@@jimlapbapone trick I learnt on another short is that they *do* work if you also include text that RU-vid can try to translate (once you hit translate, the links are clickable)
tis kinda a betrayal of the genre, ships were largely men at work, the response to the call was barely sung by baritones and tenors. it was a workmens choir
@@EMAhubris Are you really complaining about not keeping to the traditions of an outdated to the point of non-existence form of travel for a parody of a song from a cartoon show?
@@1217BC also the shanties meant for rowing are for small craft that only needed 1 or 2 rowers. the majority of shanties were for synchronising movements while handling the ropes on board, hauled by hand or with the human powered winches
This is now my most viewed video on RU-vid, thanks everyone! Here’s some FAQs: 1. The full version is available on major online platforms (RU-vid Music, Apple, Amazon, Spotify, Tidal, Pandora, etc,), if you search for jimlapbap, it should be there 2. The running gag of these “shanties” is I have to break the rules of the shanty to make the song more recognizable, so I know it’s not a real shanty, hence “shanty” is in scare quotes 3. I have about 50 short “shanty” covers out there, and also a full album called Millennial Shanties and Madrigals 4. Dan Povenmire has seen this (but hasn’t made any kind of reaction/duet video) 5. I have quite a few covers of the Phineas and Ferb theme out there: ragtime/vaudeville, dark fantasy, creepy, hold music jazz, a very poor attempt at death/black metal, and classical piano concerto 6. If there’s another song from Phineas and Ferb you’d like me to cover, let me know [edited to address many of the comments]
So cool thing about sea shanties is that they all follow a similar rhythm, and that cause they were normally sung to keep beat while doing difficult and repetitive tasks like raising the anchor or hoisting the sails
The RU-vid algorithm seems to think I want more content related to squirrels since I watched and commented on a short about tactical squirrels this morning 😂
@@jimlapbap Facebook reels steals a lot of their short form videos from other platforms. The amount times I will open the comment section on a reel and it will tell me I can comment as my instagram or twitter handle is unbelievable.
Dan povenmire calling candice a simp is hilarious! I never got that until i became an adult. The best joke of the whole show. Can't wait for season 5 tbh
While we are here I seriously love this format of song. Even musically - like in the game Spirit Tracks (zelda series) it has songs you play. Instead of being a simple first two bars, you play one bar back and forth with another musician and they play off of the repeated riff that you play. It sounds beautiful and is hella fun
