Good video guys. 3 things... 1. Thank you for cleaning up after your puppers. That is one of the biggest pet peeves my Wife and I have and just went over on our first Episode. So, thank you. 2. We have a 41 ft travel trailer pulled by a gas powered 2500HD. We always seem to get stuck on that outside pump, that works best for us, but has someone parked who is just taking their time shopping inside. Really infuriating. 3. Definitely take it easy out there on the Texas plains. My Brother is a long haul trucker and about 2 years back a 65 mph straight-line gust caught his rig on the side and lifted a full 53ft trailer off the ground about 3 ft, flippedhim on his side and slid him Cross the opposite lanes of a divided highway and slid him off in the bar ditches. DPS was right behind him and got it on dashboard cam. It was both horrific and awe inspiring at the same time. Thanks for thevids, be safe out on the road. Love, Peace and Bacon Grease Y'all!!! Mmmmm, bacon!!! ~Uncle Mongrel

In January I headed I10 west and ran into a blizzard in Las Cruces. Just out of nowhere. It was warm and the temps dropped! Woah...I am heading back I40 from Flagstaff later this week. I have been waiting for temps to warm. Thanks for the visual of a brownout. Scared the "honk" out of me, just watching.

Hey guyz Luv your channel, Brian liked your take on the safety tips on the traveling thru a dust storm. I'm a retired Border Patrol agent & taught driving at the academy & taught those same techniques to the trainees to always pull off the road as far as possible. Many snowbirds get killed around Arizona by doing the opposite of what you did. Born & raised in the El Paso area and enjoyed the area around the Dairy farms right before entering El Paso. We live now in Albq & when we visit mom in El Paso my SD wife hates that area 😆. Keep up the great videos & hope when we get our RV we run into you & Shanna.

Thanks Dan. We did contact them but they do not make a system for the 20,500lb F53 chassis. Additionally, the price is over $10,000 just for retrofitting the rear. Our understanding is that they are developing a LS system for Ford F53 front ends too.

Goathead thorns have taken out a few of our bicycle tires, when we had an assignment in Carlsbad!. We are still in Florida loving the weather, before it gets to hot and humid. We try and drive 330 miles by 330 pm then find a stop. Our TPMS makes the same sound until the tires heat up. It is a lifesavers! What internet service and router is it that you have? I must have missed that video. Good to know about good sam’s MasterCard! Party 🎉 I love it! 🎉🎉stay safe!

Thanks for doing this video in the conditions You Guy's had to drive thru. We just purchased 2001 Fleetwood Southwind on a F53 Chassis and have a lot of driving issues as well which relates to driver fatigue. Looking at all those upgrades for Your suspension You had shown on an earlier video now I can somewhat foresee what We will notice in regards to handling improvements on Our rig. Our coach had 97K miles on it when We bought it and I have no idea how the previous Owner drove for that long on stock Ford suspensions. We are starting with the rear track bar first on Our rear axle due to the length of Our coach hanging beyond the rear axle. Once again Thanks for sharing information!

The search for a big gas station is a common thread. We learned by going through Texas to seek out the Buc-ees gas stations. 120 pumps! It's a real experience. I assume you used those when possible. We were just on your same route through El Paso, Fort Stockton, San Antonio, Houston, Galveston, a month ago, right after the big freeze.
@LyfUninterrupted
@LyfUninterrupted 3 года назад
For us, it’s not always about the cheapest gas. The ease of getting into and out of stations is more important.
@TomSpurlock
@TomSpurlock 3 года назад
@@LyfUninterrupted that was my point. With 200+ pumps, there's always a pump with easy access. But you're right, their gas is usually cheap too. However, walking into the store is an experience if you haven't been there before. Good BBQ food, and lots of trinkets.
@LyfUninterrupted
@LyfUninterrupted 3 года назад
The first one we walked into was like Qalo king into Disneyland for the forest time. So many sights and sounds. Have you been to the worlds largest truck stop in Iowa? Now that was an experience!
@TomSpurlock
@TomSpurlock 3 года назад
@@LyfUninterrupted No, I haven't been there yet, but it's marked in my Google Maps favorites to stop at in the future. However I have seen a video on that I-80 largest truck stop, it's crazy big, 900 truck parking spaces! They have 150 pumps, but you have to truckers to contend with. I'll definitely stop when I go through Iowa someday. Buc-ees is sweet with 120 pumps, but fewer truckers. They've expanded into other states besides Texas, like Alabama, Georgia, and now Florida. If I'm below half I always stop, due to the easy of access, gas price, and BBQ sandwiches, yum.

As a kid growing up, AC wasn't in most cars. I'll never forget heading NW towards Amarillo and forgetting to roll up windows as we entered the city. Could NOT wait to get to the other side for some fresh(er) air!! Then later after marriage ... we'd be reminded about 30 minutes outside of Amarillo that it was time to seal the car windows! LOL Last time we were through there ... we noticed you now have to be prepared about an hour before and after entering that area ... for obvious reasons. I have NO CLUE how people in the community live with the smell 24/7/365!! Money or no ...I'd have to find a new/different occupation as opposed to living near there! LMAO That brown out looked ominous and I was sitting here hoping you could at least make it to Pecos for a decent place to pull over for a bit. I'll try to remember to tell you sometime about the day I went against hubby's desires, and outran a tornado At about 115+ mph, just south of OKC headed south! Thought he was gonna sh*t a brick before that was behind us! LOL I look forward to your trek down through TX to the gulf!! Hugs to the girls!! ♥

This was my first time watching you two and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially because I make a trip from San Diego to San Antonio and back every 60 - 90 days or so and Benson, Deming, Anthony, Ft Stockton, etc are all places I know very well. Have you stopped at Texas Canyon outside of Benson? It's beautiful at sunrise. I missed you by a month, I traveled at the end of the Big Texas Freeze but couldn't get past El Paso and had to turn around and go back to SD. I hope you both stayed warm. My hubby and I might jump into the rv life feet first one day after he retires; we've begun the "Whaddya think?" convos lol. Happy highways you two! I'm a new fan 😃

Cool video! Question: what recommendation would you make for cars passing a large RV like yours? I would guess you would like to be passed like 4-wheelers should and not cross in front of you until 4-wheelers can see your front window (like they’re supposed to for truck drivers)?
@LyfUninterrupted

Yes, just pass, then merge back to the right lane after at least 3-5 car lengths. We’ve had some close calls that’s for sure.

The town of Anthony is in Tx and NM. I lived there for 5 years at the La Tuna federal prison. My hubs was a correctional officer. This was in the 1970s. The Old El Paso Mexican Food plant was across the street. They always hired illegals from Mexico and was regularly hit by the immigration department. They would drive up and pull all the illegals out and transport them back to the Rio Grande so they could wade back to there side.

Why do truckers have their lights on and their flashers on in bad road conditions going slow? If they get hit rear-ended it reduces their insurance liability. Vehicles dont follow cars because they are running with lights on in low visibility. A VEHICLE IS MORE VISIBLE IN POOR VISUAL CONDITIONS so other drivers can judge the distance better ahead of them. BRAKE LIGHTS indicate to a driver behind theres a danger ahead, im slowing down, im stopping, caution ahead, possible accident or blocked road ahead.
@LyfUninterrupted
@LyfUninterrupted 3 года назад
