Dodoria was a good enough release but he had a few problems which could have easily been correct. Will his more slender counterpart be able to improve upon those issues or will he fall victim to the same pitfalls?

Zarbon Zarbon Zarbon. And paint. I feel like the price point most places were asking, he would be a liiiiittle more premium? But honestly, he's been my favorite for like 20 years now, I'm just happy to have a good figure. I also love the dragon balls that are coming with these.

While it’s pretty indisputable detail paint makes a figure look much better, I think moulded plastic isn’t totally without benefit to the consumer - it’s nice to feel like you can push the posing in photography without worrying about chipping. That said, for god’s sake make it matte so it doesn’t look like a Dragon Stars figure with better engineering. There are worrying trends being set with this line. I’m still in at the moment, but I’ve got a foot out the door, or the cart, or the

Zarbon, always. 100% haha I never liked Dodoria, but did enjoy the rivalry the two of them had with one another. Zarbon looks like the kind of guy you'd expect to be a truly neutral guy. always looking out for number one: himself

Definitely Zarbon and paint here too. Anthony you should check out the ML Shocker from the recent wave. I picked it up the other day and it's pretty basic but finally feels like they actually made it work. The bar is on the floor for Hasbro, but they did clear it.

Paint or shading definitely (if they are worried about paint rub). I really apppreciate your reviews, it seems like you're the only one pointing that neck joint (or any flaw/solution to make the sculpt and articulation better). As much as I enjoy Figma, they have the same issue with the head/neck joints.

I quit this line after Nappa and sold them all off. Disappointment was bigger with each new release. I didn't feel they were worth the money.

That's really sad that he can't move around that well, I really like this character design. I'll think about getting him. Also because I imagine we'll need to get his transformed as a separate figure, so it's him twice but I wouldn't expect an improvement in the articulation for his bigger self... Good review!

Dodoria, because of his color/spikes/body shape, always reminded me of a dogs chew toy a bit XD. My most anticepated figure has to be second form Frieza. I hope he ll be on par, size wise, with Cooler. Great review as usual!

Zarbon did most of his fighting in his transformed state. I saw the transformed Zarbon on a survey SHF did. I am hoping they make everything on their list.

also, no paint is 100% fine. it would have been nice to see some shading, but only that. the armor being solid white it fine too. he's a prince; adding shading would look like dirt- something that he wouldn't tolerate XD

I prefer paint specially for the prices we are paying for these figures just seems like the quality is declining but prices keep increasing I guess that happens when you have no real competition

majority of the time Zarbon was taller than Dodoria while I like the figure made him to fat/wide in the face (and in general) and to tall. I prefer Zarbon and don't mind the lack of shading but they should at least do some panel lining on the armour. I also wish they would have the shoulder pads were longer and would slide under the chest piece that way when you lift them there's no horrible gap they could easily do it too.

That idea with the shoulder pads is pretty good, hopefully they do something new with these figures sometime in the future cause the shoulder pads have always looked ugly, the only ones that worked pretty good were the shoulder pads on the armoured Broly figure

@@jorgerincon6874 yeah they really need to do something new with the shoulders unfortunately most of the character's with saiyan armour that you'd expect them to do have been done, it would have been nice if they'd have kept trying with each one the only ones that really got any changes were Raditz and Jeice then after that they just went back to the original type which kinda blows, hell even if they made them out of a soft plastic so they bend would have been decent.

Molded parts are great as long as they have some kind of finish. matte, satin, gloss, etc. and some kind of shading/wash. How hard is a matte finish??? Gosh

All I ask is for them to add shading/washes and top coating, otherwise, they look plastic-ish and cheap.

I'll def like more paint(not overboard though like some of the older figures were), and for the cape I think they should use real material, it'll flow/feel/look more natural. If my old 20+ year old cheap batman figures used real material for the cape, these figures can as well.

I kinda like Dodoria. Hope the Monster form Zarbon pipedream comes true though. No paint is only cool on transforming figures.

Paint all the way. Awakening warrior Goku has some great paint apps especially compared to newer figures. They don’t even put the wash in the ears to make the details pop anymore.

Definitely Zarbon. Ever since I was a kid in the early 2000s I thought he was cool looking. I also like him more character-wise meanwhile Dodoria's just poor mans Nappa in comparison. Also I've been thinking about selling my Dodoria, his fat *ss takes up too much shelf space and I only got that guy because of my nostalgia for the Namek saga.

This is why I just stick with Dragon Stars, bc the QC is a bit more consistent compared to Figuarts. Not to mention, they're also a lot easier to obtain bc of the $20 price tag and I never have to worry about annoying things like the faces popping off for example. As for the questions of the day: I also prefer Zarbon and I'll always value paint over molded plastic Also, congrats on becoming a dad and keep up the great reviews! One last question: when will we see your review of the JAKKS Pacific Rouge?

Zarbon over Dodoria for me because his Transformation from Beauty to Beast was cool and the fact that he actually bested Vegeta in their first fight also. Paint over no paint also for sure.

I have been waiting for a Zarbon for a long time. It's not perfect, but it will look good standing to Freeza's left hand. In most cases, when it comes to lack of paint, I don't mind with anime characters. When it's the same color on the same color, it really stands out. When sculpt details are separated by a color, it does not stand out as much. With Zarbon's chest armor, it's white on white . That washes out the details. If it had a light blue air brushing or line detail, it would not be as noticeable. When it comes to the butt checks, they could have gone with a thong in the back . The butt cheeks could be on the top of the leg. S. H. F. Did that with Rainbow Mika, and it looks great in any pose.

Hey Anthony don't you think these figures would look and function way better with the shoulder pads and cape being soft plastic like the McFarlane figures? Cause I really hate the shoulder pads on all the Saiyan armour figures, they basically look good in a neutral position but as soon as you articulate them, they look really ugly

I'm not paying top dollar for a figure to have 0 shading, and a plastic cheap look to em. Pass on this one. If they release a painted version I'll pick him up.

I'm probably more plastic than paint. I don't want my figures scratching and outside of a company like NECA, the value just rarely seems there. As long as the sculpt is there with enough detail and it's not just a bunch of bland blobs, plastic will do. I think I'd rather have a finely detailed figure in plain plastic than a chunky sausage person covered in paint. Lipstick on a pig.
