You know what ? This was the game of life for Ryu. He bet his whole life on this game. Look at his eyes. The world around him disappeared except Wang Hao and the ball. And he took hold of the victory. Now he enjoys life and became a world celebrity in sport. He is a real risk taker and winner.
2020 and I came here to say that this is the greatest table tennis match ever. So epic! Ryu Seung Min’s forehand annihilated the game and best footwork ever! 🙌🏻
@@km-lr7wj The meeting was right after the 2004 Olympics. At that time, I met weightlifter Jang Mi-ran and Ryu Seung-min at Incheon International Airport and Chinese runner Liu Xiang at Beijing International Airport. China's Liu Xiang was the 2004 gold medalist in the hurdles.
@@acerola9430 wow that must've been a surreal moment to see so many great athletes at once. I wasn't aware you saw them all haha, I thought it was only ryu seung min. Did you get to interact with them all/were they friendly?
I was so intrigued by this video that i proceeded to look up what Ryu was doing now As things turn out, not only is Ryu now a member of the IOC Committy, he was one of the mayors for the athletes’ village in the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. You can really tell that these moment changed his life forever, for the better. He’s probably a hero in his country.
I cannot help but just keep wow...during the whole time watching this video..this was not just both players prime but also prime of table tennis as a sports.
@@andrewhasbigbrain4496 Xu Xin is a much better rally player than RSM, but I don't think it can be denied that RSM has that incredibly dangerous close table attack and quick off the bounce counter loop. I think Ma Lin may be closer to RSM in that regard.
Ryu shattered the great wall of china in TT that day. He was highest og his energy that day. Do or Die.!!!! That celebration at the end from non Chinese is a rare thing in TT world.
In this video, Ryu Seung Min contacts the ball at around one arm's length from his body, to allow a full arm's swing on his forehand side. That is why there is so much power and speed in his forehand shots.
Wang Hao is too conservative in both his playing style and personality, this to some extent can explain why he is 3 times Olympics silver medalist but every time just one step away from a champion. He lacks the ambition and variability under high pressure. No doubt he has the best RPB skills, but still RPB will never be as consistent as shakehand even it's for Wang Hao, and you can see in this match when behind he tends to rely more on RPB. Although forehand is never a strong point for Wang Hao, but when playing with player like Ryu who has very strong and spinny forehand attach, RPB won't be reliable. And Ryu has better server than Wang Hao and he played very smart in this game to return the ball in big angles trying to move Wang Hao around and forced him to make fault
*Rio 2016 I'm going crazy with this fast game of oriental table tennis 2004, our best Brazilian tennis player would have no chance.* 5:20 🇰🇷CORÉIA DO SUL 👉🏿🥇
And he lost to different players each time. On top of that he has also lost in the finals of wttc 2 times and in the world cup 3 times. Although he also won the world cup 3 times and wttc once. He may have the most amount of silver medals in the major tournaments.
