The most baffling thing about these videos is that regardless of whether the people involved are 9 or 19 years old the level of maturity doesn't seem to differ at all.
@@axmoylotl same man I used to kill time in dark rp servers while just wandering and laughing at peoples conversations, this would have been the time of my life I would be dying
I didn't even recognize the scope of genius that is the Hotel segment until I watched this a second time. The whole thing is just so well done, and the ending is amazing. I wish I had experienced it firsthand.
I swear that Daniel is actually a government agent tasked with doing psychological experiments based on stress which is the Daniel meter, and these videos are just highlights of his recordings that disgustingly enough found amusing so they're put on this channel to try to hide his true purpose...either that or he's actually a brilliant troll, either one could work.
righ! this drove me nuts. i often think about how a lot of seemingly random frustration and mishaps in life are due to someones inability to recall one minute, but distinct, detail
26:14 *Hello?* (Breathing) *I can't pinpoint your location.* Are you a bot? You are, aren't you. *Hello?* You're a bot. *Where are you?* I don't know. *I can't pinpoint your location.* I don't know where I am. *Where are you?* I don't know! I'm still in here. *Hello?* You aren't a real person. You aren't real. *Park Enjoyed?* Noo!!
Someday, scientists will analyse the *extreme* mental duress inflicted that day. The results will change psychology forever. Honestly, the amount of effort put into this is ridiculous, but so worth it.
Daniel is like an actual John Kramer, I’m terrified of the day he gets bored of video games and starts doing this to people in real life to get his sick kicks.
This has to be the single greatest coded/edited map in existence for any game. The thought process and effort put into making this both horrifying and perfect is something only a few people in the world can do. Absolutely amazing dude. Wow
@@kapnkool Invisible teleporters to a near identical place, when you enter a room, you are teleported to an identical copy of that room, but everything else in the hotel has changed.
The amount of work that went into this video still astounds me. One thing I never really get is how the vast majority got so invested and mad about it so quick, why didn't they just leave!? I imagine this must've just been a random server, why did people stay so long and get annoyed enough to scream at Eric and threaten to DDOS the place? I guess the sheer want to see what's in the rest of the park and Daniels just not letting them lol
It's kids with no money to buy "real" games, and this mod probably took them like an hour or two to download, so they really are trying to make it work for themselves.
No joke, that part where they look behind the cut-out NPC and fall through the floor was actually really good game design, you used the focal point of the scene to help them progress. It's like in the opening of Dark Souls 2 where you're in the woods and don't really know where you're going except for that beam of light that draws you toward the path.
I'd also compliment that part where they go down a stairs but begin falling rapidly That's such a clever idea for a horror moment, a really well done sense of losing control
I made a prison RP and it was a bunch of people spending hours complaining that there is nothing to do. Bunch of people spawn in a single cell with nothing to do. They complain that this isn't a prison RP because they want to be able to escape lol
Well prisons have time for recreation, a cafeteria, etc. So if you just stick someone in a room and thats all there is to it, its not a prison rp. Its just a room.
24:25 is me. I remember seeing this sever on gmod with one person on and wanted to check it out, the guy sounded familiar when he spoke only once to me. I had a feeling it was Daniel... my friend who I joined with was convinced he was an AI. Very memorable and terrifying experience.
That room sequence had me on the edge of my seat the entire time, never have I at the same time been so terrified and yet so entertained before. Park enjoyed Shodan(iel)
Mr. Bones' Wild Ride is not a physical ride, it is the mental journey you go through to get past that damn table I love so much about these. particularly the barely audible "spooked ya" from the skellies in the hallways in between children screaming at each other in frustration
the map and waiting for actual players and capturing the perfect moments to mix into the compilations, and repeating actions to get the quality reactions of his "test subjects' could take months, and not to mention the amount of editing
Dude, this is fucking art. I know this is the opinion of an anonymous user on the internet but I'm telling you, I appreciate how far you've come. I'm sure people of today don't know what this means but what you made here will be in the history books of the future. Thank you.
Andrés Barone I definitely agree with you. Some people say being a salesman is an art. If that's the case then this most definitely is! The way everyone turned against each other at the beginning was amazing to see. The tribute to System Shock 2 at the end was phenomenal! It's all amplified and made believable through the eyes of the players, especially the kid. The kid didn't know what to think. The way Daniel keeps repeating slight variations of the same questions is very much like a Quake bot or CS Source bot might. Not to mention Daniels calm talking voice sounds like he could be both an eerily calm android from a Sci Fi movie, or a Sociopath.
This guy legit made people panic and made them feel scared. There were several moments that I laughed my ass off and a few moments where I felt like the guy is a sociopath. Unbelievable DanielFromSL. Great job!
The Hotel section is an interesting look into good game design. Purposefully predefining the player's path without them even knowing it. The use of Player Psychology is masterful in tricking the player into thinking they have a modicum of control the entire time. Fucking excellent work, Daniel.
Welcome traveller. This is a place where time has no meaning. Humanity is but a dot. A speck of stardust in the long stroke of life. I took the appearance of a human named Daniel, and Daniel has died a long time ago. I took his voice to convey his trust. I have succeeded in this objective. You are now here in the room of eternity. You are nothing. You are dust. And when the insignifact, miniscule timeframe you call your life has ended, nobody will remember who you were, what you were, how you were. Like a speck of rain all your efforts will be reduced to a single sentence. A single word. A single mention of a person that thought he knew you, but can't quite remember the details. It is in this moment I will come into play. I will keep you here for the remainder of time. All the best, my eternal friend. For now, this is where I get off.
Wow, the ride that Daniel just took me on... I was laughing so hard at the Mr. Bones haunted house part. But then the hotel sequence at the end was a real masterwork of suspense and psychological horror. The climax in the basement was just surreal. While I could only make out bits and pieces through the panicked comments of the victims, what that half-living character was saying was some truly chilling existential horror. I want to know who wrote that and even get a copy of it. The amount of work that must have gone into this is amazing. This video is truly a work of art. 10/10.
One day there needs to be an interview with Daniel on how much work he did on these gmod videos and explain what went into this crazy haunted gmod park.
"Bots have 0 ping" I know Daniels is just trolling and they're not bots but they have 0 ping if hosted on the same server. You could give them ping by having them connect from elsewhere.
yeah that guy was an idiot. Throwing big words around and wanting to see the code behind the "AI" even though he wouldn't have understood it lol and then threatening to DDoS hahhaha
@@sneakyman5626 he wanted lua files (which, correct me if I’m wrong, are for mods within gmod) but the “bots” were obviously connected as players meaning the AI would basically be playing the game as any other person if I’m not mistaken.
@@johnnyfettslem7439 i got no idea what lua files are. Dont play gmod. But yeah i got that part. I was just amused that he didnt realize you could host bots on other PCs and let them connect to the server. Or even just fake the ping
The most amazing part of all this is the sheer number of people you can find without a sense of humor. I would be giggling like a maniac in these situations. What is everyone's deal?
After watching this video, I started seeking others like it, but had no luck. I rewatched this several times to get a faint sense of how I felt the first time I watched it. Even when compared to the other great videos on your channel, this video stands out. Fantastic work Daniel! I hope to see similar videos in the near future!
Senor GOOCH it kinda is, telling people about a reward, yet right before they can reach it the reward harms them or simply didn’t exist or something is obstructing them from it
@@themandownstairs4643 Except everyone in the book had a different terrible tendency that they were punished for, like how the SAW movies were written. Their only female was a whore, most of them were starved forever until they all either got killed or killed themselves. I don't know why anyone is trying to relate the story to a video of a somewhat funny dude just trolling autistic gmod players. It's not that deep.
