Thanks for watching and subscribing. We use Trip Wizard all the time and are currently on a 14,000 mile trip. Check out our trip planning play list which has a lot more videos in it and also how we planned this 14,000 mile trip.

The price was $59 for a few years and they just raised it at the end of last year to cover expenses. The cool thing is once you sign up you can lock the price in for life. And you can get 25% off your first year with our discount. We love the software and plan everything with it. Thanks for watching.
Nice software package Dave. I like the elevation view where it shows the steep hills on the route. Bought a 96 Gulf Stream Friendship 102 diesel pusher coach las weekend with 70,000 miles on it. Hope they open borders so we can travel south this winter. Nice to be visiting family!!
I downloaded the RV Life Trip Wizard after watching several raving reviews of the product but after trying to use the product I became so frustrated I was compelled to post a negative comment. The design is great but the execution of the features is absolutely terrible. The driving radius is a great ideal but to get it to work right is hit or miss (mostly miss). The trip routing does not take the best route. It will make u-turns and backtrack for no reason. It will exit from the main road only to return later for no reason
Thanks for the comment Tommy. There is a bit of a learning curve so that is why I created 3 videos on it. But with that in mind I have never found anything that does what this does. I have ran into bugs but I really like the option now to look ahead. One thing I found is that if you create a few stops and then decide to bypass those and select on the routing software to match the route exactly it still routes you to each stop as it goes. Not sure if that is a bug or intended but am looking. into it. Every time I find something weird I report it and that is where customer service shines as they get right back to me. I had some real issues routing through places like Houston TX because of the toll roads and me wanting to bypass them. I also have found that in NV when I am trying to go through Lake Mead but have my no toll roads option on. I can drag and drop the route I want and then it informs me that this route has a toll so I am at least aware of it. I feel the more feedback we give to customer service the better it makes the product. Thanks for watching.
I like change and hate it at the same time. I like new features but sometime I wonder who designs the changes in any software. I do like how responsive these guys are though and helpful to explain it to me. Thanks for watching.
Watching for the first time. Just joined RV Life in June. I cannot find the Memberships and Preferences tab. Any suggestions as to where I can find it?
Thanks for watching Anna. Looks like they changed the name. It is now called "Display Pin Preferences" and can be found under the trip settings wrench at the top left. Hope that helps.
@@TignerAdventures Thank you for responding. I will do my best to find it. We're very excited to finally have someone, like you, to explain what every feature does!
Glad to hear they help. It can get over whelming with all the options. Just take it slow and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching.
Well done presentation! Far more useful than the demo presentation by the manufacturer. 😊 I will be getting this app. You mentioned a different software that you use for seeing gradients. You said you would discuss it in a future video. Which video covers that topic please? What is the name of that other software please?
I found the answer in your reply to another comment - Mountain Directory. Now just sorting thru to find the vid where you discuss its use. Again, thank you for your clear, useful demonstration. I made video tutorials for software products years ago. I understand how much work goes into making a 10-minute lesson! Finding the balance between pertinent vs TMI can be challenging at times.
Thanks for watching Glenda And Randy. There are 3 parts to this video series. Trip wizard has done some nice changes to the map as far as gradients on elevation is concerned. But if you want a highway by highway break down then try Mountain Directory. You can see a link to all the things we use on our website recommendation under tigneradventures.com. Hope that helps.
Thank you for your very helpful videos. I am setting up a trip and have enabled under map settings weather settings ( radar ) but it goes away and disables itself every time I go to it. Can this be enabled continuously or does it have to be enabled every time ? Thank you.
Hi Patrick. Thanks for watching. To be honest with you I didn't know about that option. It is pretty cool and I'll have to include it in a future video for sure. As far as your problem I'm not sure as I enable it and it works for me. I thought maybe you have it zoomed out to far or in to far but it doesn't seem to be an issue either. I would send an email to support and have them check it out. They are really good at helping and can see your map where I can't. Let me know what you find out if you can in case someone else has that issue in the future.
Hi Dave I am enjoying your very through videos. Thanks so much for the details. Question, I have RV Trip Wizard and for some reason don't have the street view icon. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thanks Marsha. So right at the top of the screen next to the tent icon to display the camping areas there is an option that says "Map Settings". If you click on. that the first item on the list is "Map Style". Click on that and you can turn street view on/off and also choose other options. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
If that doesn't do it, it may be linked to the fact that I run Google Chrome and so it links that option in there. Because when I click on that it brings up google maps. The reason I mention that is because no matter what I choose I have that option. Worst case I would send support an email because they have been really great to get back to me quickly with answers. Either way let me know what fixes the problem and then I will know the for sure correct answer. 😀
Wonderful video! Wish I would have watched this before I struggled through creating a 6,000 mile trip! It's not too intuitive. I looked for the ability to add Memberships and Preferences (like I saw in your video) but I do not have that TAB on my RV Trip Wizard Pro account under default settings. Can't find it anywhere! I sent an email to the company and am hoping for a quick reply.
Thanks for watching Barb. Yep there is a bit of a learning curve. Looks like they changed the name to Display Pin Preferences. See if you have that one. It is right under the Trip Settings.
I have a question after you plan a trip and get it all in the system. Can you print that off so that you can give it to someone else or can you email this copy of it?
Thanks for watching William. There are a few of options. Go into your Trip Tools which is the little wrench above your trip details. About 3 options down it says Print Trip Details where you can print the map and details to hand to someone or use yourself. About 4 options down is export the trip which allows you to send it to a GPS device, Excel, or your calendar. About 5 options down allows you to Share Trip. You can do this publically, privately, or to another Trip Wizard subscriber. We use this public option to share our trip on tigneradventures.com with all our subscribers. Hope this helps.
Click on the right side of the map about half way down where it says research. One of the tabs is hazards. The only hazard they list is based on height. Note however that if you have RV Safe Driving selected it by passes these hazards anyway. As far as tolls they don't list those as hazards. Under the trip settings you set if you want to avoid tolls. You can get there by clicking on the left side of the screen where it says Trip if you don't already have that window open. There is a wrench at the top of the section which you click on. Then click on the option trip settings, then routing and driving. The you will see the option that you can toggle on/off that says to avoid toll roads. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps.
Under the Routing and Driving tab in Trip Settings you can set types of roads to include or avoid. Also you can turn on drag route on the map and drag your route which ever way you want. i do this when I want to be routed through a National Park for example which it treats as a toll road since you have to buy a pass to travel it. But you could route your way around i75 if you don't want to travel on it for what ever reason. I also use a product called Mountain Directory which is in my description that shows all the bad roads to travel/avoid. Good questions.
@@TignerAdventures thanks you🙏, when I put my destination in Google Map it gives me two options one avoiding i75 but not with this, and the drag route just makes a zig zag mess of everything very difficult!
@@gmr228 It all comes down to the restrictions you place on the routing. If you want to do it manually the best thing to do is turn off all the restrictions and take control yourself.
Thanks for watching. Yep we now use Mountain Directory. If you go to our website and click on recommendations you will see our link for that and also a video you can watch where we reviewed it. Our site is tigneradventures.com.
Thanks for watching Karen. You can make it as complicated as you want or as simple as you want. Sorry if I made it so long but I was trying to make sure to answer any questions someone might have. I do all the planning and love how I can add the details.Trip Wizard is a great tool but it isn't for everyone.
