You know, just having a shed for bikes means a lot. It really one of those touches that makes one want to come back.

The last few days weather has been superb, if it had been like this all through it would have been fantastic.

Thank you for posting the videos of your trip. I made the mistake of starting with the last one you’ve posted, where you reach the Channel Tunnel and thought your commentary was a bit negative. Luckily for me a mixture of bad weather and a bit of time on my hands allowed me to start from the beginning. I was particularly interested in them because I lived and worked in Germany for a long time and you were going to be passing through places I know very well. There was a lot a liked about your trip, in particular: the routes you took; too many RU-vid bikers seem to think that the only way to travel through Europe is in big fast roads, it was lovely someone enjoying the back roads: the pace you travelled at; it was great to see somebody who wasn’t setting unrealistic daily mileage targets meaning that they were always chasing the clock, you stopped when it felt right and you weren’t hunting for campsites in the dark then setting up and eating late at night: you camped; again the trend amongst too many RU-vid bikers is that you must stay in pre-booked 5* hotels and eat in expensive restaurants, they tend to come over as spoiled brats who deserve the best possible and that’s not real life for most bikers: you stopped and visited places; it always amazes me how many people head off for their well known, trendy, tick list destinations but don’t actually benefit from being there: you explained a lot as you went along whether it was the area you were visiting or how you used your vlogging equipment: your content was varied as were your comments; your days were different from eachother, you didn’t simply repeat the same tired superlatives at every view, every experience. Well done and thanks for all that. You were so unbelievably unlucky with the weather but kept positive throughout; in fact you hid a bit too much of the misery that riding in the rain all day and camping in the rain at night for days on end can bring. I don’t mind motorcycling in the rain and I don’t mind camping in the rain, what I do hate is setting up and packing up my tent in the rain, I take my hat off to you for keeping going day in day out in miserable conditions. Experience has taught me to always be flexible. Modern weather forecasting is pretty good and if where I’m heading for is going to be wet and miserable I go somewhere else. Your not booking ahead strategy makes that sort of change of plan very easy… there’s always next year for plan A. I’m now looking forward to seeing where you go and what you do next year, from a personal point of view I’m hoping that your plans for the next trip keep you off the motorways and on the campsites, we both know it makes sense. 🙂🙂⛺️🏍 Thanks again.

I knew when planning the trip that if i stayed on fast roads i would miss so much. I wanted to experience each country at a slower pace and be able to stop if i saw something interesting and it worked out well. The weather didn't go to plan, but that's out of our control. Maybe i will be luckier next time 👍 Also filming some of our off bike time helps break the videos from just mile munching road views. Glad you enjoyed it 👍 i certainly did, all the countries we visited were amazing.

As I suggested use medium term weather forecasts and have a plan B to follow the warm dry weather. I’ve had my current touring bike for just over two years and in that time it’s done 20,000km and in all that time it’s been on two motorways; the first was to cross the River Loire west of Tours, the best route was to get on the autoroute on the south bank of the river and come off 600 metres later on the other bank. The second time was to go from south side of Issoire in the Massif Central to the north of the town; that time it was simply a case of going down the on ramp, staying on the slip road and coming off at the next exit a few hundred yards later. In my opinion there is always a better choice than the motorway option. I’m looking forward to seeing where you go in 2024. Ride safe and Happy New Year. 🎉🥂🍻🍻🥂🎉

That stuff is strong stuff lol I think people overthink the storage thing on a long trip and take too many SD cards, i do have about 12 SD cards but usually only use 4 at a time which is easily stored on a laptop hard drive, plus the laptop comes in handy at night for finding local information using internet through my phone 👍 my anker powerbank charges as i ride during the day and can fully charge my laptop from dead.

I found the campsites in France even some were basic, seem to be far better organised than in the UK, Chamonix was fantastic.

I enjoyed this trip because it isn’t just endless miles of running down roads like a lot do. More work for sure, I know from experience, but I think it makes it a much more engaging experience. Well done.

We stayed at a Municipal last year in France and it was 3 euros each, the private ones are still good value for 10 euro each, that would be £30 or £40 quid in rip off Britain. We’re doing hotels this year, going picos end of May , no camping and getting everything wet 😂😂😂😂
