That's why rebounds exist. besides, it's been around a year since AMD released the Polaris gpu's and all the older gpu's just have their life expectancy enhanced further by the continued driver support. Nvidia Wants to make money, hence they cut driver support relatively fast. AMD wants to build a loyal customer base, so they support their older cards for as long as possible. that is admirable. Gamers Nexus used synthetic benchmarks. one which is very sensitive to high frequency. that does not reflect real world results. I got both cards. one In a mitx build and one in my sons pc. the RX 470 does indeed outperform the 1060. especially in Dx12 games.

new process, better die = ~100 mhz higher clocks (up to ~1500mhz oc), better "chill", lower multi monitor power consumption. You can reduce power consumption by reducing voltage which are set way too high by default on most manufacturers. This is a ~130W card if tuned right.

I´ve got my xfx 480 up to 1445 mhz stable.. and let it run on 1425mhz all day usage on my 2nd pc. Heat isn´t a problem at all.. max temps during an 8 hours test were just 71 celsius which is totaly fine and normal. So basicly.. they are dropping the price.. which is nice.. and coming along with a factory oe.

But the increased frame rate beyond 1350 is just shit,so whats the point? ; (100 mhz); 8% O/C, 4.3% frame rate, 13% power increase. Waste of bloody time and noise. Way better to undervolt at ~ 1340.

Well, Hardware specs wise, RX480 should've been *somewhat* closer to GTX1070 performance to begin with. (RX480 had around 20% better core config, while GTX1070 had 30% higher core clock. With rest of the specs being pretty much 1:1) So I wouldn't be all that surprised if RX580, having made several small fixes and improvements here and there, would outperform GTX1070 in *some* titles.

Its possible because it's GTA V. That game is optimized very well.

Drivers have not been optimized the rx480 is starting to outpace the gtx 1060 in dx 12 games in some newer titles so i will definetly change my gtx 780 into a rx580.

Glen S chill isn't a power save feature it's designed to limit core clock load to reduce temps. If you're standing there doing nothing or on a pause screen in GTA you don't need the 90 fps and the load it puts on the card, or playing an old game where you get 180 fps, and your monitor is only 60 hz anyway, your card is being worked way more than necessary.
