Pointless exercise unless tuition on how to avoid obstructing an opponent while carrying it out is included i.e. distance from opponent , timing and the need for lateral movement to put and keep the ball, at all times, beyond the playing reach of the opponent/s being eluded. Simply imposing the body between an opponent and the ball to shield the ball and prevent a tackle attempt is a foul.
