid it whenever they can, in fact good mods will hate their own fucking job because it's a pain in the ass. When you hear a mod being too vocal about how they hate certain members, or that they distance themselves from the 'common member' than you can be assured that they are shit.
Love how Daniel and his people are actually roleplaying, but they can't roleplay because you can't take a government official hostage. Sad how red dead 2 has come to this. In gta rp, you can't do gta driving because it isn't "realistic", but you can actually do gta driving in real life.
I also love how the normal players at the beginning were such good sports and played along and were having fun with Daniels group, but the moment someone with power gets caught in it, its suddenly not ok.
In this video you notice that there are still a lot of peoples who can have genuine fun. The dude who came and spinned around laughed wholeheartedly because they got tricked but in such an amazing way you can’t help but respect the trickers.
The part where they were begging for shekles from the Vietnamese gent, especially the old man gave me waves of hallucinogenic laughter😂 His "kingdom" 💀
It's like watching police brutality happen in a virtual space. These people have the same behavioral patterns as ACTUAL abusive cops, it's actually kind of fascinating. I feel like you could do a study on this lol
Banned for following a command and walking back to his group. Just like getting shot while trying to follow conflicting orders shouted by cops with their guns aimed at your face
I'd have to say my favorite part was when you were saved from the deep water, I really liked it when he took you out of the deep water to help you out. If you had stayed in that deep water you would have been totally done for. I know that they shouldn't have gone into the deep water to save you, as it was more than ankle depth. But when they went into that deep water to save you, they did you a solid.
Just imagine what the guys would’ve had to say to the admin “Yeah so I basically got robbed by half naked dudes in a circle and then forced to spin around 10 times saying I’m dumb and got tricked”
Wild how rp servers shut down funny and unique interactions like this the moment law enforcement is involved also my favorite part was how the admin spawned right into the conversation yet still tried to keep the dialogue rp friendly by saying "Why are you aiming at me? I'm a government official."
It's just a bunch of power trippers that wouldve been just the same tard and shit if they were in the real world working as a cop or anything else. Just corrupted self entitled cunts.
seriously. so the fun has to be dictated by the admins, if it goes even slightly outside of their overton window or if someone gets their feelings hurt, they ban
I love how the doctors try and pretend like theyre being secretive and trying to avoid any trouble from the Admins like theyre some sort of dark, omnipitent godlike force.
@@camborghini5062 I think it's something to do with body dumping rp or just drowning and being unable to resuscitate, but I have no real clue why they'd need waders for that if that was the case...
"we cannot save you, the water is too deep" Good heavens, what would we do if the players had a chance to have *FUN* in a *GAME*. For real, what enjoyment do these people get out of games with this many rules?
