I made this video on 3/24/2024. Sorry for the super late post but I had quite a few videos lined up and I'm trying to only upload 1 video a week.
Wobbly 14mm Wheel Video: • Wobbly 14mm Rear wheels
I finally got my Mod out and really put time and effort to set the fastest lap on the track in March because I was going out of Country and I want to see if anyone can match or beat the fast lap. Honestly, I know someone can beat it because when the layout was set and I took my Mod car on it (someone who drives 1/8th scale asked me if I can show him how fast a MiniZ in Mod class go around the track) and in less than 20 laps, I set 6.8 seconds fast lap. So I’m thinking if I put effort, I can probably hit 6.5-6.6 seconds. The following day I focused on my Mod car and I was only able to do 6.73 fast lap and I came back to try to beat that time at least 3 more days and I couldn’t! The most I did was 6.74 with Gear Diff and Ball Diff (6.73 with Ball Diff btw). The next fast lap came in at 6.8 but he only tried to beat it in one day. My fast lap on my first day was also 6.8 so I say we are even. The 3rd fast lap is 6.99. There’s a new layout now for April 2024 and I'm not in the mood to be doing fast laps especially in Mod. The whole point of this is to find out if my car (Gen 1) and its setup is still very competitive or if I should just go ahead and build my Gen 2. This is the only reason why I put an effort on my Mod car in March and its good to know that the RX28SE G1 and my setup is still up there.
I’m not a fan of the Modified class speed in today’s Mod Class. Driving the Mod also doesn't feel like I'm connected with the car. It’s just too fast! I don’t like the amount of time you have to spend tuning and servicing the car. I like the speed in the 3500 class better for Mod class but if I have to choose on which class to enter, it would be the 2500 class (or Kyosho 8500KV with AAA). Only because there’s very minimal mistake in driving, minimal service and tuning, close battles and it uses hard body so the body lasts longer vs Lexan body and a lot easier to prep the body too especially the Kyosho White Body vs Lexan.
Update 4/22/2024:
I'm back in the States now and I have not ran my Mod car or even put effort on my 2500 and 3500 cars. I have been driving and really enjoying the MR04's (2) that I bought recently. Maybe I’ll work on my 3500 next month (May).
