Back by popular demand, another Sézane clothing review and preview. You guys showed so much interest in this format last week!
Sézane has once again delivered a stunning array of pieces that are sure to become wardrobe staples for us Parisian style lovers. There is so much to cover and I can't cover it all but do help you focus on what items I think are top priority.
Sézane's fall suiting and knitwear collections are top on my watch list this year. And, of course, the sold-out Yumi blouse. But, not to worry!

I got a size 36 and I’m feeling like it might be slightly too large for me. That’s my normal size so this definitely is meant to be an oversized trench however, I worry that if I size down, it would be too snug in the shoulders. Hopefully that helps. Let me know your thoughts.

@@nilasaid2631 oooof. In all honesty and I hate to say this. I think it really depends on what you’re looking for in a trench coat. I know you guys get kind of screwed over with the Canadian exchange rate. Are there other trenchcoats you’re looking at that are comparable price?

@@BriLamberson I’ve been enjoying the colour or darker colours on top with lighter bottoms. So with the fuchsia sweater, either a cream or a white pants. I find that this type of colour combo with lighter colours on the bottom really attractive.

I bought several polka dot items since spring, including Sezane’s ecru-on-olive green dotted silk skirt and shirt “set” (sold separately). I also got a long-searched-for white on navy dotted silk shirt from them in the spring. I love polka dots and all other classic patterns, except for big or tropical florals. One thing I love about Sezane, among many, is that they feature some beautiful printed/patterned silk items. The big silk brands just have solids for the most part, and overwhelmingly solid black, not my favorite. I wear silk a lot during at least three full seasons each year, just not in the hottest weather, as it is now.

Absolutely spot on! I’ve noticed that too, and wondered why they don’t offer more prints at larger brands. And I’m so glad that you were able to get the items that you wanted from Sézane.

I ordered the pinstripe suit yesterday thinking, like you, it would be wool, but the website says fabric composition is polyester and viscose, which sounds odd, so waiting to see what it’s like when it arrives. It definitely looks like a wool blend.

You’re so right. I was surprised. I recorded the video before the drop and had to edit so much out because my predictions were wrong. 😅 Really shocked to see the vinyl cropped jacket is not leather. I love stripes and polka dots ❤ I haven’t found a suit yet and I may sew one buy…I got a black with white pinstripes blazer that is Ralph Lauren second hand and I am so excited to style it. I kept noticing some white with black loafers that are so cool in several of the pictures you shared. That is something I would like. These videos are fun and informative. Looking forward to seeing your purchases and what you do with them. ❤❤❤

I feel like most fashions by Sezanne etc, are geared towards very tall and reed-like women!! Not 50 something curvy petites!!

I hear you! But interestingly, they are a very curvy petite friendly brand. Depending on what you’re looking for I believe their dresses and skirts are actually very flattering and petite friendly as well as their blazers, jackets, blouses, and knitwear. Admittedly, most of the trousers and jeans are cut for longer in seams. Have you tried the Damon trousers though? They are perfect for petite curvy, and would be well suited for anyone in their 50s.

I’m in my 50s and a US size 12 - I adore Sezane’s knitwear, shirts, blouses and mariniere tops 😍. Also the outerwear is gorgeous - I’m loving the look of the oversized parka in the new collection, I just love an oversized coat or jacket!

They go up to size 16/xxl. Most brands cater to average or shorter women, leaving little options for tall women. Tall women dont have the option to tailor clothing, a shorter person can. If anything this brand can accommodate a lot of women in different sizes.

I just got a beautiful beige wool trouser suit from Theory, but unfortunately, it’s at least one size too large and has to go back. I used my recent measurements and their size chart, but their sizing is extremely generous! I’m so disappointed, the items are now sold out in the smaller sizes. I might have to wait for spring to try again, I want white or beige, or light blue or green. I like Theory much better than Ralph Lauren, which uses polyester linings, I can’t stand that. I love theory so much! Bummed that your suit was sold out. You might try looking for a stock refresh in a few days or weeks. Also love looking secondhand online or maybe other stockists who carry theory.

@@BriLamberson I'm holding off for a bit on pants just to see what comes out. I know the grey are lined, which would solve the itch issue...but that would make them all the more thick. I have the Dan in black and don't find them itchy, but they are a different fit. I am going to Paris in October with my mom so I'm going to try EVERYTHING on when I'm there. I love the free shipping and returns but sometimes I am just not up for a lot of trial and error. I"m really hoping they come out with the Gary in Navy. That's on my list.

Very well said. I’ve been wanting to try the Dan trousers but the “mid rise” has been throwing me off. So jealous for your next trip! How fun. Try on everything for us. I have the Gary pull in navy and have worn the crap out of it.

@@BriLamberson Gosh I didn't realized the Dan were described as mid rise. I find them to be quite high. They are a "comfortable high" if that makes sense. Sometimes I find really high waisted pants difficult to sit in for long periods of time without unbuttoning the top. Ha ha. I also have the Dan in the very dark denim, which are a bit more snug than the black version.

@@jennifermelville-author that’s great to know! I was hesitant to get them because I thought they might be too mid rise but now I’m more interested. The Martin trousers are definitely a high-rise but very comfortable.

I bought the Gary cardigan you presented, new (old) Pierro shirt and Paula babies in black to join my already large collection (and yes I also already have those in black and white :)). All in all - contrary to big enthusiasm of others, I am not a big fan of this collection so far. Burgundy color doesn’t fit me, I don’t like patchwork patterns (and I don’t look good in this neither), white coats for winter are pretty but extremely not practical (although would be nice to brighten streets of Paris at this time a little, with everyone wearing black or grey). And cherry on the top - this gipiura lace blouse everyone got crazy about (and it sold out momentarily) - it is not very comfy in the colder time (scratchy but also transparent and giving zero cold protection, silk would work much better instead). Plus it is very short, without any neckline - unfortunately it seems like it would good mostly on models in enhanced photos (with filters) as Sezane is presenting. But I guess those are mostly my personal preferences 😃.

I super appreciate your insights. What are some colors what do work well for you? I’m partial to black, navy, and grey. Love some of their greens too. What did you think about the new coats that I mentioned?

@@BriLamberson regarding coats, I only like Sacha coat - classic, flattering all silhouettes, although it really annoys me that Sezane is not showing how the coat would look like if buttoned - as often, their pictures are not that practical. I suspect it might look not as nice, and in reality that’s how we wear it mostly… For the colors - that depends - I like white, cream, most of blue and navy shades, most of grey shades and only some of red, pink, cream, brown and green. After years of hit and miss, I am finally able to say without trying what color will fit me and what won’t. Same for patterns. It came with years of experience and it works for 90% of time 😃.

To loose my extra 20 pounds I'm carrying. I'm menopausal so it's pretty excruciating. I'm making good headway though and once I'm there I'm going to treat myself to a pair of the wide leg trousers. 🐛🦋

@@BriLamberson I'll keep the skirt but I'm going to return the top. The sleeves are a tad too short for me, plus it has a small hole above one of the front pockets, like the fabric's been ripped 😑
