In this episode, Ted Stryker welcomes Ryan Key, singer for Yellowcard to Tuna On Toast. After breaking up in 2016, Yellowcard reunited in 2022 and Ryan tells Stryker all about how the band got back together. Yellowcard also has a new EP called ‘Childhood Eyes’ and Ryan goes into detail about the EP and its title track. This summer Yellowcard will be out playing some of the biggest shows of their career to celebrate the 20tth anniversary of their album ‘Ocean Avenue.' Where is the real Ocean Avenue? Why was the song “Ocean Avenue” almost left off the album? And how quickly did things blow up for Yellowcard after the album came out? Ryan answers these questions and more. He also explains how he handles the band's haters, and details his deep passion for all things Star Wars. Subscribe to the podcast, leave us a comment or review, follow Tuna On Toast on socials and thank you - as always - for making this show possible!

Kind of feels serendipitous that Yellowcard returned this year. Ocean Ave turns 20 this month. WYTTSY still remains highly underrated imo. Welcome back Both Ryans, Sean, & Josh. 🎻🎸🤘🏽

The new EP is fantastic. Especially Hiding in the Light and The Places We'll Go. Up there with my all time favourite tracks you've ever written. And for the record, Lift A Sail and the self-titled album are fantastic too. I love all the evolutions you went through. Really hope you come to the UK soon!

My former band played with Yellowcard and Inspection 12 right after Scott passed. I remember the day it happened. Warren, the former bassist of YC told me on AIM.

@@TunaonToastwithStrykerHi I just found your channel not long ago, and I just wanted to thank you for creating part of my childhood with Burnout 3. I always thought that Stryker was just a character made for the game, I was surprised to out that you are real. Again I can't thank you enough and I'm looking forward to listening to your videos.

@@TunaonToastwithStryker The one and only DJ Stryker! You actually replied to my comment! I’ve been playing Burnout 3 since I was very young , you always brought me the info I needed about the tracks, the events and brought me the best music. This was the first ever video game I’ve ever played. This game brought me into racing games & F1, and I still play it to this day. I can see the game in the background! You are a legend, Stryker❤

I find it interesting that he speaks so candid about the “indie” label that signed them. And doesn’t speak a word or the name of the label. That’s the label that got Ryan and yellowcard where they are. Not to mention, the guitarist, they recruited, Ryan, was from the same label. Staring back. The label is called Lobster Records. The amount of arrogance of this guy. He says he’s regrouped his mental state. What a bunch of garbage. He still has some work to do. I toured with him on the same label. He’s always been a tool. Even when he wasn’t a rockstar. He had an ego from the get go. Ep too, oops, meant Lp. Sorry but it’s true.

1:07:19 "Just split the hotel room with 4 other people, bro."" Disney shills are out of their minds lmao. No one wants to cram 5 people into a hotel room for some terrible sequel trilogy themed "experience." Of course I "want to hate it," it sucks!
