Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney invest in top flight Mexican club Necaxa and in a reciprocal arrangement they sell investors 5% of Wrexham FC] #ryanreynolds #wrexhamfc #robmcelhenney #wrexham #welcometowrexham #necaxa
Imagine the power of all their Combined Social Media following, probably worth millions alone in worldwide exposure to their own personal individual fan bases I’d guess there will be new social media traffic heading towards Wrexham AFC
Is the intention to market both clubs in that way or will Rob and Ryan's investment in the Mexican club be kept separate? Its going to be interesting to where this heads.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzonetwo different sets of owners that can benefit from each others Fanbases and knowledge In turn will draw in new revenues and sponsorship opportunities A step for Wrexham to being able to afford the additional expense of a team heading towards the Championship I don’t see our owners wanting a team to be bobbing up and down in L1
I don't think the fans will either. We have been spoilt over this past 2 seasons with promotion. I can imagine friendlies between the both teams and maybe some sort of merch.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone I feel now L1 is not a dream but a reality, you can sense a little change in the tone, if interviews are correct early new signings, maybe now a larger new Stand, I sense the owners are not going to mess around, and will see the Championship as an achievable goal that will in turn increase the revenue whilst creating content for the Documentary Ones thing for sure Stockport just painted a target on their back, after all we now need a new Notts County as a focus
I think they're trying to pre-prepare themselves and the team. In the a recent interview Rob and Ryan had, Ryan wants to get the team promoted as quickly as possible. My guess is they want to get promoted to League 1 to the Championship next season and looking to get serious partners and investment. Because the money they've invested in Wrexham isn't uncommon in League 1.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone If R&R want Wrexham to play in the Premium League and compete, they will need a 50K seat stadium. Without government funding on several levels, there is not much hope that will happen
They do want to get promoted quickly. I believe they can get promoted again next season. But they definitely will struggle in the championship since they will lack money. Remember, they are trying to make sure the team is self-sufficient. That can't happen till they can make more money from ticket sales. They won't increase the prices so the only other way is to upgrade the grounds. But they hit a major roadblock with just the first Kop. So imagine the trouble they will face when trying to upgrade the others.
@@WrexhamAFCfanzone I saw that interview as well, that was on colliders RU-vid channel, this might give an idea as to why there are delays to build out the Kop And the fact they want to add further changes to the design. Rob said they want to do the Kop first then do the Techend. I suspect they want to do something to what Tottenham did to their stadium, like hosting NFL matches or have large music events
@lhouseatreides4128 the government sucks. They should get behind them for bringing tourist and developed to Wrexham this in turn will help the whole wales
I think Wrexham's success will largely boil down to the show and international fanbase. Without the international interest i think their a good championship team under Rob and Ryan, still not bad considering the 7th highest paid league in the world. With the international interest then premership and who knows. Rob and Ryan are not stupid. They know they cant do the premier League purely on their own funding
How does the community feel about the 5% sale? I thought the idea of Rob and Ryan was to work with the community to build up the club and eventually return it to them. Obviously there's profiting along the way but I would hate to see a team with all heart be sold into shares.
I am not sure. A lot of people are waiting for some official announcement. I am reserving judgement really because I can see it as a positive yet have some doubts too.
I think the community would still care most about performing well, being able to celebrate wins. For fans there's no better feeling than to see your team win. If they do end up in the Premier league at some point I doubt anyone will complain.
We just need to keep our feet on the ground. Back to back promotion is great but we need to look at the great picture and not expect to get promoted all the time.
So… I’ve followed Necaxa (Neck-cax-ah) since I was 6 y/o. The club has been used and abused, it’s been used as a farming club for its older brother Club America, before it was sold and moved to Aguas Calientes (the Rhode Island of Mexico). The thing I’m worried about is the corruption of Liga MX spreading to Wrexham. Liga MX is toxic af, and the league itself uses a lot of cheaper talent from South America which I don’t see why we need to invest in a Liga MX to acquire, we could just go to the source.
I told you in the very beginning not to sell. After this news, (which I believe is only the start of the next big sell off) it has gone further than just being a Tinsel Town circus.
It doesn't feel good. talk of seling stakes and all that, feels like conflict. I'm not invested in the football club, but I'm invested in Wrexham, so this feels like a compromise and could spell trouble down the line.
