A lot of people are still convinced that she’s from mantle. Combine that with how much attention was given to her and REN last volume and I’m sure she’ll be important

Agreed, we’ve got more background on Salem than we have cinder and she’s been there since the beginning, all I want is an episode dedicated to her upbringing/past or literally anything about who she used to be.

​@@Kaosi It could very well be either. It will probably depend on which Cinder cares for most: the immediate destruction of Ruby, or her potential long-term plans for the destruction of Salem. Given that Cinder decided to make Ruby suffer in Volume 5 by tormenting her friends instead of killing her instantly, and also how in Volume 7 she explicitly ordered Neo to prioritise the acquisition of the Relic over Ruby's death, I'd say that it'd most likely be the second option. For the entire series up to this point, Cinder has been playing the long game, and I don't think she's going to stop just yet.

Sending half of them away to Vacuo will severely lower their chance of success. And if Amity is made operational, the rest of the world can prepare for Salem and her forces. And since she's the common enemy the world needs to fight, all they'd have to do is get the relics together and have the Brothers deal with her.

Small correction she’s targeting OZ. Oscar is just a meat suit.

I was waiting for this. So now Salem wants to lock him up so he can't help Ruby and company and keep him alive on her terms. And while he's in her base, we'll get bits and pieces of more about the villains thru him.

Yeah the recent stuff has been some of the best, honestly. They're on a hot streak. And Volumes 8 and 9 were both written in a complete vacuum without looking at any of the discourse on Volume 7, since all three Volumes were written back to back to back.

hell yeah! volume 7 was imo some of the best looking fights we've had since the Monty era, and the storytelling is getting a bit better and it's overall really fun now

Same, I got my beefs with the show (like no black heroes who actually help the story along and travel with the heroes), but I still love the show for the most part.

Yeah RWBY has it's flaws, but that doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed by many. Besides, I'd love to see how the whole series plays. How Salem will be defeated, how Cinder dies (hopefully payback equal to what she did to Pyrrha, or even better), alot of things.

Cinder is always gonna be the diet coke of evil. She just all ego and no real badassness to lead a team and rule a nation.

​@@musspuss Fria was a fully-realised Maiden, the most powerful Maiden seen in the show thus far due to her much greater experience and time with the magic powers. Not even Raven could have taken her. But then again, Cinder was kinda nerfed in Volume 7 -- she didn't appear to use even _half_ as much power as the time she fought Raven. Cinder may not be able to defeat Salem in terms of power as she is now, but it's entirely possible that could change if she acquires more, for example, from the Relics and other Maidens. Regardless, there are other ways to beat Salem than with raw power, there's always cunning and manipulation that Cinder could employ to eventually gain an advantage over Salem at the right moments. Cinder could be looking down at Salem and Atlas' forces on top of that mountain and waiting for an opportunity to swoop in when the time is right. Who knows?

She _was_ the mastermind behind the events of the first 3 Volumes, after all, commanding pretty much every villain we saw, apart from Salem at the end. She's also the best fighter in all of RWBY apart from Ozma, a fact that on its own makes her one of the most badass characters in this show which is largely centred on fighting. She has all the skills necessary to be a world-conquering evil genius, including being a talented speaker and manipulator. She has the most personal conflicts with the heroes for many reasons, not least of which being her masterminding of the Fall of Beacon. She has the highest kill-count out of any character in the entire series, including having murdered Penny, Amber, Pyrrha and even Ozpin, all in the _very same night_ . Also, her theme tunes/leitmotifs and song(s) are so cool and sinister, great for a villain.

Apparently you were not informed that the first 3 volumes were the prologue, the show STARTED in volume 4. If you don't like it, don't watch it. I LOVE it.

@@jeffreysmith236 I did enjoy season 1-3, it was nice. but the execution of season 4 and 5 was really off, camera work, dialogue, choreography, writing seem like it prolonged more than it should be and was very clunky, ... For what it was, I did enjoy the tone of this anime getting more serious at some point and progress to be bleaker and grittier. Thanks for the info that it was the prologue. But I'll just drop it for now.

@@GrimReaver since I think and feel that RWBY is the most enjoyable show I have seen in 58 years I have to disagree. The 3 years of prologue were a very entertaining buildup, and who knew it was prologue until after watching? Nobody. Go make your own show genius.

@@rai4119 It's funny because i don't think he (Ironwood) cared one whit about Ozpin coming out. He shot Oscar because he was a threat and he was removing a threat, now I say this not as a criticism of Ironwood or the writing but I feel it's very in character for how he'd been written up to then. He'd been pushed and pushed, Salem is at his door step, RWBY and co had betrayed him (for no real reason) and here's Oscar/Ozpin who was supposed to as betraying him. So he's now taking extreme measures to do what's necessary to protect the lives of those he can and remove the threats of those who are threatening them. I"m not certain why your throwing the quote 'wanting to kill the whole human race because of money/my ego being slightly bruised' at me, you'll have to explain it as I found Ironwood to be the *best* written character of Vol 7 and it's a shame so many people aren't getting that, just the "he's a bad, evil fascist man" who just needs to be put down like Salem because he hurt 'poor poor Oscar the little child'.

Which can be further justified when Salem said "bring him to me" and the only key players that I think can fill that role are Qrow, Oscar, maybe Watts??? (Trying to get him back from atlas possibly)
