@ 45:55 Reminds me of the "mind fire" described by Marcus Aurelius. The optic nerve splits between the two brain hemispheres, that is nature telling us, at least one sensor input is split, and I suspect the two half hemispheres perceive the signal differently (Dr Iain McGilchrist has a lot of interesting research on this, for anyone interest he has a fascinating youtube channel on the brain).. Something even more fascinating to me is a RU-vid video titled "Bird migration and quantum entanglement" by Professor Jim Al-Khalili where slight entangled difference along the optic nerve of a Robin allows for magnetic field sensing (verified by experiment in a Faraday cage).

@ 48:38 I know nothing about "g flow networks", however, what Yoshua describes, almost sounds like K-means clustering, and if this is combined with Fuzzy Logic (merges statistical math and language) and RL, the inference rules about the actions on the state space can be learned automatically. Yann LeCun, fascinatingly, says to "get rid of RL" (unless you are fighting a "ninja") and that K-means clustering might lead to "artificial general intelligence", however, from my perception, RL with Fuzzy Logic & K-means (normally used in signal processing) clustering may have potential (noting that Fuzzy Logic is computationally efficient).

Indeed, as income rises, very few people lower their expenses, it is an inverse reward function, hence, few people are free.

Interesting talk, it seems in part of the talk Yoshua is describing Fuzzy Logic, especially when discussing inference. I am puzzled why it is not mentioned. I guess "Fuzzy" is a self incriminating word that really says "I do not know" (e.g. is the room hot or warm?). Few people may want a system that is designed from humility, but maybe few may know what is behind the Dunning-Kruger Effect.
