***Corrections & Updates*** -When I said it didn't have the strongest attack in the midbass I meant lower bass like 30-45hz. -When I referred to the s400 not having the most prominent bass below 50 & 70hz I meant between 50 & 70hz.
Yeah bro!! I just need to do the F12SE but my damn back is out of commission right now. Hopefully I can do it next weekend. I feel like I fully understand it now.
It keeps the driver safe as well... the amp is “listening” for a return electrical signal from the driver and compares it to the signal it sent to the speaker. The amp compares the outgoing signal to the return signal to look for any distortions between the two. So it’s less about “quantity” of bass and more about “quality” of bass. It’s a super cool tech... great review!
It does not have an accelerometer. It has a sensing coil. Some argue it is not as good but all that matters is how it sounds. Less expensive parts that could break.
🤣 You crack me up bro! Now I have to read all the comments to see if anybody even “tried“ to give you shit about the “Servo” explanation! Always classy and kind, and funny 😂 af! (Bad back? Add it to all the other things we have in common! 🙃
Shame they don't make it anymore. Seems like a great option. They make the FM8 with 2x8" drivers which I just ordered. Maybe 2x10" might be the perfect design option.
I just got my rythmik e15s and I am impressed - their fast, go deep and add a new dimension to music - I have limited experience with SVS which are good subs but wanted something more for music and these combined with my focal aria 936s are magic to me - the best subs musically I have ever heard - rythmik surpassed my expectations and your review helped in making my decision to go with rythmik - thank you
Awesome to hear that! I'm using my F12 with Focal Chora 806 currently, it really is a great matchup! I really wish I could step up to the E15 or F15 but my front wall is narrow and it would dominate the look of the room :(
I cannot wait for your next review thank you very much for getting the sub that I was most interested about. I have dual RELT9i which is $1200. I have often wondered how these two subwoofers compare. In the end I went with the REL because Best Buy magnolia auditioned them for me and they kicked major butt! Rythmic’s website is very hard to use and there aren’t too many reviews so thank you very much!
Excellent as always. Maybe when you do your F12 review focus on that but definitely spend a minute comparing the L12 and L22 to the F12 for us Rythmik-interested musically-oriented tight-budget folks?
I will :D and if you ever have more questions than I cover in the video you can always ask a comment and I always respond and my email is listed in my about section so you can always send me an email and I will respond as quickly as possible :)
This review caught my eye and gave it a watch. I've looked at Rhythmic subs in the past and your review(s) now have me interested. I don't have space for any of the large subs and noticed on the Rhythmik web site that there is the FM8 sealed dual 8" driver sub. Any chance you could do a review on that one? Keep up the nice work - thanks.
The FM8 is a little too niche of an item for me to review. It will most likely extend down to 20hz like all Rythmik subs do and have incredible transients. I suggest anyone interested in an FM8 contact Rythmik to ensure they understand what they're buying but I think most people will be very happy chosing an F12SE instead.
That has more to do with room acoustics, my room does not appear to favor one design over the other so for me there is no difference but that is not the case for everyone.
probably not but I don't test subwoofers that high up and I don't think anybody should be runing their subwoofer with a xover that high. I feel like 80hz is even pushing it but if you're running a sub/sat system I can understand going as high as 80hz otherwise most people should crossing over closer to their speakers natural in room roll off.
This thing is a beast! Yes, don't move it! Look into the "McKenzie Push-Up." It may help. As can a cold pool or tub- cold, never heat which feels great at first, but markedly increases inflammation. Turmeric too might help. My HT/1205 arrives next week. Also, based on your review, I just ordered the KEF KC62. Best Buy offers 15 days to audition both in home so I figured why not. If neither work out, I will build my own. I can buy the F12 400 "affordable" kit from Rythmik for $799- Alum. driver. You can chose between several amps. They are all A/B power. I prefer class D. *Do you think the Rythmik kit will sound much better* vs. me just buying a new Dayton SPA250DSP Plate Amp (well reviewed + 5yr. warranty) and a quality 12" subwoofer? The latter would be much cheaper. *Can you recommend any quality 12" drivers.* I assume 12" is better, more versatile overall than a 10" mostly for music- though 10" might be faster/tighter? Thanks.
I believe you will not have servo control if you use a different plate amp so I would not recommend that. I have not heard a 10" that sounded any quicker than the F12SE. Why not just buy an F12-400? I don't think there is any way to DIY a kit that will sound any better. I do believe you can DIY a kit to be louder, but not sound better. As far as driver recommendations If I were doing a DIY 12" I'd use something like the Morel Ultimo 12 but that's not cheap by any means.
@@NemoPropaganda Thanks. I could swing the FS12 "affordable" $8xx.00 version. The reason I might build is to fit it under my entertainment system so it is out of the way. If you were married, you would understand. She already things I have way too many speakers, amps and elec. & acoustic guitars. I am of the opinion there is no such thing. I can care less about loud.
@@MOAB-UT How about the new REL HT1003? It is very small and I'm really enjoying that sub so far, I think it's the best comapct sub I've heard that's reasonably priced. It extends fairly low for a 10", is authoritve, has great transients, and blends well. Lastly being a REL sub that's commercially available you can return it pretty easily if its not a good fit.
@@NemoPropaganda Good call but the HT1205 is only $100 more. Is it not worth the delta? I heard it is- it can do everything the 1003 can do and more. Is this fair? Money is secondary to value for me. I bought the KEL KC62 after all but if I don't hear a massive difference between it and my new 1205, one is going back. On the other side of the spectrum, I was shocked to see the still decent Monoprice 12" for $99 and the slightly better Elac SUB1010 for $129- could make for great 2nd subs for music (not HT.)
Nice review, but I would mention about servo like - Servo is ALL about low distortion - controlling cone movement to match output signal from amplifier. Thats why they have distortion about 1 procent and lower. Its normal to have distortion about 10 procent on normal subwoofers. So all this leads to better deffinition of bass and better impulse response...
the same way the F12 stacks up against the L12. The E22 should have better bass fidelity and transient response among other things. It should be a clear upgrade and well worth the higher cost :)
You are comparing a smaller subwoofer to a much larger subwoofer, I made a video for that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kJ21aj9voMc.html
I was looking at the F12 on their site and it's not cheap once you add on the shipping/duty charge to get it here in Canada, it ends up being the same price I paid for my JL Dominion D110. Also the F12 is only 380watts vs 750. It's a shame they charge so much for us Canadians. I guess no Rythmik in my foreseeable future.
Yeah unfortunately free shipping is only in the USA :( The wattage is a bit of a moot point though since the servo helps boost efficiency in a sense so it will have much more SPL than a non servo 370w sub, how much more is anyone's guess though.
@@dicmccoy thanks, just wondering if it was higher than I remember. I think for the F12SE that's one hell of a deal for these speakers. Still think the F12SEs are comparable to other subs 3 times their prices.
I havn't heard the FVX12 yet but generally the L subwoofers were designed to be more budget oriented while the F subwoofers are more of a no-compromise design. With that said an F subwoofer will generally outperform an L subwoofer. With that said the FVX12 should outperform the L22 but since one is ported and one is sealed with double the surface area it's a bit of an unfair comparison but I would go for the FVX12 personally. Personally I feel the servo technology is better served with the stiff metal cones of the F and E subwoofers.
Couldn't figure out how to respond to the message. But yes, I loved the form factor and output of that sub for a sealed design. This year I am going to go multi-sub with another sealed sub. Rhythmik seams like such a unique player, and this review has me looking at L12's and F12's from them as well.
Hey Bro. If you ever want to sell your L12, let me know. I am in MN but I'd spend a few days in my ride with my 15 year old son this spring to go pick it up.....or pay to get it shipped. As an alternative to this L22, I am wondering if you have any interest in reviewing the Tekton 2-10? It is $630 delivered. It has two 10 inch drivers and a 300W RMS amp. Its a sealed design with a rating down to 20Hz. I know you don't care for Tekton's DIY aesthetics but they are known for tonality (in which I am a whore).
Hey Matt, the L12 was on loan from a friend and no longer in my possession, sorry :). Yeah the Tekton look isn't for me, I'd accept a review sample but I wouldn't spend my own money on it.
love your video, this sub makes no sense, much better 2x subs, stereo sub, than a double down mono sub. Maybe for cinema this is ok, for music terrible idea a double down mono sub rather than 2x subs.
@@exodusvelo don't worry, there are no buttons on my clothes as I'm wearing adidas golf shorts so I'm not scratching the sub :D fun fact in most videos I'm sitting on the REL 1205 lol, it's the perfect height!
Wasted time talking about what you don’t talk about. Reviews are getting so dumb and long winded these days. Disclaimer after disclaimer and double speak. FFS! Maybe the review begins over halfway through?
I didn't waste any time, I was answering a question the subscribers asked me from the previous video. We are a community. I didn't make this video for you personally, I made it for the community that follows my work. If you can't appreciate that I would say you are a little self centered and that's not cool man.
This is comment is off bass. (Ha!) IMO Nemo has the most concise but comprehensive HiFi reviews on the Internet. Can you name any other reviewer you trust who grinds out content as good as this as that’s more concise?
