Using REW and being able to measure what the bass frequencies are actually doing in your room was the biggest game changer for me. After that, MiniDSP allowed me to add my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sub, and using that with REW ensured I was getting the flattest frequency response. Extracting the last bit of performance was then being able to add my own house curve, and input BEQ. You'll get every last bit of potential from your investment. And I know it's a big investment!
Man thanks for the explanation of the PEQ. The way you explained it made things as clear as day. I've since made some config changes and have my subs sounding better than ever. Enjoy that beautiful setup my man.
Just wanted to point out that the Limiter switch is for attenuation overly high peak voltages. The Rumble filter is the one you were describing that has a steep roll off at the chosen frequency.
Its nice to see you grow....i hope people take your advice...i have been telling people for the last year seal sub is the way to go...i have dual 18inch subs just like that 1920 watts 4300 peak. Elected to go ipal woofers instead of high excursions ones....they go down to 7hz,but i tune mine to 10hz....PSA S3612....still afraid of them but the pop at low frequency the minute i hook them up to my denon x8500h...this is why im getting the avm90 to see if they still pop.i use pioneer sc55 the first time i bought them they work fine but have volume gain max....with denon its half that....anyway glad you are moving up very well..those subs are perfect for you...great video chow
Most home theater guys are chasing SPL and grunt, and there’s no better option than JTR for that (PSA wins the silver in that category). Others who have dual systems (music and movies) want the best sound quality and easy integration with their mains. For a music only system, REL is hard to beat (though they won’t go as loud or as low as many others). but Rythmik is right there in the sound quality category (Arendal is also a good option). For those who want BOTH slam and sound quality, the big Rythmiks offer both, and compared to many other manufacturers, the price is reasonable. For me, they hit the sweet spot, offering slam, SPL, refinement, easy integration and great sound quality.
100% agree with every word you said.. My Rhymik F-18 Subwoofer produces the most smoothest cleanest deepest bass I've ever heard in my room.. keep the updates coming.. great job as usual.. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Very nice review of a great Subwoofer! I just wanted to add that Salk Sound also uses the Rhythmic drivers and amps in their Subwoofers. I recently purchased two of Salk Sounds version of the G-25 and they were able to match the mahogany veneer and gloss finish of my Main speakers perfectly. They sound sublime. Thanks for taking the time to do such a wonderful review.
I think a video showing the difference in how it measures in the room depending on position would be interesting. I know my subs have a lot of variance depending on where I have them positioned.
Given it's an analogue amp it would be great if you can dive into all the settings when you can. I'm also curious how having two of the Dual 12" G22 would sound, but for some reason they don't come in a white gloss finish.
Very interesting and empressed with the way you are reviewing your subwoofer and I have to wonder how you can setup the 1 subwoofer to get the best results in your area and how it will perform and will you have to get a 2nd subwoofer to get a better theater sound?
I'd absolutely watch a video with you going into all about the subwoofer. Topics for a future video could also include results of different positioning Such as the drivers pointing to the sides of the room or pointing front to back. Also you could try having the drivers facing diagonality in the room, although I think that might cause cancelation. I wonder if the inside is 1 camber or 2 separate ones? Also, wow it's so big and beautiful.
@@Kpaceguy It's weird that works, You'd think they would interfere with each other. Google search Acoustic Research AR-9. I have the raw cabinets as surr. speaker stands and they have side firing subs on them in a singe chamber. They are the tallest speakers I own, too bad the drivers were all gone when I bought them.
Couple things I’d be interested in why you chose Rythmik as a company? Their customer service isn’t nearly as easy to get a hold of as SVS or Arendal. What other subs were you considering at this price point? Why not SVS SB 16 or Arendal 1723 Subwoofer 2V? Or spend a little more and get the JTR Captivator RS1 or Funk Audio 18.0E?
I just wanted something different. I really like the servo technology rythmik customer service is excellent. I would have liked to get the jtr but the build time was long and it was more than I wanted to spend same with funk audio I know those are end game subwoofers but for me I did not need a wood grain enclosure it’s cool but not worth the price funk charges. As for Svs the sb16s are good I have heard them but the rythmiks go deeper and have better tuning options. Arendal was a consideration definitely but I just keep coming back to rythmik. For me personally They are perfect. I’ve talked to Brian directly and he is amazing super knowledgeable person and he really stands behind what he sells. What subwoofers are you thinking of going with ?
SVS subs aren’t very musical. As I understand, if you want the best subs for music you get Rythmik, and if you want maximum bone crunching output for Home Theater, get JTR. I have two JTR RS2’s - more output then I’ll ever need. Considering selling one and buying two F18’s, then sticking the other RS2 in a nearby closet and rolling it out to supercharge bass when I’m feeling silly.
That's a big sub. I considered rythmik a few times but the "back order" status on the page always scared me off. Availability is an under-rated "ility".
I think I’m going to go dual E15HP2 SEs, which is basically equivalent to a G25HP, per Enrico at rythmik. I’m 90% music, I don’t listen to music that loud, and I don’t have the space for G25s. I won’t get the benefit of canceled vibration in the box with dual opposing woofers, but I get better smoothing through placement of two subs. It is cheaper to get a G25 than dual E15s though, even with the multi sub discount, which isn’t much at rythmik to be honest. I have to go duals, and getting dual G25s isn’t cheap.
Consider the e22 or g22 from Rythmic. I think you may like that more than e15 se. I’m debating the same but think I will get the REL 812 subs. Also, I only believe in stereo pairs
Gd day sir, I've been looking at your channel and you have the G25HP & I was wondering if you could provide me with more information, like how does it sound and feel on the intro for Edge of Tomorrow, please I need to know because I want to get 2 of them before the summer is over. Thanks again for your help,Kurt from Philly
More companies should make servosubs and just servo woofers in general. How do you go about subwoofer placement in the room with the drivers on both sides?
Hi Kpaceguy, I also own a smaller Rythmik L12 sealed sub with those adjustable facilities on amp back. Please help me a good adjustment position for all those knobs. I know sound preference varies from person to person. But I really having a hard time setting it. Already did sub-crawl to put in sweet spot with room correction through AVR. My priorities mostly 75% movies 25% music, normal living room (12x12). Just need your suggestion to tune it better. Thanks
Integration with anthem yes. Integration with my room no. It's easy with anthem because of the graphs and the enormous amounts of configuration. And anthem does a great job with normal Calibration in general
When you say that it sounds like nothing else, is that also in comparison to *ported* Rythmik subwoofers? I've seen reviews claiming that they're comparable to sealed subwoofers from other manufacturers.
When you're ready to upgrade, just buy a second G25HP. By the way, the tightness you're experiencing is a combination of several factors...the sealed enclosure, the dual opposed drivers and the servo control. All work together to make that sub tight without sacrificing power and impact.
So you say you might upgrade 1 or 2 more times. So if money was not an option, and you didnt have neighbors. What is your dream subwoofer set up? 2 duel 18 captivators perhaps? Curious what that dream setup looks like to you
Can’t say Rythmik is better than SVS as a company but this sub is better because it’s pushing two dual 15s with a beastly amp in a luxurious finish. I think you got a steal for the money. This sub may not be cheap but it’s loaded.
Bass speed when one first hears it separates the fundamental and harmonics. The massive Purdue bass drum to Saint Saens 3rd Organ Symphony astounds. I have the original very early pressing of Pink Floyd Dark Side and you can hear not only the heart pump but the actual separation of breathing which I have heard before only once and the room has to be huge to hear it as the frequency below 32 getting to less than 20 is 48' - 64'
@@Kpaceguy I appreciate the brutal honesty. I am looking for a high-quality sub, and this is at the top of my list, followed by the JTR RS1, Seaton F18, and Arendal 2s. I was wanting to give SVS another shot with the SB16, but I think that ship has sailed.
@@jglaserbot actually they are everything. That's the only way to make a sound decision on a product. There's a reason people go to all that work to get standardised way of comparing subwoofers
@@murambi2010 actually they are not, specs are a marketing tool to make a product appeal to a certain customer. I've sold and installed high end audio / video systems for over 20 years. I've never sold a single product based upon specs but by allowing our customers to demo products in their homes and providing knowledgeable consultants who could assist in setup.
@@Kpaceguy rythmik subs are great but funk subs have world class leading drivers. Lowest distortion drivers I have seen. It will outperform the rythmik in both sound quality and output. Rythmik are great subs for the price. Enjoy that beast.
Given the servo technology of Rythmik it should be able to match the Funk in sound quality but the 24" will go lower and provide more output. A closer match would be the 21" subwoofer from Funk.
@@Ctripp2448 Not certain what you are talking about as the Rythmik's have "leading-class" drivers so I call BS on your post. Funk is great and expensive but there is far LESS difference between Funk & Rythmik drivers.
@@n-da-bunka2650 never said rythmik drivers are not great. They are very good drivers as I stated. The funk drivers are better plain and simple. Lower distortion than rythmik drivers and more output. Funk are expensive but you are getting the best driver on the planet imo. Go check out data-bass and do your research before calling BS. Don’t take my word for it. Send Nathan a email and have a chat about the drivers. Again rythmik are great subs but funk is a step above.
I wonder how much of the difference has to do with your room's size. My room is a bit bigger and I still get massive room gain which you wouldn't get with a ported sub.
@@Kpaceguy it's so much better than the dual 3000's I had before, oddly enough. The 3000s slam but they didn't pressurized my room like the pb4000 does. I may go pb16 by the end of the year since the size is so close. Edit: I only have one listening position.
I live your excitement Kyle.it’s fun too watch. Great video. I myself have two Pb 4000s. I am looking to replace them soon. Their great just a little one notey, not very articulate. Do u agree?
If you ever did get a huge room just saying I can only imagine that you probably buying another one of those. One for the front and one for the back honestly for how credible it already seems like can you ever imagine another one of those. That's like four subs built in two enclosures I wonder if that's a cheap way of going about it too all things considered.
one question what would be cheaper buying 4 SVS 15s or buying a pair of those and getting 4 subs for the price of two. I mean of course the comparison between the two ain't nothing. One is sealed and one ain't But if you put everything together in pricing. What's the better deal in your opinion.
It is a myth that sealed subwoofers cannot dig deep and provide that deep authoritative bass. I switched to sealed in one room and they are very nice for music and movies. They should incorporate the SVS technology into that subwoofer lineup. With the minidsp 2X4HD, I do not use the app anymore. Nice video, but playing some demos would be better. Den of Thieves opening scene and Sade “Is it a Crime” would be good. I would have to hear it as my Dual SVS SB16’s & Dual SB-4000’s are crystal clear and provide that punch in the chest in movies and the smoothness in music.
What does it would not do any good unless you have a good subwoofer actually mean? Demo would provide more than specifications that you can research yourself. With a good pair of headphones / stream through your system, you can at least get a glimpse of what you say is occurring. I would hope others on here have a “decent” subwoofer. Give you followers some credit.
@@bkrhino1 playing demos would not do any good for you guys is what I mean. If I play a demo on a rythmik sub and you listen on your svs sub, what do you think that demo would sound like? Add in the poor audio quality of RU-vid plus my microphone and you have a very inaccurate idea of what I heard in my room.
@@pastaman6099 never heard them in person. Not very popular because they don't Market very much. I don't they quite make the power house subs like a rythmik g25hp or a goldenear sub or jtr
What does that thing weigh? The company website says 185 lbs. shipping weight, but what is the net weight? You shove that thing around on carpeting like it was a box of tissues.
The comments on this video just shows how over saturated the subwoofer market is with SVS products. They are good products of course but Rythmik is a very underrated company. "Does it have enough SPL?" WTF. It's dual opposed 15's, it has SHIT LOADS of SPL.
Have you ever tried using a y splitter to go into the left and right line in? The subwoofer will usually play louder and produce notes with more authority when you use that option.
