Here’s the problem for Kav Kavs lawsuit for defamation. The SCOTUS set a standard in 1967 that public figures have a MUCH higher bar to clear for defamation than a normal person because they are expected to take a lot of criticism being public figures. Therefore it is MUCH harder to clear the bar legally for defamation cases which is why Kav Kav probably has no chance at winning and I’m sure Ethan’s lawyer has advised him of this.

@@Willfully_Ignorant Lawyers are expensive. Defending yourself against a defamation suit is expensive. I'll remind you that Hulk Hogan sued Buzzfeed out of existence five years ago, so the limits of what constitutes defamation against a public figure aren't insurmountable. I realize the facts are different, but these videos are pretty blatant, especially since Ethan's implicitly calling for everyone to leave bad reviews on the guy's app. I'm not a lawyer, but there's a reason why people stop talking when they get sued.

@@jeffreygordon7194yeah but the lawsuit with hulk was completely different. Buzfeed completely made up a story about him wit no truth to it at all. This guy Kav Kav has already been to court for some of the same type of accusations he’s suing Ethan for supposedly defaming him on and a judge has decided he falsified documents to try to cover the allegations up. I understand lawyers usually tell there clients not to talk about a case while it’s pending but trying to compare this to the Hulk Hogan case is like trying to compare apples to oranges in my opinion. I don’t disagree that it’s certainly a good idea to shut you mouth about a case that’s pending but I don’t agree that talking about someone who is suing you doing horrible things to people should help there lawsuit unless it is blatantly false what your accusing him of.

What would you suggest you do when someone sues you for something that isn't valid to try to get you to shut up? I support Ethan continuing to talk. He's done nothing defamatory.
