RX 5700 XT vs RTX 3060 Test in 10 Games | 2023 

Not in 1440p.-. In any of the game here

search on internet. you'll find a lot of videos in 1440p at same perfomance that 3060@@Birdman._.

Blower Asus 5700xt w/360 AIO on it and i7 9700. This plays pretty much everything at 1080p. I got lucky and found the 5700xt on FBMP for $50 freshly listed and just came off a water block. I have always been a Nvidia user and am impressed on what this card can handle.

But only the RX 5700 (XT) models are as cheap as 130 bucks! ;o) The RX 6600 XT / RTX 3060 are only preferable if you are gaming like 5 hours a day and worry about the electricity bill.

Got a used 5700 xt for 135 a couple weeks ago, very happy with being able to play on hjgh settings in all my games

maybe the hour of the day in the game was not the same betwenn the tests 🤷‍♂

The Rx 5700xt is not a able to run the game with ultra texture duo to it's 8gb vram otherwise the 12gb on the 3060 helped it in this scenario

It's the nature of the beast. My gtx 1080 system could handle most things when it was new at 1440p, now it struggles with modern titles at 1080p. My 3090 will eventually be delegated to 1080p as will the 4090 in a few years. Progress is an inevitability.

Btw the name 2k is confusing because it indicates it'd be half the pixels in width compared to 4k, but that's not the case. 1080p actually has 1920 pixels and is therefore the only resolution that could be considered 2k as it is half of 4k's 3840 pixels in width. 1440p can logically only really be called 1440p, 2.5k or QHD as it has 4 times the total amount of pixels as HD. And yes, the Rx 5700 XT and 2070s were never 4k, but 1440p cards instead. The 2080 series were actually the 4k capable cards and AMD had no competitor then. Therefore it's actually nothing surprising how the 5700 XT performs because it was a 1440p card and 4 years later it's a 1080p card, seems legit

That would explain why they get similiar performance because i believe the 12gb version is much faster that the rx 5700 xt

It's an advertising link, probably redirected to what's in stock. Look at the Hogwart's section of the video, the 3060 is using more than 8GB of VRAM so it must be the 12GB.

You see a gigabyte as its marketed isn't a precise decimal number nor is a terabyte on hard drives. Esp for Hard drives one they are formatted. To be precise a Gigabyte is precisely 1,073,741,824 when you x that by 8 you do indeed get 8Gb as the product is marketed. However in actuality when you 8 x1,073,741,824 (1 GB) = Some 8.589 GB total Which you can see in the hardware peak at during that Hogwarts clip. So that would be 100% utilization Indeed if it was anything other than an 8GB card it would;ve briefly or continuously used more, given the high setttings. As it was mentioned on many card that the large textures weren't loading into many 8GB cards in Hogwarts leaving blurred areas and at times textures that would "pop" into the scene at times. This is before you even started going to 1440 and 4k. Admittedly tho those data points were taken from release where it was quite a scandal how poorly optimised it was on launch. Kind of how Starfield is now. Hope this helps clarify what and why i said in my OG comment..

If you look in the resident evil 4 it uses over 8gb of vram compared to the 5700xt which is slightly below it at 7.5gb (it's also the only title where the 5700xt loses the hardest) so it is infact the 12gb model.

Depends on the price. If you're buying brand new then no. At the price the 5700 xt is at you'd be better off getting an rx 7600. The 7600 does perform better and is at the same cost or lower brand new. Unless you can find it "refurbished" or used at a decent price. Anything over 200 is a bit much for the card. I use to have one an loved it but upgraded to a 6800xt. A 4060 would be way to expensive for the same performance as the rx 7600. So i'd suggest the RX 7600. Don't get me wrong the RX 5700 XT is awesome but... with its cost brand new being generally $250 the RX 7600 is a better choice.

is the first gen of RDNA isnt fair to compare it against a nvidia 3000 card ..... better compare with the gtx 16xx or rtx 2xxx

are you braindamaged ? lmao used 3060 is 170~, a 6700 xt is 300+

try install AMD pro drivers.

Switch the bios to silent via the hardware switch on the card, see if it boots. If it does the bios was altered as a mining card.

you have installed the wrong driver .. always install the recommended driver for your card.. or try to install the driver on the manufacturer of your gpu brand.. also download the original bios of your card and install it.. and make sure your psu is the recommended for your card... and re seed your card try to clean the gold contacts with an eraser.. hope it helps..

New or used? New ,then, don't get ether of those. The rx 7600 is around the same cost as the 5700xt and performs a little better so get it. Used? If you can find the 5700xt for 190 or less then go for that. 3060 is overpriced and so is the 4060. I'm going off Newegg new pricing by the way.

I had both and the 3060 drivers is better. Kept getting blue screen with 5700xt

@@Closamp_1I’m confused by that comment too, but the newest drivers from couple of months ago have been perfect for the RX 5700 XT. I have it as well for my gaming pc and haven’t had any crash since 2022 when getting new drivers early in the year of 2022. I have the red devil rx 5700 XT. Though the crashes were rare in those times, was a one time thing like monthly or so.

This is the best answer: Maybe in this game the engine uses instructions that Ampere arch is faster, RDNA and Ampere does not manage Integers and floats in the same way.

4060 Ti obviously if they are the same price, it's almost as fast as a 3070, plus it has Frame Generation which is useful in single player games. However, if you only play competitive titles, you should get a 6700/6750 XT or the new 7700 XT which launches in 2 days, depending on the price.

Same as RX 5700 XT. Same performance. Take a look at Hardware Unboxed RX 5700 XT videos to get more data.

5700xt uses roughly 20-40 watts more than the 3060 12gb which is very minimal while being soooooo much cheaper. For reference in our country, a used 5700xt costs 8k php or 142 usd while the cheapest 3060 costs 16,000 php or 285 usd which is literally twice the cost of 5700xt

Nope, it's not "better" cuz the 3060 is just as powerful depending on the game but has 12GB and more features. However, why wouldn't you buy the 5700 XT?!? It's almost $100 cheaper used than an used 3060!

Lots of used mining ones are available. The trick is finding one that is in good condition and that they didn't flash a mining bios to.
