Those 6'4" guys always get the worst from Chara, HUGE disadvantage at any weight. People act like Chara cannot fight because its so hard for him to hit guys much smaller than him on skates. Getz knows thats not a fair fight at all. Its not even about fight skill at that point

When Chara played for the Prince George cougars i saw him go into the corner and hit this guy. This guy was easily under 6 ft and he didnt like the hit. without even looking too see who hit him he dropped his gloves then looked at Chara. The second he saw who he was about fight you could visibly see his shoulders drop and accept his rash decision. Chara hit him a few times and shook him like a rag doll.

Actually Chara got the punches in while the ref held Getzlafs arms... Interested to see the lawsuit when someone gets seriosly injured due to a ref taking away their ability to defend themselves.... surprised it hasn't happened yet. This case was especially shocking because the ref didn't have the awareness to realize that chara can just punch right over him.
the goalie#1 The only punch Chara lands is at 1:14 and if you watch in slow-mo hes clearly trying to block the punch but the ref has his left arm pinned down. But dont let facts rain on your parade.

Getzlaf is no puss but Chara would kill him. Guys as big as Getzlaf are actually the best matchup for punches from Chara. Easiest guys he can hit square in the face and both players know it. Smaller guys can actually avoid most of Chara's hits clean and sway him off balance to survive. Getzlaf could be dead meat, those are the big guys Chara eats for lunch as opposed to 6 footers and below in wobble matches of wack a mole But what the hell was he so mad about? It was obvious Getzlaf is a cheap shot, he does it through his entire career, he was afraid of Chara from start, proves how he started backing from Chara right after cheapshot slashing him and no interest to take off gloves, he went to hide behind refs but it backfired for him because the linesman held getzlaf pinned while chara punched him, its not called cheap fight from Charas side, that was simply karma for Getzlafs actions

i mean chara would prolly fuck him up, and getz wasnt exactly seeking the fight, but if the refs were not there getz woulda 100% gone chara, the cheapshot with punches of that level is a lil too much though. if i can remember the game both teams were taking runs, its always like that with the ducks vs bruins, both teams like to play aggresive big heavy games.

Hate when refs come inbetween a player when Chara wants to go. You either fight him or dont bother. Sick of some players in the NHL hiding behind refs. Getslaf shoulda fought him. The guy is like 7 foot on skates, so what... learn how to throw them. Not everyone is Tie Domi throwing them with Probert. But what are you afraid of? Fighting is decreasing every year to a point where it rarely happens but in my eyes its bad for the game. We all want speed and skill but the hated rivalries and the tenaciousness of players is going. Its turning so soft, no one even hits much anymore. Its an embaressment for fuck sakes!
