I've never watched a Score Attack run before. Incredibly well-executed! Learned more about Final Rush in this 5 minute video than I have in the last 23 years I've played this game. Congrats on the WR!
I literally *just* started getting back into Sonic and I’ve already gotten Charriii jumpscared Like I’ve been here for all of 3 weeks can I not get nostalgia injected into my veins 😭
3:39 I was confused at first thinking "this guy's throwing it all away!" then I was REALLY confused because I didn't even know THAT spring even existed in the first place. My mind was thoroughly blown with this one.
You beat my score (looks like someone else did too). Really, just honoured to see someone use the start route I came up with. Some of the inconsistencies in this level are very annoying for score attacks.
Ive never seen this type of run before :) At first I was confused but then I saw a comment below explaining what is happening and the run was pretty nice~
Glad you enjoyed! Score runs are waaay less popular than speedruns (makes sense, it is sonic after all) but I think the process of routing everything out and coming up with creative way to maximize combos makes it a pretty fantastic category.
Ignore the the whiney bums in the comments, this is a remarkable accomplishment. I've been a casual player for the 18 years I had this game, and it was so trippy seeing shortcuts like the glitch to the ending part of the level. Really well done, I can't imagine how long this took!
Mario level designs are pretty cool, but I find them at least moderately easy to understand. But with sonic games, I look at the levels and honestly I have no earthly idea how the designers threw them together lmao.
These SA runs u been on have been so fucking cool to watch and if I wasn't so busy developing blindfolded stuff, I'd also want in on the fun. Keep doing wut ur doing man I'm loving it!
Incredible! And a reminder of why I love this game so much; such fun designs and so much freedom to tackle the stages with a variety of methods and approaches!
Score attacks might definitely be more difficult than going as fast as you can. You have to do a lot more without any huge mistakes. Imagine an entire speedrun of this for ALL stages.
I think the reason score attack looks so fun is because it requires you to really interact with the level instead of that usual time attacks where you have to do skips.
This was epic. Loved seeing all the paths I never go down, and seeing all the 1up capsules I didn't know existed. Why are some of these even in the level lol. Like 3:42. Who would think to go here???? It was also kinda funny around 5:12 to see you grind *back up* the rail just you can trick off the other one for more points. I also didn't know you could use magic hands in mid-air?
@@SpicyPunkRockerOfficial TBF I thought it was a speedrun at first till I saw how much backtracking was being done and checked out the comments to see what it's all about. I'd say this is harder because not only do you need to be fast, but you also have to gather many resources in the stage. It's basically a more complicated version of speedrunning.
I don’t believe it’s a world record! There’s too many sonic freaks out there for it to be a WR! And all your doing is collecting everything as you play it’s easy stuff
1. Collect everything 2. Kill all enemies 3. Get all items, power up, 1 up containers. 3. Don't get hit ever 4. Make every rail jump you can for best score bonus 5. Get a good time bonus (i.e. go fast nerd) Oh yeah, real f*ckin' easy...hence why the previous record was shattered by an absolutely massive 10 points. Don't talk about difficulty until you can walk the walk.
@@Jaknife101 IT IS EASY WHEN YOU RETRY THE LEVEL OVER 1000 TIMES! Oh I know, I WONT COME OFF THIS GAME UNTIL I BEAT THAT CLOWNS SCORE! Said nobody with an actual life! I’ve got the 100% on SA2 and nobody could even pay me to go back on that game! NEXT
