The Brits drew the borders and never engaged the Chinese to agree where it was. Then when Jawaharlal Nehru became PM he decided to produce maps based on the British POV, but the Chinese disputed this as beig the border and it has been an issue ever since.

It's just the influence of the Tibetan monastery in Tawang which is the spiritual center apart from Lhasa. Going back in history does not shape modern borders. Agree quitely. Defence forces of a country are the basic establishment that keeps warfare active and maintain central security. Both go hand in hand. But unfortunately this does not apply in case of India, whereas in China and Pakistan it does. Indian civilian establishment is wary of Defence forces and keep security and intelligence agencies in their own hands. Defence forces have never felt so helpless, hopeless and lost cohesion. Under the overlordship of Mongolia Empire, like everyone else. So it was not independent during the period. Worth to mention Yuan Empire (its like Mongolia International corp China localized sub-company) did build an administrative system in Tibet. First time Tibet got controlled by Beijing. 1368-1600: A vassal of Chinese Empire(Ming dynasty). Ming claim the overlordship and take tribes from Tibet each three years. Do you call it "independent" or not? Vietnam and Korea was in the same status. 1600-1720: Ming was gone and Qing had not yet c0me. Independent, yes. 1720-1912: Tibetans was like "Yeah finally Ming got screwed no more tribute and we can do whatever we want....wait....what is that....omg is that an army?" Qing conquered Tibet and established an administrative rule. A lot of local Tibetan lords got replaced by officials assigned by Beijing 1912-1950: Qing got screwed and the new Republic of China is not strong enough to control Tibet. Tibet was independent. (But still Kham was ruled by Republic of China). 1950-now: Tibetans was like "Yeah finally Qing got screwed no more Beijing-assigned officals and we can do whatever we want....wait....what is that....omg is that an army?" There was no talk of south Tibet then. In fact it is believed that there was a proposal for swap of west (Aksai Chin) for east (Arunachal Pradesh). In later negotiations there was a clear understanding that there will be no disturbance of "settled areas". Then where is the justification for renaming etc etc. They have been constantly shifting the goal posts. The purpose of your making this video is unclear since you do not suggest what India should do now, or should have done in 2020 or 1959. Are you suggesting that Nehru should have agreed to their 1959 claim line? Videos such as these are totally unhelpful as you only raise issues without providing solutions. I get it. China has laid its legal background to seize Arunchal Pradesh. Undemarcated Arunchal Pradesh is no differently placed to Ladakh which China has muscled into and refuses to budge. In the wrestling matches on the AP border, the Chinese have been beaten back. If in the future, they cannot be beaten back, India has the choice to escalate to a hot war or concede AP to China. We will have to watch and wait to see if Jaishankers brave words translate to action by Modi. We have seen with the longstanding Chinese claim to Tawain for all the legal clearing of the deck, China is no closer to seizing it. China as indeed any country can find reasons to justify war. Tibet doesn't belong to China and it's a separate country on its own. 1)India must take the first step to show Tibet as a separate country in maps, 2)recognise Tibet as a separate country 3) conduct referendum elections for Tibetians (both exiled Tibetians in India & abroad) OR 4) India must ask Tibet if it wants to become part of India or Indian independent autonomous region.
