I have had my Ryobi scroll for like 20 plus years, it stills works good but i do need to replace my air line on it, my grandkids think its the bomb, they love when i cut small things out for them to make. it has paid for itself in the happiness it has giving us over the years. this was a good video thanks.
Yes it is a very good scroll saw U have been using it for year's and untill now it is in good condition, I have 2 unit of that 16 inches scroll saw, and one of the good thing is, I make wooden scroll saw out of my Ryobi Scroll saw, almost 8 wooden scroll saw I had made❤️👍👍👍thanks for sharing,,
I had a Ryobi scroll saw that was bought over 10 years ago - it was great but finally broke. As it had been so good I went out and bought this one which apart from colours and the now variable speed control looked identical. Afraid I have been very disappointed with my initial use, the throat plate used to be metal its now crappy plastic that on mine isn't even flush and causes pieces to hang leading to vibration and chatter, the light is rubbish, the blowpipe is rubbish and I am hoping it is just the blade that it came with but it doesn't cut well at all, wanders, grabs so I am very very disappointed so far. I will try a new blade hopefully that improves things, not sure what to do about the throat plate. I have had a lot of Ryobi tools over the years and have always been pleased, I really hope this isn't the direction they are going in.
@@brumrunner15 I just bought one! I did have to exchange it cause the tension knob was broken. It was bent forward and it really messed with the machine. Lots of vibration. New one is working well!!
As an owner of this and wish I wasn't I will warn all lookers to keep looking. This saw is poorly designed especially in both the top and bottom screws that hold the saw blade. Both will strip and break from the plastic knob that holds the screw that locks the blade in place. Leaving you with almost no way to tighten or release the blade. Keep shopping elsewhere. This is junk!
Nice to see it in action.. you clearly think it's worth it, but at least for me, from the little you've shown us in your video, it's not possible to make an informed choice whether it's worth it or not.. it would have been helpful if you could have gone into more depth.
This is a comment I read from another video I watched about this scroll saw and was wondering if it's true for anyone else?: "This saw is poorly designed especially in both the top and bottom screws that hold the saw blade. Both will strip and break from the plastic knob that holds the screw that locks the blade in place." Looks to be a comment Jay Weinstein posted on this video too.
