Thanks for watching! Sectarian hatred not only resulted in violence and mass murder, but played a large role in Edward I invading Scotland. Christianity may have ostensibly brought ‘order’ to Scotland, but in the long run it resulted in chaos and destruction. The amount of cruelty and death meted out in the name of God over the centuries can’t be ignored or dismissed as a few ‘bad apples’. This isn’t an anti- religion point, and not intended to attack anyone of Christian faith. Religion has many positive aspects. However, we all know that in the Middle Ages it resulted in persecution, torture and murder of those deemed ‘heretics’. I would suggest that such ideology resulted in more death than would have occurred through traditional clan warfare. This is why I use the word ‘possibly’ in the episode. People may have differing opinions on the subject but given the evidence, the argument is valid.

@@UtopiaPlanitiaStudios You have a point to an extent only as far as these Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao Zedong what religion did they follow? Anyway I really enjoy your videos. Far far better than anything on the tv at the moment. I think it is fabulous that you combine bits of history with the hill. For hillwalkers there is a dearth of such content. Please keep up the your productions and all the best, even if we disagree about your take on religion.

Regarding the dearth of this kind of content, I wholly agree. That was my motivation in creating the series - to make the kind of programme I wanted to see, inspired by groundbreaking television like The Munro Show and Weir's Way and the great mountain communicators such as Tom Patey, W.H.
