As someone who is considering an RV, this is my new go-to channel for making an informed decision. The interview with various experts and RVers provide excellent insights for this monumentous ($) decision. Thank you for your efforts!
Brandon….thanks for this video. My wife and I have never owned an RV or camper, so we are really newbies. We expect delivery of our Wonder RL in the spring. Your video helped both of us become more comfortable with the future operation of our unit. The information on the operational capabilities of the lithium batteries versus AGM was especially enlightening for us. Hopefully, with the information you provided, we won’t be too obvious as newbies as we begin our new adventure. Keep these videos coming.
Are 2 A/C units an option? Of my 4 medium sized dogs, 3 are double coated and they start panting at about 63-65 degrees, < 60 degrees optimal for them.
Great info! I just de-winterized my 2022 Unity, the water pump will run but not pump - how do you prime it ? The filter is facing down so water cannot be added in it to prime ...Any suggestions?
Hi! So, if stay 3 days without plugging in to electric and water, I only have chance to take a shower once, because I got 24 Gallons of water? Is it true?
Great discussion! When I started out with my camper van I quickly realized that there were many caveats when it comes to solar power, batteries and inverters that I was not privy to when I designed my power system. One of the first lessons I learned is that an 3000w inverter is not a true 3000w. Same applies for a 2000w. There are many videos out there about why there is a reduction in the actual output, something to do with Ohm’s law and my inverter only being about 85% efficient, blah blah blah….😂😂 I honest don’t fully understand it. What I will say is that I was so disappointed to find this out because I had added up all of the watts my appliances would draw and thought I’d be fine…only to find out my 3000w inverter really can only handle up to about 2400w at a time. Big difference😳 So, when you say people probably won’t need the bigger inverter unless they want to run their AC…I think it depends on what they are planning to use, appliance wise. For instance, if they are using things like coffee makers, air fryers, blow dryers, ice makers, portable induction cooktops, etc. they might want to consider the larger inverter. Also, when you are on 30amp plug power in the RV park, I’d be hesitant to say it’s just like being at home, because the 30amp has limitations as well. I often wish i had a 50a coach just so i could power all of my goodies at once👍
I would suggest that people realign their city water to put the pressure reducer and filter to the coach side. I've left too many pressure reducers on external water supply faucets.
The LTV look interesting.... but I don’t know if I could drive one over the mountains. I am a chicken ( barely able to keep up with speed limit) going downhill traveling on highways in W. Oregon if past trips.
This was really great the way you explained everything. What would you suggest, when boondocking, on how to be able to use more water like to shower more since the tanks are so small?
Glad it helped. I've heard of people storing water in portable water bags. There really is no way to create larger water tanks, so portable water is your best bet.
Brandon - I was watching the Earthromer video and noted the great glassware and dish setup available as on option. Really cool concept but I haven't seen this type option on other Class B+ RV's. Maybe a possible aftermarket upgrade to LTV's?
We have the LTV branded bamboo dining set and it's great. Highly recommend. shop.leisurevans.com/collections/dining/products/young-lux-ltv-bamboo-tableware
Could you do a video about RV weight for LTV? I was reading online, that the base weight plus 2 people and holding tanks and all that left like 500 pounds to put into the RV...is that accurate?
thanks! I have a video that touches on it, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hb9R7IEim4g.html - I also have a blog post coming up on the Leisure Travel Van website that will discuss as well. leisurevans.com/blog/author/brandonhensley/ I'll look at doing a full video on the subject, so thanks for the suggestion.
Brandon, nice video. You seem to have a relationship with LTV beyond just owning one of their units. Would it be possible to get one of their designers on to talk about their design concepts behind the different models? I'd specifically be interested on the design differences between the Wonder and Unity RL. Thanks.
Love the video it speaks on the leisure travel van on a whole. But can you do a video on all the upgrades you did and why I've heard Michelin tires run better and then there was something about suspension for like when you going in and out of driveways or gas stations that you can upgrade what's your opinion on those also. And can you plug an external propane tank up for longer boondocking
Thanks for the suggestion. I really only upgraded my battery and inverter. Did not do anything to the suspension, which would be a good topic if I were to ever do that. I don't believe you can hook up an external propane.
Thank you, very interesting. It would be great if you showed the devices on your actual RV. You videos are helpful as we wait for our Wonder to get built.
Brandon, thank you so much!!!! You answered so many of my questions. I don't feel nearly as confused as before, although I'm sure when I purchase one, I'll look at it in dumbfounded intimidation all over again! But you certainly explained the interaction of the systems, which was what was making me dizzy. Thanks, again so much!!! (And you were close; it's PREES-man. Lol)
@@Pagosa Fingers crossed, that WILL happen someday. With any luck, something in 2022. And when it does, I'm certain there are some things from Pagosa that I have my eye on! For starters, the upgraded lithiums!!!!
I learned today when the fresh tank is empty the water pump will run and run. Turned it off and filled the tank again and the pressure switch engaged. Also if the tank valve is set to fill the pump will run too if switched on.
