If you do any baking at all you have probably seen the new trend that's going around... Fault Line Cakes! I wanted to do a mix of that technique with the old geode one! And because it is finally summer, I had to do my favorite summer treat.... S'MORES!!!
For this cake, I baked four, 8" chocolate cake layers. I had toasted mini marshmallows and also made a toasted graham cracker crumble.
Within each layer there was marshmallow buttercream, toasted marshmallows, the graham cracker crumble, and a chocolate ganache drizzle.
I carved out a little cake where I wanted to put the 1/2-sized s'mores so they would not stick out too much. I then added a very THICK layer of the marshmallow buttercream to make it look like the s'mores were inside of the cake.
To finish decorating the cake, I covered the bottom and the "fault line" with the graham cracker crumble. I also added a chocolate ganache drip, more graham cracker crumble and toasted marshmallows on top and then some full-sized s'mores to finish it off!
I hope you try it out and enjoy it as much as I did! It not only looked delicious but it tasted AMAZING!!!
Thank you for watching! :)
