Literally just watched this video. We have a 278BH and camping through the artic blast that is rolling through. Didn’t factor sites water freezing so have to fill the fresh, by jug. Looked and didn’t see the fresh fill spout…after a brief panic…watched this video 🤙. Off to filling up jug now 😅😊
Hey Angelo, just got a chance to watch the video. One correction, you mention grand design did a good job marking the nautilus panel however that's not a grand design product. I have one in my flagstaff and they are in lots of brands. I hate to sound picky but I would not recommend shoving that hose down into the water jug. That hose has been laying in your compartment, coming into contact with dirt and who knows what else. Then you stick it down into the water you're pumping into your tank. See the issue? You could be contaminating your water supply. I think that's why they call that mode sanitize. If you were sticking the hose into a bleach/water mix then the outside of the hose would get disinfected. Hope this makes sense. I use a jug that's made for boat winterization to also winterize my RV. It has a valve, fittings, and short hose which works well.
Casey. Thank you for your comment. Yes. You are correct Grand Design does not make the Nautilus center. But it’s on the Grand Design. I guess that’s what I meant. Also. The water hose that I used comes out from the Nautilus system. The water that I put in the Fresh water is simply to use the toilet and wash your hands and if you have no water on at your campground It’s better then nothing. I would not recommend anyone drinking water from their fresh water tank. Who knows what’s in there. So filling up with this hose I do not see an issue. I use a different hose to sanitize and winterize. We always bring either bottled or large 5 gallons containers of water for us to use for consumption. (I wish I had a softener and filters) Hmmmmmm. Video idea….., lol. The water that I used came from a filter already. But I can see someone putting a filter on as well like you recommended in my other videos. Thank you Casey as always I appreciate your comments and ideas. It helps all of us.
Thank you so much. I knew there was a way to do this but I just couldn't remember. We are winter camping and the water at the campground is shut off. So I'm shuttling water from the bathroom. Yay fun. :-)
Great video. We are living in our grand design solitude on our property. We have a well with a 5400 gallon holding tank. How do we connect to that so that we get maximum water pressure for shower sinks etc. Thanks, John
Thank you for watching. I would take the pressure from your well making sure it does not exceed the pressure of the RV pipes. In my opinion and this is only my opinion. I pushed 75 psi one trip forgetting to put my pressure regulator on. So If the pressure for your well does not exceed the recommend for the pipes I would skip placing a regulator on. And only using one faucet at a time. I hope this was helpful. Thank you so much for watching.
I have a question? Why did you say to make sure all outlets are off! I have a reflection and am new to all of this! Not sure why all outlets need to be off?
I have a 50 gallon water with a 12 volt rv pump and i put the power cord in my rv truck plug . Question can i use this system to fill my rv with out using the water pump on the trailer if i go to the city hook up? Please leave me a message on this subject. Thank you for your time. Denis from Santa Rosa CA. We have an older rv without your system. Thanks again Denis
Question for you, not sure if you will have an answer. We purchase a Palamino Solaire at the beginning of April and it has the Nautilus P4 system. We have been on 4 camping trips and had full hookup sites. On those trips we had no issues with getting water through city water hookup. However, on this last camping trip we were going to dry camp because full hookup was not available. We set our nautilus system valves according to the diagram for Power fill tank, hooked up the hose, turned on the city water hose and nothing happens. We tried to get the tank to fill for over an hour and nothing. We know that no water was getting in the tank because our sensors indicated it was empty and we opened the low point drain and nothing came out. My husband has called the dealership we purchased our RV from and spoke with the service manager and he seems to have no clue, we reached out to Palomino multiple times and cannot seem to get through to anyone. Do you have any trouble shooting times.
Hello and thank you for this question. So i would place a water meter on the hose to see if any water (If any) is going through. My number one thing that I can think of is the check valve is bad, A check valve allows water to pass through but does not allow water from coming back. 2nd. If that still doesn’t work you can use the Siphon feature to fill to see if that works. if it does work then the knobs on the power fill May be backwards or the check valve may be bad. Hopefully it is under warranty but if not I would remove the back wall were the panel is and see if that it has a check valve. I would try to match your power fill with my layout in the video making sure they did not turn the handles by accident. This happened on one my friends rig. Also I would open a faucet to allow air to go through. I hope this is it because that’s all I can think of. Please keep me posted it that was it or if it was something else. Stay Camping. Angelo.
Hey. Thanks for your question. So yes. We do have a pump in the rv that works when we use our fresh water tank while boon docking. But we can also use it to symphony as well. Anymore questions please feel free to ask. Thanks again. .
He didn't answer you correctly. In short No. There is only one pump for the entire system. That pump moves water from and to where you need it depending on how you have the valve panel set. From container to fresh tank or fresh tank to fixtures.
How many times can you refer to the Water Bottle as a Bucket 🤔 Sorry it's just sometimes hilarious to hear people from different places refer to things with different names 😅 🤣 Kinda like the lever/handle on the 45° ball valve as a Switch 😳 😆 🤣
