ep 12 is fs one of my favorite fights, i will always love seeing yang body slam people, one of the reasons shes one of my favs is solely how often you see actual martial arts/any hand to hand combat references during her battles.

It’s really scary that Salem knows exactly what to say to get under ironwood’s skin. Her plan all along was to take advantage of his personality and make him sacrifice everything. Looking back you can really see the shift James makes after he meets Salem

"I will sacrifice whatever it takes to stop her." He doesn't just mean his arm. He will sacrifice the entire world, and will personally murder every single person on the planet, in order to ensure he 'wins'. "Loyalty ALWAYS matters!" Except, Ironwood doesn't care about loyalty. He doesn't want loyalty, he wants obedience. They're not the same thing, but obedience is all he cares about, and anyone who isn't mindlessly obedient can die as far as he's concerned. I never understood how people could be surprised with the Ironwood 'twist'. He was like this way back in Volume 2, where he acted like HE was the only one allowed to make decisions, to the point where he was actively working against Ozpin because Ozpin wasn't blindly going along with his every whim. He's never been a 'good guy', he's always been a dictator - though Volume 7 did do a good job of making him seem redeemable at first, it was not a surprise that he ended up being an enemy.

The Atlas Arc is top tier if 7 and 8 were a single volume it would have been the one to dethrone 3 9 did that for me though I can't wait for the Vacuo Arc!

When Oscar told Ironwood about Salem, he said "I thought it was time you knew", he neglected to mention that Ruby had also decided to trust him, so that contributed to his anger too.
