I got to see almost all the 2nd motos. And watched Ryno on the 86 just dragging like 5 inches of the bottom of the forks through crazy deep ruts. Cool to see him and Jeffro out there on 2smokes
My dad had an 86 cr 250. He gor ir when i was 8. Scariest thing ive ever been on . he use to race his buddys ktm 500 2 stroke with me on the back. He blew up the bike. But i had so much love for it he never got rid of it. Im 24 now and he recently rebuilt it. I terrorized him. Never get rid of it. . we still have it today.
KJ should have rode his KX5 too, woulda been wicked cool. Ryno you’re an inspiration to us older guys who still love the sport and want to continue riding and racing as long as possible, and to the new guys too, keep charging!
I could feel my hand after I rode an 86 CR 500... that's because I broke it when I looped out over a double. Don't try and ride a 500 like a 125 and keep it on the pipe. I learned that the hard way.
Frick'n awesome. Great job Ryan. Maybe a bit of nostalgia, but no bike has ever felt so good from a ergo point of view as my '85 CR125. Loved that bike.
That was fun!!!!!!!!!! Love how you are having fun again and hope you do another fun project like this next year. Give us normal Joes something to enjoy and watch. THANK YOU, Flyin' Ryan!!!
I would rather watch this than pro racing today. I enjoy the racers efforts and the aftermarket efforts. Other than that, there is not much I like about the sport that formed my life since 1974, because we don't own the sport anymore.
@@EarthSurferUSAyes, agreed! It may be generational, but so much changed so quickly back then with all those MX bikes; it was just almost special to wait for the new magazine to show up…or go buy a different MX magazine from the old newsstands! Read EVERY word, even the ads! Then turn wrenches on your own bikes in the carport, trying out “tech tips” etc💪 Seems like times were so much better (in a way) than now? Very “authentic” days. I still ride the old 2-strokes, and still enjoy riding just as much as always (just more careful); can’t seem to get into the new stuff?!🤷🏻♂️I may be resistant to change…lol
It was a pleasure to witness this awesomeness trackside. I live just outside of Nashville and haven't missed Loretta's in 29 years. Blessed *Thank you squaw and Moony for all the years of joy and competition. RIP big guy
Such an epic race with Ryno aboard 2 stroke 86 CR 250, Emig on his 2 stroke TC 150 only if Brown would've been on a 2 Stoke to top off the cool factor but still rocking it on the holeshots.
"He got that scar from fencing" pretty sure he got that from going off the track and hitting a fence and Knocking him self out at a practice track. That's in a RacerX magazine and in an interview somewhere. I'm 100% sure that, that's 69% accurate.
That was better than the National I watched before it. I only watched it to see the old CR and expected everyone to be on old bikes. Real interesting, Good ride for sure.
AMAZING, SIMPLY AMAZING. Love seeing you and the boys brrrrrrrrrrrrrp. Brownie and Emig all of you...I got a 96 RM 125, you wanna rebuild it and do what you do...;) Classic Stuff, from a Classy Man! Thanks for Sharing. :)
Good ride by Ryno on an unknown bike he was a last minute pencil him in outstanding....good charge....he finally figure out where the bike had its power 2 laps to go...
That 1986 Honda was a real good bike in coparision i got my 86 off a local unadilla vet pro champ so mine had fresh ness fork an shock were dialed an it had RJ pipe on P circuit bonus it was ready
For the "still" picture on the main page of YT with this vid on the page, we can't see Ryan's head on that 1986 CR250, but his posture looks like he is wearing a neck brace. :)
That was a cool race, and on a stock cylinder, just an fyi a big bore trx cylinder is a bolt on, believe you can go 330cc on the stock bottom end without case boring, that and a pipe would be nasty
Fucking amazing ryno the only thing this race mighta needed is some steve lamson on the 1-800 collect cr 125 1996 but this was a real treat ryno sick shit!!!
Ryno can talk about the 86 all he wants he keep an giving Barry fits...he riding well considering he just jumped on that not ready to race bike..it wasnt prepped...for him...lorettas is a work out an the motos are longer...barrys on a new bike go ryno go ryno
I wish wish wish Carmichael will race the vet class once he turns 45. Ill say it now... RC would dominate the 45+ vet class. I believe RC would dominate the +25 and +30 classes right now
How is this 1986? Monster Energy was introduced in 2006? Plus those bikes are definitely not 80’s models… maybe 2006 Loretta’s…. Edit… lol okay so he is on an 86 bike lol 🤦♂️

Instead of being able to pick the best spot which is closest to the corner of course they should just tilt the start line and make it the same distance to the corner I mean come on do a change 2021 the one thing I think is they also have too many riders on the track
that just tells you really the old pros on dirt bike still can ride how ever they are using there skills they had . the old baseball pitchers could never compete at major leauge levels they could compete against amatures i am sure older big deal
