OK, so where do I begin, this song is one of those songs that I've always wanted to do and have never got round to doing it. This is also the first song that I've done of 2021 and I know it's not the happiest of songs but it's one of the songs where I get to sing for me. This entire pandemic has changed who I am as a person (and I'm still deciding whether it's for the better or worse).
I know that I can't keep hoping that this virus is going to go and everything is going to go back to normal -the way that it was, because in all honesty I think we're past the point of things ever returning to the way that they were. Remember when we all first heard the term "The new normal" and assumed it would be about face masks and hand sanitising, but the truth is "the new normal" defines a lot more than heightened sanitary measures, I think the way we are feeling is becoming the new normal and that something we are all going to have to learn to grow with, but sometimes I do wake up and miss the person that used to be me.
Keeping positive is such an important factor in the way things are going, but being honest it's just as important.
