That turned out beautifully. Looks like some form of old roofing hammer. You’re also a braver man than me running both bits of timber through a planer like that. Geez, I wouldn’t do that with my jointer, let alone a makeshift planer set up. But you’re comfortable with that and they’re yours fingers, so go ahead. Keep up the good work. After watching the vid i have changed my mind. Seeing it get butchered like that with the chiselled end getting ground off and a handle put on it has now totally altered its what it was meant to be used for.

Other than the obvious safety issue, the project came out looking quite good. It would make a good camping tool especially as it has the hole to tie it to your gear.

I knew a three-fingered butcher (total on both hands) who said the same thing. I quit buying meat there.

That is a pretty mattock!!

That cut mark might have been a unit of measurement who originally had it. It might have been 12-14 inches from the bottom of the tool.

I think peening the pins in the handle would’ve been more secure and I personally would have cut a v notch in the chisel end to make it more of a pry bar

One thing I saw that you should have done was peen those rivets instead of relying on glue

Was the writing upside down when you zoomed in on it? - I could be mistaken but it looked like one of the words was 'Belfast'.

It looks great but the only thing that bothers me is you turned a 3 function tool into a 2 function tool then you removed the crowbar from the bottom, I'm nit picking but personally I would have left it and maybe done a leather wrap for the handle

You should really peen those brass rivets over they serve more then the purpose of just looking cool. Also I would really center those rivers better but cool nonetheless

Hahaha first time I've watched one of your videos, you do great work, just be sure keep the work sausages clear of the choppy parts (I know, obvious thing is obvious, but gotta keep them buggers to keep restoring nice tools yeah?!)
