Thanks for the upload mate, was nice just to get a comparison with someone else, idle temps are very similar, I have yet to test render temps, but I'm guessing they shouldn't be too far of what you got. Nice to see a fellow countryman pushing some content! 👏

Thanks for the video man, best one I came across to compare temps with what I'm seeing. Just needed to validate these high numbers as being "normal" for the CPU. Crazy that you're running the test on an AIO and the temps are similar to my air-to-air cooler. Guess she just likes to run hot!

Thx for video! How do you get your Processor to run so constantly over 4.5GHz?? Mine is just briefly boosting to such numbers and then drops down under 4 GHz again. So any tip is very appreciated how you did get your PC so constantly to these numbers!

My idle temps on a 5900X were running around 55-57 degrees C. I am using a Noctua NF-A9 with a NF-A9x14 as a 2nd pull fan on it. I had to custom bend the mounting clips to fit the 14mm thick fan. I might have been able to use a 25mm fan, but it would have had to sit a little high due to clearance issues. I have 2 front intake fans, 2 side fans, and one rear exhaust fan. My two side fans were intake when I was getting the 55-57 C. I switched both of those to exhaust and now get idle temps 37-40 degrees C. That little change made a hell of a lot of difference. I do not do heavy gaming, but have seen temps on my old mb/cpu setup go high when I streamed certain videos. I will watch them on this new mb/cpu combo to see how the do. I have good fan control on my new MSI MPG X570S CARBON MAX WIFI motherboard using Fan Control and custom fan curves. I am using 5 of the 6 fan headers, so I have one more I could use. My PC is in an enclosed compartment in an old desk, and I have 2 USB fans blowing air into that compartment. I am think of replacing the USB fan with a couple of regular 120mm case fans, and running an extension cable out the back of my PC to connect them up to fan header 6. That way I would probably have much better fans blowing air into my computer compartment.

I've been trying the same settings with a ryzen 9 5900x, except the negative curve is at 21. Seems to be stable, except my nzxt 280m aio fans and pump isn't running at 100%, they are around 80% speed and I get about the same temperature and cinebench r23 scores as yours. Seems pretty normal I guess for temperature. I also ran aida64 extreme for stability test for about 30 mins and no crashes or errors so far.
@TweakMDS
@TweakMDS 2 года назад
For the difference in CPU temps, check out CPU die vs CPU package. The package is normally a bit higher, but it might be worth checking out if your fan curve tooling supports selecting which one to use. MSI's does (in the Bios anyway). CPU die will change faster, but you can normally also adjust the pull-up or pull-down times. For me 0.2s up and 0.3s down is a good sweet spot, and makes the system a bit more quiet than the 0.1s pull-up which was the default. Great to see a comparison with my own system. I just finished building a 5900X in an MSI B550 Tomahawk and am using an Arctic Liquid Freezer 280mm II with push + pull (so 4 fans in total, and an additional 3 140mm exhaust fans). Initially I thought having 7 140mm fans in the system would be overkill, but they're actually doing an excellent job and I'm getting some lower noise in idle. The fan curve is something I can fiddle with forever. Right now I have it on 23% - 40 C, 35% - 55 C, 75% - 65 C, 100% 72 C. Case fans have a similar curve so it all behaves kind of consistent. One big difference I'm seeing is that the power usage on my system is a bunch higher. Your package power peaked at 138W and mine hit 167W. Not sure where that comes from though, I haven't gone too deep into the OC settings yet.

Im using a H100i AIO on my R9 5900x and it stands between 45-55 degrees on idle and 70 to 80 degrees on gaming load. Depending on the game for sure. Don’t know if it’s normal temps for this cpu but from what I see and read, it’s very good. They run hot and it’s true

This was insightful. I really liked being able to see at what speed the temps moved. I have 5950X myself and when it is running at full speed the cpu package power is around 210-215W or so according to hwinfo. My temps shoot really fast to 85 or so and then inches towards 90 and I was thinking that maybe my cooler is not set properly, but looking at this I think it is just because of the high power draw and my somewhat small air cooler.

my 5900x is limited on bios to 81c max, -20 negative pbo, +50mhz offset, 4x scalar, it can boost at 5GHZ stable. Using corsair H55 AIO with Industrial fan... reaplied 3 times... tested h45 AIO... same temps. Without limiting temp on bios it hits 90C in just a second, before saturation of cooling system. It happens in only one CCD... the other one stays 7C below. Im sure that a 240 or 360 AIO will have no effect. The thing burns inside before you have any possibility to receive this heat on the cooling system.
@sloppyprogrammer4373
@sloppyprogrammer4373 Год назад
Try configuring manual power limits for the motherboard / cpu power draw (PPT, TDC, EDC). Also a H55 is quite a bit worse than a 360 AIO, so it shooting up to 90 C in a matter of seconds is literally no surprise for me. I am on custom loop and only have 68 C on full load on a "cool" loop in a room temperature of around 20 C. A fully heat saturated loop is somewhere around 75-77 C. Pretty sure it will have a great effect to switch to a 360 AIO even a 240 might be enough (though I would rather recommend a 280 tbh), since I run a less than ideal custom loop with only one 420 for both my GPU and CPU (and my fans are BARELY spinning, just around 400-600 rpm on load, they're basically off when idle). Setting manual power draw limits drastically reduced temperatures.

AMD Ryzen Master is the only temp monitoring tool that I know of that provides the correct CPU temps for the Ryzen 5000 series. The 5900X and 5950X are notorious for running hot even when using AiO and custom watercooling. Running an NZXT Z53 with a 5900X (at stock speeds) and average low ~40C at idle and low ~70C under full load. Room ambient temperature is ~22-24C.

On my h150i pro xt cooler I get about 75 max on cinebench and 65 degrees in heavy games like red dead redemption 2 and 75-80 in games like rocket League. I was kind of surprised at first at how hot they run even on such an amazing 360mm cooler, but I know it's normal. Cant imagine using an air-cooler. It must be a nightmare. Combined with my 3080 my general TDP is about 500watts so my case fans are really working hard and the air that leaves is superheated. Hey at least it works as a heater in winter.

I got the kraken z73 with 3 noctua fans. I got the same number as you do. I assume it’s fine with this temp cuz even if I ramp up the fans and the pump at idle it doesn’t go any lower. I guess it’s just fine running hot. The performance is great. Coming from Corsair ML fans, I am perfectly fine with noctua fans running at full speed, it’s way way way quieter.
@KiDChAoS2k

@@franksun4017 I have a 5950x myself my issue is because of the high temps it’s running the fans at nearly full speed. I have the noctua industrial 3000 140mm fans. So they are making a lot of noise. @franksun4017
@franksun4017 2 года назад
@@KiDChAoS2k seriously, one thing I found out was there is actually some process running in the background called NVARL or something. It was Nvidia's thing and it was consuming like 6-7% of my 5900x at idle and my temps are constantly at 60+. I did some searching and it turns out ending that process is fine and my temps went back to 40+. tbh, I tried running the fans and pumps at highest speed at idle, temps don't drop at all. What I did was I just set a threshold at 70C, below that I run the fan and pump at 40% and above that is 100%(that's usually the temp when I game). I assume it's the way the IHS is applied to the chips for AM4 CPUs, since you can't delid it, there is not really that much you could do. But I guess it's fine that way cuz the temps don't really go crazy high under load either.
