One reason to agree with this is that Lange watches are always overly chunky. I love my Lange 1 but don’t care about the Zeitwerk minute repeater due to the case height. Come on guys, they’re all hand wound, let’s make them all under 11mm!
ALS is like what Crocs are in footwear. I mean; I'm sure they're very healthy and comfy and such but ...meh...there's just nothing exiting about them and when you see someone wear them you think; oh look at you, aren't you happy with yourself...
Would you do a part 2 with affordable watch brands sub $2-3000 maybe? Include Seiko, Hamilton, Oris, Nomos, Rado, Tissot, Orient, etc? OOORRR a micro-brand tier list!?
@@BrittPearceWatchesWhy not be original and do a left field cool tier brand tier list , prices irrelevant. Vulcain Corum , Vostok,Zodiac etc , nobody talks about these brands 😢
You should do a part 2 for brands you could not include since it’d be too long! Here’s some that got left out - Seiko, FP Journe, Jacob & Co, RM, Casio, Oris, Tissot, Nomos, Breguet
There‘s many many more. Glashütte original, Rado, Union Glashütte, Hamilton, Mido, Certina, Citizen, Chopard, Ulysee Nardin, Maurice Lacroix and many many more
YOU GUYS ARE ALL RIGHT! I’m sooooo sorry!!! There was more on here! But i edited it down! 😭 I was trying to spare the internet of a 25 minute gringa video£ 🤣 ……. I can’t even listen to myself for that long to edit hahahah. BUT I WILL FIX THIS. The next official list will be a 30 minute gringa special!
Agree with the positive nod to the Longines Dolce Vita rectangular. I recently purchased the 43x27, silver dial with Arabics and blue hands, semi gloss black alligator strap. The only challenge is winding that beautiful non knurled crown, but solved that using a latex glove. Alas, it's a definite keeper ! Another charming and light hearted review Britt. Well done 👍. FYI, even though this movement isn't cosc certified mine runs at a plus 6 to minus 6 over 6 positions.
I got into an argument with my wife about Cartier being a jewelry brand. Ultimately, her argument was, if you are a woman into watches, Cartier is the best brand out there that 1) you can buy easily 2) is not covered in diamonds, 3) not pink and 4) isn't overly large. I see her point now. I feel like many watch brands have patronizing design strategies when it comes to women's watches. Having tried some in person, I like the Santos more and more, especially the all black model. I'm not sure I'd ever buy one unless my salary gets a couple more zeros added to it. Men are more spoiled for choice when it comes to wristwatches, and I'd probably prioritize other brands. Also, your AP criticism is 100% on point.
Your wife is absolutely right!!! I couldn’t agree more! Also, if you were to survey a bunch of women and ask “if you were to buy a luxury watch, what would you buy?!” And they’ll probably name 2 watch brands: 1. Rolex. 2. Cartier. (And an insulting amount of apple! 😜🤣🤣💕💕💕). But Cartier is really cornering the women’s watch world and making the “it girl” watches!!!
I agree with your wife. I am a woman watch fangirl. I can wear a 40mm (my Shunbun) but greatly prefer 36 and without freaking diamonds everywhere. Also the Cartier horological heritage is above reproach. For me, woman watch collector, the “just jewelry” comments crack me up. Watches are jewels. They are also engineering. And industrial design. And when they blend together - perfection!
I think none of us would complain if you do a ~20 minute long video covering more brands. You're a Nomos lover and you missed to include it Britt!! haha Also Casio and a couple of other watch brands (Richard Mille, F.P Journe, etc.) missing as well. But still, great OFFICIAL ranking! Love it! Would love to see an independent watch brands ranking! Cheers from Costa Rica!
Yes please. Their technology and capabilities surpass Rolex. Rolex has its cachet and timeless designs so they deserve their spot, but IMO Omega definitely belongs in the Divine category as well.
Great list Fun video Agree with all your rankings, would have put Tag Heuer a little higher on the strength of their recent Carerra Chronograph, along with the timeless appeal of the Monaco.
You are awesome and I agree with 80% of your choices. I feel like you forgot Casio- The Gshock is amazing!!!!! Quality watch for folks on a budget. Also, Tissot makes an amazing watch at a great price- PRX powermatic 80 with ice blue dial is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Super vid, I gotta say I used to not watch Watch Gringa, but lately not only have I been watching your vids, but bought a prime example of an Omega 2254… which kicked off another 6 purchases of that same watch in my group chats. I look forward to every vid more than ‘the Irish/Dutch dude’
Woooah! I am so glad you're liking the channel!! :) I've definitely been on a bit of a journey with my content haha ;) I'm always just trying to make each video a little better than the last!
Oh man, I cannot stand that top tier. Glorified jewelry brands resting on their laurels aren't my thing, except for VC which deserves top spot. I'd have replaced both Cartier and Rolex for not having done anything truly new in the past 40 years, maybe with Omega and JLC respectively. Cartier belongs in RVG tier to me since the last time they've been proper watchmakers I wasn't even born, and now they mostly sell cheap slabs of steel with quartz movements on even cheaper pleather watch straps, c*ckriding the greenwashing trend since it's so fashionable to act eco friendly while cheaping out on quality materials. Yikes.
Rolex in divine? Absolute nonsense! So overrated and extremely overpriced for the quality you get. The only reason people lazily go for Rolex is to show off to people who know nothing about watches but that have heard the name and think they are the only watch brand.
After watching the video again and again and again I agree with the rank of the brands mentioned 🙌🏻. There is just one very important Japanese brand missing but we know what happened to them in the editing process 😅
BAHAHA, FERNAAAANDO! FORGIVE MEEE! I feel like I'm definitely going to get in trouble for editing out Seiko ;) hehe. It came from a place of empathy and not making people sit through a 25 minute gringa video! ;)
Agree or not (and I do for the most part, with few exceptions), this is a ranking created by a watch enthusiast and not a watch dealer, like most out there.
You know I had to click the video because of the Green SMP300 there. Definitely agree with the list except for how Cartier is above OMEGA, ALANGE and JLC???! Craaaazy.
Cartier being a jewellery brand doesn't contradict the fact that they make great watches. Nothing wrong with that and there has to be that one brand that takes a different approach to watches than all the others. ALS clearly belongs into the divine category. They are undoubtedly on par with Patek in my opinion. JLC belongs there as well. They are always so underrated but they offer such a great watchmaking for reasonable prices. Omega and Rolex swap their ranks in my view. Omega since a long time is at least on par with Rolex in terms of quality and they innovate much more. Breitling in recent years has evolved a lot so they need to be in the very good category. Blancpain as well. Yes, they seem to be kind of a one trick pony but the Fifty Fathoms is just so gorgeous.
Rolex is divine branding. Not divine watchmaking. When rolex makes a perpetual calendar or something like that we can talk. Until then I don’t put them with Lange Patek VC and AP.
BAHAHA! I’m going to be back home for 3 weeks this summer and I’m going to go back to sounding full on Canadian! I can feel it already!!! I CANT WAIT!!!!!
Hello my friend Britt - (and James!!!) - it's your good American buddy Elton..... I have been really busy at work and working thru a minor health deal so I have not been riding on the "Britt band-wagon" as per my usual! That does not mean I have not been watching your content and I am so pleased you are getting back to 100% - maybe even better than ever!!!!! Thanks for your "Ultimate Rankings" - the ONLY one that really matters. Always a pleasure to watch and hear your entertaining comments. Anyhoo..... Good seeing you in action my friend - take good care of you. PS for James/Watch Papi - despite being busy and getting a heath deal worked thru - I did buy another watch I have wanted for some time. A very "garish/flashy" Breitling two-tone Chronomat..... Yup - over the top but I just don't care!!!!!
@@BrittPearceWatches Hello Britt and thank you so much!!! I know the "Mowerman USA" is a bit silly but I work at a Company that does make high end lawn care stuff - among other Made in the USA products so hence the silly "screen name"..... You really are looking like you are feeling much better Britt and I am so very happy. You are a gem and it "was stinking to high heaven" seeing you in pain. Can you believe I bought a "blingy" - two tone Chronomat - couldn't help it..... When I wear it - I feel like I should be in the movie Casino or on the Sopranos!!!!! Makes me smile and I needed a "boost". So happy again you are doing better every week and always good to hear from James. You guys seem like "two peas in a pod". (another movie reference!!!!) Love you guys long time..... Elton
I've stayed clear of other ranking lists of inferior quality and saved myself for yours Britt. But I'm afraid you'll find the Vacheron you showed is nearly double the price you mentioned. Thanks for another great vid.
Rolex have more history than 3/4 of what she mentioned, they make absolutely phenomenal watches regardless of what you think about them and are the kings of marketing
Britt, there was no need to rush the list at the end. You had me under your spell at Vacheron Constantin American 1921! Looking forward to Part II or an updated assessment. I hope you will include a "redemption from hell or Meh" category, if any brand is worthy of forgiveness.
In general a very good ranking. I personally would move up TAG Heuer simply because of the Monaco. Which I regard 'quite good' hence to this position. Very entertaining video 👍.
Love the chart and I think it is accurate. But where is Tissot? I have only one Tissot watch in my collection but its accuracy is amazing, well within rolex spec.
oh loved that AP in MEH, ur absolutely right they are not delivering that holy trinity standard. I would only disagree on BLANCPAIN and PIAGET being in MEH id put them in quite good. Great video
I appreciate your having included Longines in your list. They are offering many stunners. Big eye, sector dial, 39mm Zulu time, compressor diver. Hmmm, to your point, maybe too many?
I agree with your point about Rolex and ladies watches (why can't anyone else make automatics in 28mm???), but I otherwise just don't get the hype. Their steel is great, sure they have history, but why is everyone going bananas for them?
Love your ranking! Not that I agree with all, but surprisingly many of themI find myself nodding and thinking "yes, hm, I actually agree with this one".
Can someone help me send a Canadian to Siberia?! 🤣 Lange only Really Very Good?! Under Rolex! What?!!! The Triple split, the Datograph all get no love?! Blasphemy! 😅
As a Fanboy of Omega (although I own only one, the Titanium Ceramic Seamaster), I completely agree with your ranking except for Longines. I don't own one, but think they are making great strides in quality/style v. price. and are deserving of a "Really, Very Good" rank. And what about Oris? Any thoughts on them? Full transparency, I own Tag Heuer, Ebel, and Tudor as well as the aforementioned Omega. Just got a Pelagos 42mm :)
@@SaintWill70 "experianced" in watch collecting is a very subjective comment. What dictates this "Experience"? Passion? Years? Brands Owned? As someone who has been collecting watches for 40 years, I agree with the comment that Longines should be given a bit higher of a bump. To add, your comment seems dismissive and a tad condescending. Do you know the experience level of Chris-ih6ci, or are you just pulling this assumption of their knowledge out of thin air?
Great list and pretty much agree with all rankings. One brand I root for is Longines. They have such a rich history of design but they are a bit off with their case sizes and long lug lengths.
*furiously searches comment section for fellow Omega Fanboys, to rally and rile them up to overthrow this video, since we've been thrown shade and religated to something OTHER than Divine*.... In the meantime, love you Gringaaaaa 😎
A Lange is divine tier. Laurent is not. Just swap those places and it's good to go. ... And of course Omega needs it's own tier above divine. Call it "ultra divine".
100% agree with the rankings! Love that the Longines Dolce Vita is getting some attention, that is a great and massively underrated dress watch. It would have been an instant buy but for the fact that I'm saving up for that Cartier Santos I mentioned in a previous video...lol
RIGHT?! The Dolcevita is soooo underrated and it is such a shame! I think people believe that dress watches always need to be ridiculously priced. But they DON'T!
Longines is number 8 globally markets share is 5.6% vs tudor 2%... longines sold 1.7m pieces in 2022. It's just in north America that they're obscure and Tudor over hyped by same RU-vid rolex rah rah boys.
@@BrittPearceWatchesdo your research longines is mucu much bigger than Tudor... You're just being influenced by biased RU-vid rolex rah rah boys who hype Tudor. Hope they're aren't in rolex pr machinery.
I think AP has moved away from VC/PP's quiet refinement and more towards Richard Mille's 'look at me' watches. Royal Oak will always be iconic but they need to develop a wider spectrum more than just the Code11:59 (I have a 11:59 btw and love it). We need AP versions of Calatrava and Aquanaut!
Very interesting video Brit,I would agree with some and disagree with others but if we all liked and disliked the same watches it would be pretty boring, just buy what you love.
@@stephengarratt8027I've lived thro Alis career and Tysons, I think Tyson might win on a knckout but if it went the distance Ali would out point him.....
@@jamesblonde2271 Most of Tysons victims were caught cold early, but, Ali had to much about him especially in his prime. My memories are from his fights in the late 70s so I missed that.
Cannot express the depths of my disappointment with the exclusion of Nomos on the list. Deep, deep sadness. Oh wait, I get it. Nomos is too good for this paltry list. Ok, ok, I got ya. All is forgiven. 😎👍🏼
Love your light humor when doing these videos! I would rate you in the "Devine" category for RU-vidrs. I actually thought you were pretty spot on with your ranking of these watch makers, however, I was a bit surprised not to see Richard Mille on the list. For me, I'd probably rank it as Quit Good given the unique design and quality they offer.
@@Mega-zi7ys I can see how it can be confusing and easy to group Carier in with, say, Gucci watches, but you'd be surprised what you find if you google their history.
Britt! Without getting ridiculously petty, I cannot argue with most of your rakings. Maybe Grand Seiko down a level....Off to work I go...Long Live the Cult(s)!
DON H! I mean… I kinda love it when things get ridiculously petty! 😝 bahaha. You are CRUEL to GS! (Grand Seiko fan boys, let the record show I am defending GS!) 🤣 ew. Work! Hope you had a great day! 💕💕💕💕
I think TAG deserves a bit more credit. They are on the up and up in my opinion. The new glass box Carreras are absolutely amazing on wrist, and I really liked the new skeleton Monacos on wrist. The Dark Lord Monaco is so cool on wrist as well, even if the rose gold bits ultimately aren't for me. I do respect the Kenissi movement powered Aqua Racer Professional 1000 in titanium. It is large, but very cool and I like the overall aesthetic. The solar Aqua Racer and Nigh Divers are very interesting as well. The new colorful 36mm Carrera is very nice as well, and they at least upgraded to SW300 based 56hr power reserve movements in those. I'm just not down with their prices. They think they're Omega level or something, but they're not. The used prices (excepting some limited pieces) reflect that. I met the head of IWC design last week (super tall, like me), and heard the process of designing the new Ingeniuer. They really put a lot of thought into it and they're absolutely brilliant on wrist. Definitely go try one on if you can. I particularly loved the Aqua dial variant, but black and the white are great too. The Mark XX is great (silver dial is cool), and while the white ceramic big pilot perpetual is not for me, it's very cool. All that being said, I'm still not sure the Ingenieur is worth the price they're asking. I personally would shave a couple grand off. As is, they're not far off from a GP Laureato. While I've not tried that watch on, I have seen them and the overall style seems a bit more worth it. No, 54 hours is not even close to a 5 day power reserve, but it's not terrible. All that said, I believe you placed them in the right spot. I also think Breitling is on the up and up. I really like that new Super Ocean. In photos I was meh, but on wrist I was shockingly impressed. I'm not a fan of their pricing increases, but it seems to be the way of the industry. Longines does need to thin their catalog out, but the new Zulu Time 39mm is brilliant (can't wait to get it on wrist...only tried the 42) and the new Conquest even looks quite nice. Definitely a step up from the (admittedly cheaper) older version. Their heritage reissues are great too. They just have too much other fluff in the catalog. What is up with JLC's prices? The no date Polaris blue dial I tried on bracelet last year was quite nice, but had a 40-hour power reserve for US$8,400. What does JLC do? Raise the price by 25%! What?! I know they're the "watch maker's watch maker," but would I pick that somewhat generic look over a GMT Master II? I didn't even pick it over my Explorer II. Give me a break JLC. Okay, I've gone on a bit of a rant and need to stop. I loved the video. Thanks, Britt!
TH has been crushing it the past few years. And, the 60th Anniversary Carerra (panda), although a limited edition, is absolutely stunning with a superb in-house movement.
BAHAHA OOOOOH NOOOOO! How did I not notice the lack of Nomos?!?!?!?1 Goof grief. REALLY, VERY GOOD! They're not quite divine for me; but they are showing the in-house doesn't have to be ridiculously priced! I will forever have a soft spot for Nomos.
Britt, might want to include Franck Muller their releases in the recent years has been spectacular. Dont forget the Germans as well. Glasahutte Original and A lange and Sohne
