12k for a tow? Doesn't make any economical sense, man, with a 13k bike. Then again a desert is a desert, and the australian conditions are one of a kind. I would consider very carefully adventuring through it and not alone. I am like you a lone rider and love it, but some places to me are not to be traveled solo. Glad you made it out in one piece. I bet you learned a few valuable things about adventuring there, these are goldies for your next paths. Happy trails to you.

Good result in the end and thanks to technology you were able to get assistance. I hope others watching this realise the real risks, costs and potential consequences of travelling in remote Australia before trying to tackle tracks like this. It is very risky and those who know make careful planning and preparation before doing so. Even with the best planning and equipment you can and likely will face potentially deadly situations. Even relatively short trips in the desert are dangerous especially on motorcycles so always travel in pairs. I would also recommend travelling in the cooler months and avoid any desert trips in summer at all costs. Generally only employees of mining companies, contractors, government workers or the like will travel on these tracks in summer and with the financial backing and support that brings in case something goes wrong. They certainly don’t travel alone. You certainly should never just “wing it and hope for the best”. I hope you manage to get your bike back but from the sounds of it, it will likely be added to the long list of forgotten vehicles that have died out there. Just lucky you didn’t join that list.

@@Adventure_Fever awesome news mate. Glad you got your bike back. It’s a big fear of mine that my bike may end up being left to the elements and scavengers after a situation like this and I have grown up and lived in remote WA for most of my life. Doing a big trip later this year and if anything goes wrong there won’t be any support other than relying on our EPIRB and the rescue efforts of the nearest community. I wasn’t knocking you over this I just want anyone who is watching to know what the situation really is. Unless you really know how empty and harsh it is out there then an unsuspecting person may get themselves into a very dire situation. 👍🇦🇺💪

One thing your adventures have made clear is that unless you are very well off financially, hard-core adventure riding can be quite risky! Life is much easier if you have new equipment, and large sums of money to cover unexpected events. But then, challenges are sometimes more rewarding if it isn't 'easy'.

You can rent a Ute (pick up truck) for a couple of hundred dollars a day… get a heap of fuel cans, water etc… and drive back and collect it yourself for much cheaper. I’m in Adelaide, and if I had the time I’d drive and help you for the costs of the fuel… but unfortunately I have work commitments. Don’t let company’s scam you the big dollars.

It's a really gutsy trip to do on your own and perhaps in retrospect it would have been better to choose the cooler months, but hey hindsight, as they say is always 20/20. Most Aussies have never gone where you have, so I take my hat off to you regardless of the outcome. No one was injured during your rescue and I suspect that you have reimbursed Mick and the pilot for their time and expenses. Ultimately mate you rolled the dice and you lost, but you didn't lose your life and I'm sure that some big hearted Aussie will help you to rescue your bike for a reasonable price. i don't understand why you can't fix your bike at the roadhouse and ride it to coober pedy and then go down to port augusta if you need more extensive repairs. i have ridden a good bit of south australia/ simpson desert etc and you have to be self sufficient and repair stuff yourself if you possibly can. northern motorcycles in port augusta are a yamaha dealer they can send parts anywhere it's possible. i wouldn't go out there on anything but a suzuki so i've never needed parts but i did call in there to get fresh rubber and give my bike a service and they were good to deal with.

G'day mate, from the Netherlands. I'v been on a lot of tracks in Australia and recommend everybody to experience the stunning outback, on a save en responseble way. Good to see you are well and save after all. But am I right that you needed to be rescued TWICE !? As shown in a other vid on the same track? What a adventure, it may give you some more views youtube. But please put a big warning on your channel: 'this was stupid I'v made twice a big miscalculation and it went totaly wrong; I'm not proud!' A big P on the bike and with no capability to repair te bike on site by yourself, solo going onto these tracks is not to be shown as normal on youtube. I recon good decisions a much better then a device with a rescue button. No wonder you (had to?) leave australia! That may has been the best decicion.

I put my live at risk for the adventure, and do everything in my power to make it through whitout getting as much as a scratch. this unfortunatley didnt happen here. Rescue is in most of my trips not neccesary however this one went wrong.... Putting a rescuer at risk is not a intention, intention is for everything to go right, when it doenst fix it yourself, and when that doenst work comes rescue. Wich was what happened in this case. Please have a look at earlier video's where i explain what time of year, and what my precations where.

Look at the amount of preparation he did. It seems to me you don’t really know what you are talking about. The number of silly people that have to be rescued every year simply because they are going flat out in remote areas thinking they are invisible is staggering. He was quite conservative in his approach. Regarding the water he took significantly more then most of us that have been through there. There is always a chance of something going wrong on these trails and he tried very hard to minimise that chance.

he said in the vid he had plenty of water, and that wasn't an issue. The heat affects people differently. Heat stroke kicked in and clearly he made the right call to get recused before he become delusional, I think it shows he was prepeared and aware of the danger. It's a harsh enviroment, one that has claimed a lot of lives, good to see someone came to the rescue. $12k for bike recovery is taking advantage of someone that is already suffered and is dishonourable.

You could restart your trip in a ute and pick it up. Definitely it's difficult manage your finance but try maybe looking for someone wants to do an adventure regarding. Maybe another youtuber that could create a content from this rescue? I m in Perth and there are few content creators 4wd. Try to contact 4xoverland or Ronny dhall. i wish you the best and if you come to perth and need a tool i will be happy to help

I wished, the rental utes don't let you go off-road, and you're getting in some reel deep shit if you break down whit that...... However that would have been a good idea, I'm a bit scary with four wheel drive trips, as i know bikes but got zero experience whit cars..... Thanks for watching mate! Much appreciated!
