That's exactly my reaction After seeing the first game I was like "so it's gonna be a massacre with a 3-0?" After the second one "Okay so two slightly shorter games and we'll have a good 3-1 then" And then you have 3 short lopsided games coming right in in like 5 minutes. I have no clue how those could even get so fast holy moly

I tried explaining this to two of my friends, who play ultimate. But they were convinced that "smash is the most unbalanced modern day fighting game", precisely becuz of the number match ups this game offers @_@

That’s actually a negative for competitors. For people watching it’s really entertaining but losing to random xyz character because there are too many characters to know the matchup for all characters Is a negative imo and having them all be semi viable makes it worse.

He didn't outrange him. Dk's punch missed, then bowser hit Dk's hand while it was still extended. It's a consequence of having no disjoints.

Ftilt didn't outrange Giant Punch there, he punched DK's fist after the active hitbox ran out.

Neither did KirbyKid, Chunkykong, BestNess and many, many other people who could make waves offline if they could travel. Sigh.

It's sad to see how people are saying that person x won against person y because of online. I know that offline and online makes a huge difference, but we don't know how smash players like chunky kong or kirbykid would fare offline, so it's kinda dumb to assume that leon would have won offline, we just don't know. Besides, Leon was 3stocked by a kirby two times in a row recently (hungrybox made a video about it) and I doubt he would have won those games offline. Leon is a very good smash player and I really like watching his matches but there will always be better players, not everyone has the chance or got the time to go to offline tournaments.

@@marcelloi.8309 Chunky did go to some locals before tournaments and did really well. He isnt carried by wifi (i know you didnt imply that, but he is considered a wifi warrior) he just doesnt have the means to travel as much

Giant punch lost to ftilt cuz the active hit box was done and it became an idol animation. And Leon timing the ftilt at the right time made it look like punch lost

when the active frames of giant punch end, there is an infamous hurtbox extension on DK's arm. And the giant punch is only active for two frames. That's why Bowser ftilt seems to be stronger than DK punch, but of course It is not. This is only one more of DK's unfair hurtboxes.
