The discussion around 34:59 resonated with me so much because that's me. I'm 33. I love fighting games but life is so busy it's not possible for me to grind. Hearing what Chris and Fchamp discuss regarding that topic in particular was so valuable for me. This is the podcast and content that the FGC needs! Keep up the great work Chris!

I'm 40, I can only play 1h30 per day. a little more on the weekend... So frustating.. Since I have so little time I don't do the lab's stuff, I just want to fight against other people. So I gave up the grind. I'm going online only and trying to get master with all chars.. I hate my life...

I'm a professional musician. I can't play street fighter to save my life...I play tekken with my father in law for fun, (he always be talkin trash lol). These interviews even help in my line of work honestly, the mentality you talk about when competing in tournaments is the same mindset we use when touring and playing on world class stages. Always had a lot of respect for you Chris T, love these interviews! Much love!

Yeah, same with infiltration. I do think if people engage in undesirable behaviour then a ban is appropriate… however, it should have a reasonable time limit. 6 months, 12 months… but indefinite is wrong.

@@missing_scorehonestly as a black person neither of them did anything wrong. Infiltration was making a factual statement of when you are friends with someone you can speak to them in the must vulgar way possible (which is true WE ALL DO IT)! And F champ just made a fucking joke, whether it was poorly timed or not. Not to mention how the light was shown on the BLM movement and we now see how it worked against black plight overall. They turned a REAL social issue “trendy” and one thing we all know about trends is they die. Now because of situations like BLM when people ACTUALLY experience real racism they get ignored because the ignorant masses believe we “fixed” racism back in 2020 but in reality it had an adverse affect. Bans within a moment are fine but when more information comes out or the perception of reality changes you have a RESPONSIBILITY, to go fix the mistakes you made @capcom…… free F Champ, free Infiltration, two of the only FGC personalities that never where and will never be a bunch of pussies.🙏🏽

Awesome episode, this interview was fantastic. Just great to hear from one of the GOATs. I also enjoyed how he touched on the focus and dedication it takes to compete in these fighting games. That subject was a eye opener for me personally because I feel I can get to some of the highest levels of play but the way my life is structured now( wife & kids) opposed to before them, I need to adjust my expectations and it’s ok to do that. Still looking to compete but with very little time to train and play like before set more realistic goals and reach those goals. Really appreciate this episode 🙏 unbanning FChamp would be awesome as well 🤘💯

I am not a competitor in the FGC, but play some on the side and watch tourneys and appriciate the talent I agree that much of the current day drama and beef seems theatrical and made up....and childish. I do not understand Twitter beef at all and don't understand the need to publicly vent every single emotion online. Then again, I am in my 40's so i see a great deal of immaturity within the fgc that makes many of the talented players quite off putting . I guess I should just chalk it up to not being the primary target audience.

I haven’t watched all of this video yet. Up to the 39min mark but I kind of disagree a little bit. I think that since the games are technically more ‘simple’ than prior games like SF4, and more information and players are more accessible via internet and online play with good NetCode, doesn’t it therefore follow that a person who puts in less time actually has a greater chance of winning than in the past? Consider that due the game getting more ‘simple’, there is going to be more variance in gameplay. So technically, if you go to a tournament, and you have played consistently for 2 to 4 hrs per day, I’m thinking that you have a better chance of winning in say SF6 than games back in the day like SF4. The distinction to be made is the difference between a ‘consistently winning’ player vs a person who has sufficient skill that can take advantage of the ‘variance’ in the game to win at tournaments. The only flaw here is being able to win consistently enough to reach the finals of said tournament. I’m not a pro player or anything so obviously you guys know what you are talking about but I just listened in this interview on the issue of variance and increased information and accessibility to online players. True that without being able to play against the top players on a consistent basis it would be much more difficult but if you do get access to enough of them I’m thinking that the variance in the game could offset that deeper knowledge more in say SF6 than in SF4. I’m not sure. Great interview. Having said all that, I’m sure I’m wrong because I don’t have the knowledge or experience to really comment but I’m just curious. I wonder. The counter to what I said is in who is actually winning the tournaments and the evidence is showing that it’s the same top professional players who are consistently winning tournaments. I wonder if that will remain the case over the lifespan of the game?
