I took sandpaper to the side against my skin and filled it a bit. Much more comfy and still grippy. I like the gun. I got the compact with full size grip and four inch tube. In 2018 before the shortage of 2020, 10mm ammo was hard to find in all forms. In 2022 and '23 I'm finding it at all my local gun stores. :)

Picked one of these up early this year for hiking through Grizzly country, I totally love it.

Each time I see a 10mm video I wonder why CZ hasn't done anything yet. A CZ P-09/7 and a CZ P10C/F would be perfect. They have 40s&w versions. Time for 10mm!

Nutn.. On the M&P's, it's super easy to convert it to a "non-safety" (there are videos on youtube to show you how easy it is to remove the safety- you don't have to mill anything off) -- and then if you just call S&W, they will send you the little plastic inserts for free, that will fill the holes on each side (where the safety comes through the frame). And of coarse you can easily put the safety back if you want. It's a pretty sweet conversion job.

Picked up one of the early XDM-10s and it has been astounding how well it handles the sh*tkickers from Underwood and Buffalo Bore, but always glad to see another 10mm pistol come to market.👍

The M&P 10mm for me is a must have. The Glock 20 was very appealing but I loved my original M&P 45 and this is just the better evolution of it. Shoots great and is ready for whenever I need the extra mm lol. Been looking forward to this review, thanks a bunch Nutn!

My M&P 10mm is one of my favorite guns. Pic rail, optics cut, suppressor height sights, excellent grip, and good trigger. S&W also has excellent customer service.

So I would just like to correct the fact that the m&p 2.0 10mm was a 4.6 inch barrel not a 4 inch.

Thank you for addressing the comments under every PCC video about "they need to make it in 10mm!" If the 9mm in your PCC isn't cutting it you need a rifle round. 10mm is good because it can fit in pistols.

How ironic! I just purchased a S&W 2.0 10MM a few weeks ago, threw on a TLR-1HL and a Swampfox Justice RDS and have been absolutely loving it. I made the joke that maybe the "too much for the FBI" had me expecting something insane to handle, but now I just look down my nose at the FBI because of it. xD

I had the 4.6 version. Great firearm. Hog hunt with it in arkansas. After purchasing it . saw many reviews on RU-vid. They were not kind. Saw tons of malfunctions. Spent way more money than the firearm cost testing the firearm. It actually put me into the reloading game. Smith & Wesson made a superior firearm. Over a thousand rounds of every kind of configuration I could think of running full power 10 mm. The firearm is flawless. Yes I am one of those PCC 10mm guys to cmmg. Even better for hunting Hogs. Really enjoyed the video thank you so much. I have that red dot. I have switched to the Vulcan acss reticle Game Changer dude

Love the M&P grip texture

What the world is lacking is an H&K USP in 10mm.

Just picked this up. Feels good in the hand, and the gun looks bad ass. Trigger way better than the old hinge triggers.

I have the M&P 2.0 in 10mm, & I like the grip so much [I use the *largest* backstrap] that it's my favorite pistol... But yeah, the ammo is rather pricey.

Capabilities of proper 10mm cannot be overstated. Damn fine round. It's basically .357 in a rimless form, making it ideal for autoloaders. Many 10mm ammo loadings (proper ones, like the aforementioned Underwood [personal choice], BB, etc.), exceed most .357 for raw power at the muzzle. .357 has the aerodynamics of course, but everything has it's POU. Really good review. I have a 20SF that I swear by and has definitely become my woods gun. If I didn't have that though, I might just spring for this S&W. The grip on it looks just amazing, aside from all the other features. And having that dot on there would be the icing on the cake.

I tend to go in the opposite direction. If I’m carrying, I want all of my shots on target. I can shoot 9mm, .380, and 5.7x28 very rapidly and not missing. I’ll take that in a high stress situation over 10mm or .45.

Its kind of validating to hear you say some companies neuter their 10mm loads. I figured that out after a conversation with a coworker and doing the math myself. Some companies max out the capabilities of the cartridge, some companies max out the capabilities of their supply chain.

In 2013 I inherited my great-uncle's S&W 1006. Since I knew I would be keeping that heirloom and would thus have 10mm ammo on hand. I bought a Glock 20. I'm very happy with 10mm.

Awesome review, I’ve had my M&P 10mm for almost a year and it has definitely become my favorite handgun in my rotation. Recently got a Vortex Defender ccw red dot that has made its home on it, and while I have a lot to learn about pistols and red dots, it has proven to be a reliable and accurate combo. Looking forward to having it on my chest this coming deer season in case of grizz. 🤠

I compared and handled the new 10mm offerings this year from S&W, Springfield and Sig. I bought the Sig XTen. No regrets. If Sig comes out with a compact XTen, I'll buy that one too. Sorry to S&W and Springfield, but not sorry

You really can’t beat a M&P. M&P + 10mm is even better.

Just picked one up last weekend. Took it to the range the next day. Had one ftf halfway through the first magazine. Put 200 rounds through it using three different rounds and had no other issues at all. 10mm is a lot of fun to shoot out of this gun. Lighter loads feel alot like 40s&w. Hot loads remind you it's a 10mm but still very manageable. Thanks for the video

I have that 2.0 .40 S&W. Goldilocks gun. If I had to grab one handgun in the middle of the night, that's the one. Has everything you could want ballistically and capacity wise. I have the 2.0 9mm, nope not grabbing that one. The .40 S&W is proven to work almost as well as .357 Mag but more rounds.

I picked up my.10mm (S&W 5.6” barrel) this past Friday and took it to my local gun range the next day and it was so much fun to shoot! This is my first 10mm (Performance Center) and I am so happy I bought it. Can't wait to take it back to the range!

A lot of the Alaskan channels have had reliability problems with the M&P. They end up going back to Glock. Also Glock 20 10mm Gen5 is coming in January.

Don Johnson of the Maimi Vice loved the Bren 10. The FBI tried it but was deemed to be too much recoil so the 40 sw cartridge was born for LEO use.

I really want to see this come out in the Metal series.

I’ve been appendix carrying my 2.0 4” 9mm for years now. Many many times I’ve worn it against bear skin while appendix carrying with no issues. That being said 4/5 o’clock position is brutal.

I'm one of the 3 people who actually changed the backstrap on my 9mm 2.0. Takes about 90 seconds. I have small hands, so it helps me. I can live with the abrasive grips. I would like to get the 10mm, mostly for second cool, but I would like it for handgun hunting. In NC they changed the laws for handgun hunting a few years ago, so now you can use basically any centerfire handgun. We have deer and feral hogs, and it seems like it would be perfect.

Not to be Captain Pedantic but that's the ACSS Vulcan reticle variant 507C, the circle is 250 MOA and the chevron is 10 MOA. The standard 507C has the 32 MOA circle/ 2 MOA dot. I definitely prefer the ACSS, such an intuitive pistol optic.

I did have the g29 for a while, it was a cool gun but you don’t get the full potential of 10mm. You need a full size or long slide if possible to get max power out of it.

I recently decided that I'm going to buy the S&W M&P 10mm. I like the idea of having something close to the power of a 357 Magnum yet having the capacity of a typical double-stack 9mm, all in a slim (1.3-inch width), carry-able 9mm-sized package and with an overall great look, including a lovely finish on the slide. Also, affordable. Also, reputable company.

From other testers, of the S&W 2.0, Flat Nose bullets including Hard Cast Leaf Flat Nose bullets generally do not have feeding and firing problems.

Love it , love the new trigger set up on the new ones , the full house loads in 10mm are heart stoppers forsure , killing hogs and coyotes at night t , down here in the south with 10mm handguns makes it even more fun and challenging

I just wish that everyone here in Oregon that is panic buying would take this opportunity to support OFF, FPC, and GOA with that money instead

I picked up a 4" version this weekend. 553 out the door. With the rebate (which is a pre-paid credit card for $100), 453 total. 10 bucks more for the 4.6" version. I went to buy a Gen5 G20. Tried the M&P 2.0 and just loved it. The fact it's 150 less (after rebate) for a more comfortable piece is Pure Gold.

Glock 20 is the same size in my hand as a 19 in most people’s. It’s just a scaled up 19 for me. Easy to carry for big guys. 10mm if you need to work anywhere near barriers.

Never understood why most 10mm target ammo is "flat tip?" It really hinders the feeding process, especially on 1911 models. Is there any true "round nose" 10mm out there????

Doesn't it shoot 40SW out of the same barrel? Might be a good way to test 10mm guns. I shoot 40SW out of my G20 with the stock barrel all the time.

I bought a Sig xten because I loved my 9mm p365 bought in 2020, well after the primer drag issue was solved. Specifically, I loved the night sights, trigger, and my trust in Sig. I put 250 rounds downrange through the xten with 2 hiccups in the first 100. The 2 mags have a hole labeled 15, but I prefer to load them to 14. After 3 weeks of uncomfortable belt carry, it ended up in my bag. I bring it with me to the mall and outdoorsing. It is capable of the Dicken drill. I didn't choose a Smith and Wesson 10mm because despite loving the way it feels in my hand the sd40ve was inaccurate. Their ar-15 has mediocre accuracy. My 629 has been a reliable machine, but I wouldn't try the Dicken drill with it. One good gun Smith and Wesson makes is the 360pd and I carry it. If you get used to it, no other gun has recoil. All that said, if I had a do over, instead of the xten, I'd buy a Glock g40. The 6 inch barrel has major second cool. It still fits in my bag. The 3 mags actually hold 15, but most importantly the Glock g40 is the most accurate handgun I've ever fired.

Eject the dovetail sights the same way the brass gets ejected from the barrel once fired. When pointing the pistol down range, the sights remove to the right, rear sight unscrew first. Shield ez release tension from inside slide and it falls out super easy.

STILL do not understand Glock Love! I own one but rarely shoot it. Bought it to go with the sub2000 G17 mags. Beretta mag model of the sub2000 must not be made anymore. First time shooting the G17, brass is hitting me in the forehead! WTF? No pistol of any caliber that I have shot has ever done that. That is a NO-GO for any pistol. Perfection my a$$.

I really looked hard at one of these but I went with the XDM Elite 10 osp and a Holosun 507.

Bought my longslide S&W 10mm about 6 months ago. Changed to the smallest grip module, installed a Vortex Venom optic, and put a full sized Streamlight TLR-1HL to help with recoil management. Not cheap to feed though. Loaded 9mm and 40S&W for years so I got a set of 10mm specific Hornaday dies and started loading 165gr and 180gr FMJ and JHP bullets. Have had a Tanfolio Witness in 10mm for 20 years but it is so heavy I never really carried it... This I will carry.

10mm Norma Spec cartridges were designed (by men with extensive gunfighting experience) specifically to stop two-legged threats. While powerful, it’s only ~300 fps faster than .40S&W. A byproduct is “bear defense,” but it’s no .357/.44 Magnum. I started carrying a 10mm 31 yrs ago, and absolutely love it. My favorite is the XTEN and mine has just over 4K flawless rds through it. Since Sig won’t get off their 4th point of contact and release a XTEN Carry (4-in barrel), I bought a S&W 2.0 Compact 10mm, replaced the tall sights with factory stnd height tritium sights and an Apex trigger (gunsmith installed). Oh, the factory trigger’s initial take-up is half a mile… meant half an inch or thereabouts… crazy long anyway. It carries as nicely as a similar size 9mm. I carry AIWB exclusively. I use Floyd’s +1 with the gun (16+1 capacity) and +5 on some spare magazines. The XTEN manages Norma spec cartridges recoil the best of all 10mm pistols I own. The ergonomics are fantastic (for me), but the 2.0 Compact is still very comfortable to shoot and is the best concealed carry 10mm I have (I like it better than the SA 3.8 Compact 10mm).

I want to see Smith and Wesson come out with a long slide version like the Glock 40 in 10mm.

I think magtech is pretty good 10mm ammo 1200-1250 fps with 180 grain ammo

You mention 10mm in a PCC. I have 2 PCCs in .40 (Sub 2000 and Beretta CX4) If you look at Ballistics By The Inch charts, .40 S&W in a PCC generates a dramatic increase in velocity.. In some loadings exceeding 10mm in a pistol. It really hits hard and it is Far Cheaper than 10mm. 9mm by contrast gains very little in a barrel > 10 inches.

I have both the M&P and G20. I’d trade my G20 all day for another M&P. I EDC mine with the grip against my bare skin. I’m not into skin care products, exfoliating or softening lotion etc. so I don’t have a problem with the grip against my skin.

I just got the compact m&p 10mm. Luckily I reload so I can put rounds down range at my will. For some reason took me several hundred rounds to really get comfortable with this one. I’m a big m&p fan

XDM-E 3.8” in 10mm. I like having the grip safety for chest carry in the woods. I found some hard cast 200gr at 1150 fps. Not quite Buffalo Bore (which is unobtainable in these parts), but not too far off. There are some “Bear Loads” out there that are only 180 gr and 1050 fps. Maybe an ok round for lesser critters, or maybe they just have small bears somewhere. 😂

Came here for a review of the Smith and Wesson and got mostly footage of a Glock. Moved on to someone else's review.

10MM pcc makes a lot of sense. You can get decent affordable 10mm ammo. You don't always need full pressure.

Hey, LTC! I have notice that in 10mm vids nobody says…”it’s to snappy so I’ll stick to 9mm”. But every time I check a .40 S&W vid everybody says the same thing….40 is to snappy and they prefer the 9mm. Your thoughts!

Been thinking about the XDM Elite 10mm.

I love the 10mm Auto. It's my favorite pistol cartridge. The .357 Magnum of the semi-auto pistol world. I purchased my S&W M&P 10mm M2.0 4.6" w/ AMTS back in mid May 2022. IMHO, the AMTS is an absolute must on any striker-fired semi-auto pistol. On my very first outing (mid May 2022), I ran 216 rounds of 10mm Auto 180 Gr FN FMJ and 200 Gr FN HCL through it, and had one malfunction, a FTF, with the 200 Gr FN HCL. The weak stock 17-pound (17#) RSA just wasn't up to the job. The frame was getting heavily battered, and my shell casings were going ballistic, flying up to 30 feet. So I replaced the weak stock RSA with a 24# RSA, and the soft stock magazine springs for longer stronger 11-coil magazine springs from Springer Precision. Less than a $50 investment. To date (Nov2023), and an additional 2,100 rounds later (all 10mm Auto ammo), I've enjoyed 100% flawless, perfect functionality. Call it S&W M&P Perfection: ● 1,400+ rounds of various 10mm Auto 180 Gr FN FMJ ammo. ● 600+ rounds of Underwood 10mm Auto ammo, including JHP, ranging from 140 Gr Xtreme Penetrator up through 220 Gr FN HCL bear defense loads. ● 20 rounds of Buffalo Bore 10mm Auto 220 Gr FN HCL. ● 20 rounds of Steinel Ammo 10mm Auto 220 Gr FN HCL. Perfection. I always thoroughly clean and properly lubricate my guns every time they're used. That's just Basic Responsible Gun Ownership 101. This pistol is extremely reliable, highly accurate, very easy to shoot well, and wonderfully ergonomic. I'm very happy to say this pistol has replaced / retired my Gen3 Glock 20SF, which I've since sold off. Good things! 👍

I bought a G20 way back when after watching your "rave" on the handgun and I loved it so much that I got it milled for an rmr and put a TLR1-HL on it. This video makes me want to buy another awesome 10mm. Thank you for all your great content, but my wallet says "f you" lol

Dude honestly I would love it to be an industry standard for companies to automatically make their 9mm carbines in 10. Who cares if its almost double the price. Stop being anti 10mm! My XDM10 runs that S&B ammo just fine btw.

G29 is a perfect OWB solution for riding dirt bikes and quads out west where there are bears, lions, etc... Stays out of the way when you're riding but is there if you ever need it...Also makes jack rabbits do barrel rolls. :)

Here in MO you can use 10mm for hunting whitetail. The law requires a centerfire handgun of at least .40 with expanding ammunition and a 10rd magazine

Springfield Armory XDM Elite 10mm might be a worthy competitor.

My m&p10 was garbage.... it rattled so bad it was a problem with the mag and the grip. It rattled so bad you could hear it just walking around. I sold it the same day.... seems im not alone alot of issues with the m&p 10mm....never had an issue with my g20 and g29

10mm is great. Affordable ammo can be found but to get the most out of the cartridge agree need to reload or buy expensive ammo like Buffalo Bore.

My number one application would be a camping handgun for most things with four legs and everything with two. Secondary use would be for hunting whether it be the hunted or the hunter

Just bought a Springfield Armory XDM Elite 10mm double stack. It's my new favorite pistol and I'm 1911 .45ACP fan. Super accurate and got some punch...Basically a .40 magnum. I love my 10mm 🤘😎

I just have seen over and over through ballistic testing that 45, 9, and 10 have equal terminal performance.. I used to carry 10mm and 45 super when I thought it made a difference but the science just isn't there. The extra ammo is better than the power
