It's evident that Smith & Wesson has gone the extra mile with the Pro Series, maintaining the perfect balance between stock and competition specifications.

I’ve had this gun for 2 years and 3000+ problem free rounds and it’s fantastic. Switched hinge trigger to Apex and it’s perfect.

I just picked one of these up, mounted a Holosun 508t on it and a Streamlight TLR 9. Sights were dead on at 15 yards, and recoil with 124gr Fiocchi was like shooting a 22. When I stepped it up to 135gr +P Hornady Critical Duty, then it started feeling like a 9mm. Both were extremely pleasant to shoot, and all the loads stayed well within the "Donut" of the Holosun as fast as I could control and recover sight picture. This gun is a cheat code in a box, period.

I know you’re not a huge fan of the aftermarket stuff, but getting this gun and putting an apex trigger in it makes it rival guns double and triple the price.

I've had a 4.5 in.(edit: correction from 5 to 4.5 in) M&P Shield for several years. It is my primary home defense pistol. Also 100% reliable and accurate. Which led me to a recent Shield Plus purchase and has become my CCW. So far no malfunctions or ftf's. Love the channel & look forward to your new videos.

S&W came out with that gun in 2015. I have one in 40s&w I bought right when the came out. It has been excellent over the years. I also bought conversion barrels in 9mm and 357sig, boy do I have fun with that gun. Thanks for the video, not a lot of them out there!

I have the gen 1 m&p9c and have never had any issues whatsoever. I’m also an NRA instructor and have shot thousands of rounds through it. It takes 10,12 & 17 round mags from the full size 9 also. You can even do a barrel and magazine swap with the 40 cal and it functions flawlessly. Smith & Wesson definitely brought their A Game when they produced this Glock eating M&P series!!

Thank you for the review. I purchased the M&P Performance 2.0 in 40 S&W. I replaced the factory trigger with an Apex Flat trigger. To me it feels great and makes shooting it much more enjoyable. This will be my USPSA competition pistol.

Enjoying my 2.0 performance center. It's my go to gun. Only thing I've done to it is out a mag well on it and a optic. Can conceal it and run it at the range. Great video!!

I open carry my 10mm version of this gun, and couldn't be happier. Mine came with the better trigger, and it's 15+1.

Watching your videos has really inspired me over the last year-and-a-half to do long-range pistol shooting. I'm nowhere near your level, but I'm getting pretty decent at it. And just recently, with the help of a friend using a spotting scope to guide me, I even pulled off a 200 yd shot using my Kimber custom LW 1911.

I have the 4.25" version of this same Performance Center pistol with an RM06. I love it. After plenty of shooting (800-1000 rounds) the trigger is a crisp 4.25lbs. It has been very reliable with zero malfunctions so far (except for 1 round that wouldn't go off no matter what I did to it). This pistol's grouping capability has been impressive to say the least. Of my striker-fired polymer pistols, this is 1 of my best three, the other two being a 2023 manufactured Arsenal Firearms Strike One SPEED and a Shadow Systems DR920P. I don't know why, but I didn't expect much when I bought this PC pistol, but I was WRONG.

I've owned this gun for a while and put around 800 rounds through it without failures or issues. It's by far my favorite pistol i own. Still looking for a holster for it to carry but it shoots amazing.

A lot of big time shooters switching to M&P. I have the shield plus PC and the 10MM PC and both have great triggers - the flat face ones. I switched from p365, glock 48 and hellcat to the Shield Plus due to how well it shoots. I'm excited to likely move from Glock to S&W for the compact as well.

I carry the S&W PC ported 9mm shield and have for years and I love it, just recently bought a 2.0. Thanks for the great content and your absolute honesty.

I like how Mrs. Outlaw asked about the arm sleeve thing right when I was thinking about it. Good timing! Also, I've had my M&P PC ported for a minute now and it's the only gun I've ever owned that will lock back on a loaded mag as if it were empty. I call it part of it's personality.

The M&P is one of the most slept on polymer guns. I also think S&W left so much potential on the table for that gun and have yet to put it all together. Example the make a "Competition" gun that is metal that is only 2 oz heavier then the polymer version. Another thought - What are your splits with this gun? Curious since you mention the OG trigger.

Love my M&P 5” PC ported too. Upgraded the trigger to the Overwatch Precision & running the Calculated Kinetics DogTag optic plate, helps redirect the gases away from the window on the SRO which is right above the LCI.

I’ve been carrying the M&P 2.0 4” for awhile now. Going back and forth with the Shield Plus for a few years. Earlier this year made the switch to carry the bigger 2.0 over my Shield. With my holster with wings and wedges it conceals under a tshirt 95%. If you know you might notice, but it could just be my belt buckle. It’s a little heavier and longer then the Plus but I can grip and shoot it faster, more accurately and reliably. Both great guns. The performance center version for both are always great upgrades. But my 2.0 was a gift from my Dad, so it’ll do the job just fine. No issues with it or the Shield after years, rounds, and sweat. Have fun, be safe, act smart.

This is my go to gun for a lot. For USPSA I use the full size frame with 140mm mags and I got a non ported 5”barrel from KMC. Now for the cool part, I run 2.0 compact frame with the PC 5” slide and barrel in IDPA. The 2.0 Compact/5” barrel setup is what I carry.

Phenomenal firearm. I carry the pro series version of this gun for work. Basically the exact same gun just without the ported slide/barrel. It’s almost comically soft shooting and accurate. Makes for a perfect duty gun.

I've had one of these for several years in the 4.xx length. Have used it for a duty weapon the entire time. Absolutely love it. Looking forward to testing out the metal 2.0. Keep up the great content

Always so happy when an Honest Outlaw vid pops up in my feed! Quick thought on M&P's. I have a big mix of different ones of all sizes. And i have to say that i know the newer triggers are better, but i have always thought even the hinged triggers (on the 2.0's, the 1.0's not so much) are actually really decent.

People should definitely keep an eye on M&P 2.0’s on gunbroker with the older style hinged triggers. I got a M&P 2.0 Compact Optics Ready brand new for $350 because it had the hinged trigger lol straight up steal!! 😂

The m&p 2.0 full size optics ready 5” is this gun minus the porting but with the new trigger. Got one a few months ago during their rebate sale for $500 and I absolutely love it. Haven’t shot much else since I got it tbh

I have the MP 2.0 PC with a 4.25" non ported barrel. I love mine. I need to get mine milled for an optic, and I'm gonna have the trigger done while its getting milled. Thinking about having it done by Agency arms, or maybe Primary Machine, PM did my VP9, and they did a great job.

Chris I think you have mastered their old hinged trigger. I also think you should be on their development team for the M&P 3.0 pistols… JMO

I have this gun in .40 absolutely love it. Been 100% reliable my everyday concealed carry. Recoil is nothing with porting and weight.

I own two of these pistols in 4.25 I went ahead and added a Floyd’s custom extended magwell and there mag plates they are a awesome company to deal with. I added the scs mp2 sight from holosun as it just screws down and no plates are required as a shim . I went one step further and sent my pistol off to timmney and the installed the alpha trigger in for me . I do not want to do anything to my gun as I can afford to just play . I would recommend this to anyone it’s a awesome gun. The only negative I can say is I have had a few rounds not cycle . I used the Remington white box 115 grain ammo and that is the only ammo I had a issue with shooting. I feel like maybe If I went to a 124 grain I would not have had the issue I couldn’t tell ya . But I have one that I shoot at my range as a race gun you may call it then one I throw in my bag that’s just my everyday carry . And the stippling is awesome best of luck to all

Really expected a P01. But a sub 900$, high quality firearm, I will defer to your experience. Thanks again for your great work. I have a Jericho and a px4 Storm, really appreciate the comment about heavier rounds. Both prefer 124 and 147 grain.

Great video. Recently picked up the non-performance version of this gun, and experienced all the whoopsies you just did. A couple of top hats, occasional malfunctions - shooting 115 grain - and the slide not locking back on empty. Put about 500 rounds through it, cleaned it, lubed it, and it all went away. One thing I'd like to see in your thousand round review... try some tactical reloads. The one mod I've done to mine was to install an extended mag release. On the 2.0 the stock mag release button was too flush with the body to do reloads without completely losing my grip. I wonder if Smith has addressed that issue.

I have an old 5" M&P 2.0 that i love, but i've relegated it to home defense, and to get into competition, i went with a Canik Rival EDIT: I called S&W and, as for you statemen tthat "you can get those" (referring to the non-hinged trigger). You cannot. They won't sell them.

I love mine it shoots well, reloads easy without some fancy magwell, and the only thing I've done is removed the detent and spring from the slide catch lever so it could auto forward on reload.

I like mine, it has a lot of great features for the price. A few annoyances other than the trigger for me was the plastic optic plates and the extractor roll pin not being flush with the optic cut. If you're not paying attention that pin might be sticking out and prevent your plate from mounting flush. Apparently in older models the roll pin was the same length as the non optics ready version but it seems like mine was the correct length and all I needed to do was tap it down into the slide.

Have a gen1. No slide ports...4.5 frame with a 5" threaded barrel. It came with a 4.5 barrel too My favorite for many years.

Porting is what that pistol needed. I thought you got good speed out of it. Of course I have no after market triggers on any of my pistols so I know NOTHING! Enjoy your channel, my go to for all first look videos.👍💪🇺🇸

Looking for my next gun- something like this- something for home defense / range. All my glocks get slide work, optic cuts and stipples. Would love something ready to go out of the box

I recently got the 10mm m&p. A little very careful polishing helped the gritty trigger (the reset is still weak of course). It has been 100% reliable even with reloads. The ambi slide release is useless. It actually bends from thumb pressure before barely working. The sights came from the factory a bit off center in each dovetail too. Oh, and this is the first pistol I’ve had that the whole slide actually shifts to the left a tiny bit when the striker drops during dry fire. While it’s a decent gun, I’m not too impressed with the quality control. No big deal for me because I like to tinker and I’m pretty good at it, but I can see where it could be a problem for some.

Id love to see a side by side between this and the Canik TP9 SFx.

My duty is the full size Metal 2.0. Closing around 5k rounds no issue

I've looked at these a number of times, and I almost always found someone reporting issues with them. One of the common issues stated was accuracy, with these struggling to print decent groups at 25yds from a bench. Still incredibly tempting.

I will have to try out a Performance Center S&W one of these days. I absolutely love my full size Walther PDP!!

I have the same pc , I put the apex flat metal trigger in mine with 2.75lbs pull and very short reset, it really made this gun

Just bought the 10mm performance center version of this platform with the ported barrel and slide, would appreciate a review of it

I'd love to see a chronograph test with the regular full-size M&P and this gun, just to see if the muzzle velocity loss from the porting is made up for by the longer barrel on the Pro model.

I have 3 M&P 9’s and have never shot the stock trigger. I bought a: 1.0 9L used with and Apex 2.0 5” Tan replaced the trigger w/ Apex before I even took it home 1.0 Shield Customized as my Gunsmith’s personal carry w/ Apex Really wish I had gotten the 3.6” compact before they discontinued it for civilians. I like the way they shoot.

I’ve got the 4.25 PC version with different optic, 2000+ through it with zero malfunctions. Definitely think the SRO was a factor to the one in the video. You can see the ejected cases going right off the front of the optic.

Another win for m&p. Them boys at mr guns are a good bunch. My only gripe is that they don't sell reloading stuff 🤷🏼‍♂️😂 M&P it's hard to go wrong since they got away from the m1.0 and the new trigger shoe on their PC guns is amazeballs.

I have my Shield Plus performance center on the way to Floyd’s for the RMR slide cut. You’re the only one I’d listen to on RU-vid seriously. I’ve always been an sig or glock guy but you’re a great salesman! lol

21:40 I have the same PC 5 inch with a Holosun dot and Streamlight TLR 8 as my home defense and IDPA gun BUT with an Apex flat trigger. The trigger upgrade made a huge difference. It literally has never malfunctioned after 2 years. It’s an awesome gun. Upgrade the trigger and you can’t beat it.

1 mag through this and the spring on the handle malfunctioned and rendered the gun useless. Got the extra warranty on it as the salesman warned me of the malfunction. I thought he was just trying to sell me some bs but my fiance convinced me to take the warranty and glad I did. Got the gun back from the manufacturer no problems so far.

I'm an M&P guy, have the 1st gen 4.25, 2.0c and the 5" with the Floyds custom Kraken commander port and its a cheat code. Love the platform and how everything is interchangeable. Just wished they put the performance center trigger on the metal competition one with the Apex trigger shoe. Regardless, very solid platform and best bang for your buck.

I have the ported 4.25 version. Replaced the stock trigger with an apex trigger. It my current carry gun. Only real complaint is the aggressive texture does like to eat shirts.

I just picked up a nice used M2.0 Core Pro series, and I am having an intermittent non-slide lock back issue as well. Kinda weird but gun still runs and have ran light powered 1085 fps 115grain ammo with no extraction failures, just the slide issue

How do you shoot so cleanly? You are spot on with almost every shot. I would love to have your accuracy!!!

I’ve had this model for over a year and no issues. I go back and forth between this and my Competitor as to which I’m more accurate with. If your ever in the West Des Moines area we need to meet for some indoor range time.

It would be really cool to see this compared the Canik METE of similar spec. The Canik is such a good value and has a phenomenal trigger

I have stock hinge trigger on my 2.0 compact and I love it. Just gotta get use to it.

This is my EDC in the winter with a Leopold DP . Couldn’t be happier with it

I have the 1.0 version of that same gun with a vortex venom red dot on it and it has an occasional hiccup too but I still love the gun!

I have an Apex in mine. This pistol with an Apex is a tame changer. Punches way above it's weight.

I have an M&P 2.0 Shield for EDC and a PC for home defense as well. Except mine are in 40S&W. I didn't get a 5" barrel for 2 reasons. 1. One wasnt available in 40S&W at ghe time 2. I saw some research the showed 40S&W actually loses velocity out if a 5" barrel. My Shield is a PC with a 4" barrel and my full size is a C.O.R.E. PC with a 4 1/4" barrel and has a WMO and WML as well. Love my S&W firearms!!!!! They run great and shoot any ammo I put in them. I've had one FTF with my Shield in 700 rounds. It was when I forst got it, so I am not sure if it was due to technique. It was also on a timed qual, so i quickly T,R,B and kept going. Scored a passing grade even without that round. I haven't had any issues with my full size, but I only have 300 rounds through it.

Great review Chris. I have the 2021 PC 5" with the same trigger. I actually am dead on with that style even though i was hoping for a flat style like my Plus. Its accurate as a laser, so i never changed it. Cant wait for the 1k review on this

Love the new trigger on my ported 4” ported performance center shield plus. So much better than the duty carry kit from apex on my gen 1 shield. Why I jumped on the full size shadow systems simply to use stockpiled magazines rather than full size m&ps that I don’t own.

The most recent edition M&P M2.0 series is the best military/police pistol available today.

I’m looking at getting one for woods carry, living in bear country a few extra rounds over my python wouldn’t hurt my feelings because more is better not that I feel undergunned with my colt. I’d be using underwood ammunition with Lehigh monolithic penetrators, it’s my go to load for anything I carry into the woods.

For first shots videos could you maybe shoot the stock gun without an RDS and light? I think it gives a much better idea of the performance we'll experience when we buy one. You can still run the RDS and light in the thousand-round review.

Also note M&P triggers have been known to be still function better than most other pistols in freezing/arctic conditions.

Love my M&P's. Got a full sized on my nightstand and a shield in my waist band. How about a look at the SDS/Tisas pistols, the 1911 and the PX-9?

There's a smaller 4" available on palmetto state armory online for 399 right now. Very affordable

Dude my absolute favorite gun channel on RU-vid. One complaint....you haven't showcased any 10mm's. I am a huge 10mm fanboy would love to get some impressions. I've had the M&P 2.0 10mm, Springfield XDM Elite 3.8 10mm, and a Sig X-Ten currently. 10 mill mafia would love some Honest Outlaw love! :-)

My SHTF pistol is the 5" S&W M&P 9. It’s home is a Blackhawk mid drop holster.

If S&W sees any of these comments, PLEASE make the "enhanced" blade style safety trigger as standard, even if its just the trigger and not the whole enhanced kit. I swear just the default curved safety trigger turns customers off. That I have to spend at lest $100 just to get a proper trigger face hurts. And have better support products like the enhanced trigger kit or just the trigger, optics cut slides available as a stand alone so I can upgrade my standard pistol, and increase magazine production. S&W 2.0 magazines are hard to find in stock and on the pricey side. Trigger is the only real complaint though. Other than that its well priced, very reliable, good size options and good feel.

Apex trigger and that will do wonders that I had that exact same gun for years and the Apex trigger really helped

As much as I like what S&W is doing these days, spicing up the product line, am I the only one waiting for the M&P 2011? You’d think a manufacturer with 11(!) 1911’s listed on their site would be all over that.

I have a 5" 2.0 that I put Dawson Precision fiber front and black rear sights on. Very fast and accurate pistol for me.

For me the canik rival fits this role better. I have a bunch of canik mags for my mete, comes with a better trigger, optics ready, custom slide. Basically everything but the porting, which I don’t really need for like $100 less

I have the same exact pistol. But i put an Apex Trigger in it. Not a fan of the older stock triggers. All the new flat faced triggers are much much better

Interesting that it looks like they haven’t updated the trigger yet. I have an older 4.25 in 40 caliber vary nice gun.

I want one so bad, its such a good looking pistol, the ammo price stops me. Its nothing to shoot 1000 rounds in a weekend. 9mm is what i use and carry the most. I do have a shield 45 2.0 and i love it.

I can't believe that everyone doesn't just automatically report those knobs who say call me! The claims of gifts are obviously fake; for crying out loud! Anyway, on to the review... The M&P Performance Center has got to be one of the underrated pistols available: reasonable price, good performance and fun too! I'm looking forward to the 1000 round review!
