This was a great restaurant for our Valentine’s Day celebration. We had a great experience at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Our food was amazing and the atmosphere could not be beat. Everyone working there took great care of us. I know it’s expensive but every once in a while is not too bad. We would go back again. I think the historical building was very grand! I have heard so many mixed opinions about Ruth’s Chris that makes me wonder if I should give it a try but so far, I am not completely sure about spending that much money. I was told the best steak but sides were expensive. I also heard that it was okay but save your money and go to Texas Roadhouse! lol. I appreciate getting to see the food and your opinion as well. The building was beautiful. I always love seeing historical buildings preserved and being used for something. I understand debating about going to Ruth's Chris. It is definitely more expensive than your typical restaurant. We had actually wanted to go here for awhile because we had heard such good things about it. We had a gift card, which definitely made it more affordable for us. Your meal will cost between $75 and $100 a person. We chose the prixe fixe menu because it was a better deal. The sides were around $14 if you order everything a la carte. You just have to know the price when you go in and be okay with treating yourself to something so extravagant. We would definitely go back but now anytime soon. lol Now we frequent Texas Roadhouse a lot! We especially enjoy when we can go for their early dine specials during the week, but often it's the weekend when we actually can go. We put out a short with Carly on the saddle for her birthday. It was definitely a beautiful location with amazing food. We had been wanting to try this for awhile and just finally got to it. Definitely recommend going here for a special occasion. The steak was served hot and stayed hot the entire meal. So good! Hope you are doing well!

My ex-wife and I ate at the one in Tyson's Corner, VA in 2009 to celebrate our 30th anniversary together. I was suitably impressed with the food and the service. She wasn't. With either. While I am blessed enough to have been taken by my parents to fine dining restaurants, beginning as a child, my ex-wife wasn't so fortunate. Although I introduced her early on to such, she never seemed to appreciate the pride that some people put into the creation of a memorable occasion. And, that's what it's all about. It's not the price that makes the occasion. It's the pride in bringing enjoyment to others. Our last such meal was at The Derby in Arcadia, CA, in 2012. Most memorable? The Carnelian Room in San Francisco. Why most memorable? Only time we ever had a "date night" via cable car! And, on the way back to our hotel, while the cable car was stopped at the intersection by the Mark Hopkins, there was a guy with a moustache and beard, wearing a blue and white striped sundress, and waving a pink handkerchief while yelling "yoo-hoo!" at the crowd! That was in 1986! LOL! This was another great video. Quite a contrast with Valentines Day at Waffle House! (Imagine Ruth's Chris doing "Hash Browns, Scattered, Smothered, and Covered!) God Bless!

We enjoyed Ruth's Chris Steakhouse so much. I think you have to be able to appreciate wherever you are. You have to appreciate the attention to detail and the love that goes into your dining experience. The building is beautiful. Maybe not as memorable as a cable car with a guy outside wearing a sundress and waving a pink handkerchief yelling yoo-hoo! lol

Awww, we adore you guys!! So nice to go to a fine dining place. I went to one of these places a long time ago for a bachelor party down in Charlotte, NC. Nice to go to one of these places once a year or so. If you ever have a chance to find a place that has dry aged beef it’s a game changer! I’m trying to think of a place around here. I’ve been to a place or two in Texas and one in Northern Va. Dry aged beef. Game changer! Try to find a place and if you do, me and my wife might come along! Keep up the great work! Thank you! Definitely a delicious dining experience. We want to go back here for lunch and try the burger. I have never tried dry aged beef that I am aware. I just googled dry aged beef and see that Aberdeen Barn came up. However on the website I did not see where they mentioned that they actually serve the dry aged beef. David has mentioned going there before so we will look more into it. I'm thinking it may not be dry aged since it is not advertising it. Would love for you to join us to try the beef if is dry aged. Dry aged beef is kinda hard to describe but it’s basically beef that placed in a temperature controlled room for weeks at a time. It actually grows a little mold on the exterior that is trimmed off and the beef gets a really red color and that beef flavor is really intensified and it almost takes on a little funk like a good cheese! I didn’t do a good job of making it sound too appetizing. lol! But it is really quite amazing! I’ve only had it a few times in my life. My wife and I are going to Italy on a bucket list trip next week and Florence Italy is supposed to have the best aged beef! I will happily try to verify this! 😂😂. God bless!

That is one might find looking meal. I can't believe the steak was cooked perfectly, I never get my steak cooked exactly as I like it and that was. We have a Ruth's Chris in Cleveland I can't wait to try.

The steaks and sides looked delicious and cooked to perfection. That's so neat how they keep the steaks hot the entire meal. We enjoyed the history of the plantation home and how Ruth's Chris got its name. This place seems perfect for a good fine dining experience.

We hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day Celebration, Dave and Cindy. From the looks of this it sure looks like you did! We've seen Ruth's Chris Steakhouses in our travels, but have yet to stop at one. The steaks and seafood looked perfect. I too am a little afraid of the Filet Mignon, David. It's not that I don't care for it, it's that I'm always afraid of it being to small. We've heard that the steaks there are done to perfection and it sure looked it! Interesting to hear about how the name came about, Cindy. It is a little pricy as you mention, but you expect that. Loved the plantation look and feel! It's funny, but our next video coming Saturday is also at a famous steakhouse. Not quite as elegant, but a free 72 oz steak! Only catch is, you have to be able to eat it in an hour! 🤣🤣Thanks for bringing us along too Ruth's Chris.

First of all let me say you 2 look snazzy in your Date Day Dinner Clothes ! I even noticed Cindy wearing a ring and got her Glam on so Cindy you are looking lovely ! I love the style of mansion the Steak House is in . Wow I Didn’t realize that they didn’t post their prices . I knew they where expensive though because I always wanted to go . ( I maybe will 🤔 have to wait for me a gift card cause I almost tripped and fell over $175 .00 lol I was up walking and heard that and I literally turned quick and almost killed myself that part I’m not kidding about but the gift card part I’m kidding that I need to get one before going ! That was a nice present though ) I Green Brier is that expensive and several restaurants in The Smoky’s but you know it’s a special occasion and roses and candy would be almost that much I rather have a good steak and the memories made there . I know it’s good when my BFF Cindy don’t get chicken and gets steak and enjoyed it like she did . I’m all about hot food I hate cold food I get that from My mom she use to get so upset when we was younger and we didn’t get to the table while the food was good and hot . I say the same thing now to Greg lol . That ASMR of that steak sizzling has starved me to death . I actually ate chicken my entire anniversary week I knew I would be wanting a steak . So now I’m here eating my Sunnyland Farms chocolate covered pecans and imagining it’s a big juicy steak . Thanks for taking us along with you . Thanks for the compliment. I actually bought out some of my David Yurman for this occasion. Not sure if you could see the bracelet because of my sweater. I knew you would notice. Everything was outstanding and we enjoyed our experience so much. Everything was so hot. When we go back again (no time in the near future) I am going to get a baked potato. We were quite impressed with Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Sometimes the upscale restaurants have stuff we would not eat. Everything here was delicious and typical food for a steakhouse. Amazing food and service.

You were very close to where I grew up! I grew up on the "south side" of Richmond in Chesterfield County. My family lived in Midlothian for 5 years and then moved to the Bon Air area back in Richmond. I lived off of Genito Road which was off of Route 360. Gosh I haven’t been to a Ruth Chris in years. I think this is my sign. Up here in northern VA we have Flemings as well. I think there’s also a location in the Richmond area.

It is funny that this is your first time at a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse... because we just went to a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for the first time back in the fall for our anniversary. I thought my steak was delicious - however I think the steaks at several other steakhouses we have been to are just as good. And they are a lot less expensive elsewhere. Jack actually did order a chicken dish at Ruth's Chris (because of the prices of steaks). And we did both think his chicken was delicious. But the service was AMAZING! We have never received so much attention from the wait staff. They checked on us. They told us stories and engaged us in conversation. Any more attention would have been too much. But they got it just right. We will definitely go back sometime... but it will be rare. It is really cool that this particular location is in an old plantation house. Very cool setting. The Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse is about 4 miles from my house! The taste David may not recognize is probably the Sherry. It is frequently used in bisque style soups. I’m glad you were able to have a nice Valentine’s Day dinner together. Happy Valentine’s Day to you both. ❤

me again, (maybe one of your biggest fans, lol) .. so, at 10:15 - i would have thought the lemon would have the fancy little netting on it, where there’s a rubber band built in to hold it in place, so that when he squeezes it over the lobster, those seeds dont end up in the meat. just the little details that, for that kind of money, i would include if it was my place, but hey, it all looks amazing, still watching. 😊

at 7:24 those look like langoustine lobsters, which are very small lobsters, but still in the lobster family, and look much like crawfish bodies and are commonly used in lobster bisque. ok, back to the video. 😊

With them serving the steaks on a 500 degree plate, you would think the steak would keep cooking ...so it's over done in temp.

Hi guys and happy Valentine's Day 💝 Please wish Carly a Happy Birthday. I saw the birthday video! 🎉 I am wondering something way off of the restaurant topic lol...what are those awesome looking big bugs or bug that flew by the camera at the end of the video?? P.S. i haven't been able to try the Hush Puppies that you guys sent me yet, because i first had a sinus infection and now a stomach bug it seems. It's been hanging on for a while now 😢 I will let you know asap how they are when I'm better and able to enjoy food again!

I'm not sure what type of bug it was. We watched the video and couldn't tell. We really enjoyed dining at Ruth's Chris and thought everything was excellent. For the prices they charge the plates are very messy. Not what you would expect from a upscale restaurant.

Are you referring to the butter that is on the plate? That's how they prepare the steak and it is delicious to dip the steak in.

The dessert was included with our meal. They have a separate dessert menu. The cost of each dessert is $12. They are bigger because the one we had was a personal size. I would like to try their chocolate cake. The cheese cake was awesome!
