The writers did a shitty job ending this relationship. Sure, nick and jess were always meant to be endgame, but they could’ve ended these two a better way. Their ending just seems too sudden and uncharacteristic to be believable. This relationship was an actual, long, love-level relationship too, but the writers just got rid of it like it was some short term hook up type situation.
Yes, thank you! Ryan was always super sweet and respectful. It felt very uncharacteristic of him to just completely ghost Jess. I feel like the writers could have at least done the whole “long distance relationships are hard” story line because Ryan deserved a better ending. Justice for Ryan!
It's the endless paradox of Jessica Day. The creators made a character that is loyal, trusting, kind, and brave but placed her in a show based around hooking up and having fun, and that's perfectly fine, but Jess and all of her relationships always end up feeling like good, actual relationships. So when she needs to break up with whomever in order to continue the plot along it's never organic. The character makes the show great but simultaneously can't exist wholly within said show.
Muriel Mackie but her relationships were all good actual relationships that’s the thing. The writers should’ve made a more realistic plot for their break up but they did it in a way that didn’t fit the character of Ryan
@@sallysmith8408 exactly!! Because she's who she is, her good, strong character is going to be with good, strong partners and as such her relationships always seem real and healthy. But then of course the cyclical, somewhat shallow, sex-based plot of the show demands she go through a slew of different gentlemen, so either the men break character or cheap drama is concocted to keep her and whomever apart.
Same haha. I wish that Ryan was the last love interest before Jess officially ended up with Nick. That way, their relationship could’ve been much longer because they had such a stable relationship.
i actually liked them they had a very good chemistry the show should have actually made them last he is the first guy that was perfect for jess even though i do like nick
Well to be fair. Jess always has a good chemistry with all the guys she dated. I dont know how the show did it but all the guys she dated are actually good guys she can end up with!
I really loved them together, I absolutely love Julian Morris, pity they had to rush the relationship because he got another show, seemed way to rushed
I cant believe they ended the relationship so quickly. Ryan literally flew to America for Christmas when Jess said her flight was canceled yet he couldn't show up for for a simple wedding??? fakenews
Well I prefer Ryan over Sam as a recurring character for Jess But I know Nick is endgame but if they were gonna bring back an ex, id prefer him over Sam any day
dude it's like 2 am and i'm just bingewatching random new girl clips that are in my recommended... this is what happens when YT realizes what a mentally unstable girl's favorite show is lmao
